Gieshala Mims currently teaches computer science in the Senatobia Municipal School District at Senatobia Middle School in Mississippi. Gieshala received her undergraduate degree in Real Estate and Mortgage Finance as well as an MBA from Mississippi State University. She holds a specialist degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Phoenix, where she is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Educational Technology. Gieshala’s teaching philosophy has always centered around her students and the experiences that she is able to provide for them in her classroom. As a computer teacher tasked with teaching technologically advanced students in a technology-driven society, Gieshala takes great pride and care that her students are not only able to survive in that society but thrive by focusing on curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking. This is done by creating a comprehensive online learning experience through her NEO-LMS, Mimzy101, which she feels is one of her greatest professional accomplishments and contributions to her students.
