Technical support requires improvement while cost-effectiveness enables efficient resource management
Pros and Cons
  • "The cost-effectiveness of Azure Virtual Machines is one of the most valuable features."
  • "Scalability is very straightforward with Azure Virtual Desktop."
  • "Azure is vast, and perhaps an architect-level experience could provide more insights into potential improvements."
  • "My overall rating of Azure Virtual Desktop is five out of ten. While the stability and cost-effectiveness are commendable, there is room for improvement in technical support."

What is our primary use case?

We are dealing with Azure Virtual Desktops as well as physical desktops and laptops. We manage the endpoints and customers, so we use this solution in collaboration with a distributor partner for Azure platforms.

What is most valuable?

The cost-effectiveness of Azure Virtual Machines is one of the most valuable features. If we purchase high-configured virtual machines, it becomes very costly.

However, with Azure Virtual Machines, we can explore the functionalities and utilize them as needed. If they are not needed, they can be shut down on the cloud, offering a cost-effective strategy.

What needs improvement?

Currently, based on my understanding and knowledge, everything is good and meets customer requirements.

However, Azure is vast, and perhaps an architect-level experience could provide more insights into potential improvements.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been working with Azure Virtual Desktop for the last three years.

When dealing with Microsoft's technical support, the ticket process often involves repeating basic troubleshooting steps that we have already completed, implying a need for support personnel who understand the issues better.

I rate Microsoft's technical support five out of ten.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Purchasing high-configured virtual machines can be costly, but Azure Virtual Desktop offers cost-effective opportunities by allowing us to utilize resources as needed and shut them down when not in use.
