Advanced detectors streamline threat monitoring with many use cases
Hunter support is functional yet not exceptional. Their support engineers could be more advanced and faster in providing solutions. Their turnaround time could improve to match other tools. When feedback is provided, they consider it and indicate if it is in the development stage. They commit to fixing bugs and developing the module or feature, however, take quite a lot of time. I would rate their customer support as needing improvement. Another area needing improvement is integration capabilities, as they are not yet fully compatible. Users still have to rely on third-party software or integration tools. Furthermore, they should incorporate more GenAI capabilities, a current buzzword, and enable predictive use cases. Their tools should be capable of reading the environment, making adaptations, and automatically tweaking settings as per client or environmental needs, similar to capabilities provided by other SIEM tools.

User-friendly dashboard and machine learning capabilities improve threat hunting efficiency
LogRhythm SIEM has strong machine-learning capabilities with behavioral rules and analysis. The seamless integration for case management, along with a user-friendly dashboard user interface, makes tasks like threat hunting more efficient. Analytics and behavioral analysis help me save time with rule creation. Its scalability allows me to add components as needed. Overall, LogRhythm SIEM offers end-to-end visibility with a reasonable price.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Other SIEM tools base their license cost on the volume of data processed, often charging by how much TB or GB data is processed. Hunter, however, charges based on the number of data sources and the number of data entities integrated, which saves money."
"Hunter proactively provides a set of five to six hundred use cases, categorized based on cloud use cases, endpoint use cases, parameter use cases, and malicious use cases."
"In terms of security, LogRhythm NextGen SIEM is great."
"Automations are very valuable. It provides the ability to automate some of our small use cases. The ability to integrate with other products that use an API is also very useful. LogRhythm has a plugin for it that we can connect and start to move down towards the path of a single pane of glass instead of having multiple or different tools."
"We use this solution to examine disparate log sources and provide a cohesive method to search for anomalous behavior."
"We integrated Azure logs with it and that makes it simpler. Rather than having to log into the portal, we can just check everything in one place. We can compare those to our Windows and host logs to see if any problems correlate between them."
"LogRhythm's GUI is easy to explore. We also like other features, such as its integration with other security solutions, log correlation, and the deployment of use cases."
"Our clients enjoy having one dashboard to monitor their environments in real time."
"NextGen SIEM's best feature is how it presents logs."
"LogRhythm has increased productivity because all the tools that we need are in the web UI, allowing us to find threats on our network fast and efficiently."

Cons

"Hunter support is functional yet not exceptional."
"Hunter support is functional yet not exceptional. Their support engineers could be more advanced and faster in providing solutions."
"Sometimes the Platform Manager crashes because it's built around Windows."
"One thing we have mentioned to them before is that we'd like to be able to do searches, or drill-downs, directly from an alarm. When you click it and the Inspector tab slides out, that might be a good place to be able to click the host to search for the last 24 hours. I know the search is right there but it would be even nicer to just click that and then have an option to search something there."
"I would like a more fuller implementation of STIX/TAXII so I can pull in some of the government lists without having to go implement a whole new STIX/TAXII platform."
"The solution is likely not the best option for a smaller organization."
"The product's initial setup phase is pretty complex."
"One area for improvement in LogRhythm NextGen SIEM is that it's a Windows-based tool, and I feel it should be on the Linux operating system instead. Another area for improvement in the tool is the UI. There should be minor changes in the UI to make it better, though I like the dashboards in LogRhythm NextGen SIEM."
"I would probably look for more things to go into the web console that is currently on the fat client."
"I would really like to see some type of group or global management for RIM policies,"

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"We work with French-speaking African countries, and it costs more than the average SIEM solution. Also, the pricing isn't too flexible. AlienVault, Splunk, and IBM QRadar are more suitable for customers on a tight budget."
"In comparison to the competition, they are more affordable. This allows us to do more with less."
"It costs a great amount, but its pricing is competitive with some of the other vendors. For licensing and support, we pay about 20,000. There are no additional costs or anything like that."
"I think the tool is reasonably priced. There is a need to pay per year towards the licensing costs of the tool."
"LogRhythm's licensing is based on MPS. There are some add-on features like advanced UEBA, the cloud component for advanced UEBA, and SIEM."
"We have seen a measurable decrease in the mean time to detect and respond to threats. As it comes out new features and new releases, the window is becoming a lot narrower because you can pivot a lot more with the data. Therefore, the new features and enhancements are reducing that."
"The support which allows more customized to the environment when we are deploying new systems is called Professional Service and is very expensive. The technical annual support and there is an annual fee."
"I would rate the tool's pricing around eight out of ten."
