Good scalability, useful in terms of collective analytics, and low latency
For a hybrid cloud area, I see some issues when on the hybrid cloud; you want to use this kind of solution. It doesn't work great everywhere. If it's a complete solution from them, then it's very great. But when it's a hybrid cloud I'm trying to make, then I find some issues here. Moreover, my expectations were probably slightly more for the third-party tool integration; for example, regarding the analytics, I had some different tools. So, integration was not as good as I was expecting. So, analytics, configuration tool I was not really happy. So, there is room for improvement in context with integration with existing tools in our network environment.

Automation has streamlined complex financial workflows but still needs more intuitive orchestration
Something to improve in VMware Aria Automation would be related to VCF 9, as I do not know what it is trying to bring because they exposed it as the solution of everything. So VCF 9 will bring VCF Automation and VCF Operations, the new product line of VMware. I have not seen what this brings or what else it includes. Maybe in the area of vRealize Orchestrator, this would be beneficial because VRO can do everything. Perhaps a more user-friendly way to use that tool would be helpful because the possibilities there are endless. I am looking for more user-friendly navigation in VMware Aria Automation.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The solution's technical support is good."
"Juniper is a high cost but it's a good enterprise solution for my enterprise network."
"It's a stable product. I didn't find any issues with regard to stability. I would rate the stability a ten out of ten."
"The automation functionality has been most valuable. With a click of a button, we are able to automate provisioning, the build of new hardware and apply patches. These are all extremely important and differentiated tasks that can be automated in SaltStack."
"Being able to provide automation for my customers, essentially having guard rails on what they can deploy and how much it is they're deploying in my environment."
"What we do with it is we've taken a very lengthy deployment process and we have shrunk it from what was a months-long process down to a matter of hours."
"We can connect between multiple VMs in a matter of seconds."
"It is possible to completely automatize the creation and removal of a virtual machine."
"We had a lot of config drift before, and this really helps us keep it on track. Speed to provision is probably our biggest, significant gain."
"The extensibility of it and the customization of a lot of the Blueprints, that you can customize, and the community as a whole. There's a ton of community-generated Blueprints that might be (helpful) to set up a design for your automation needs, that you can use as a base and go on from there and make changes to it."
"The time for provisioning a VM for one of our clients was cut in half, and we can now provide a solution to a customer on the same day that the request is made, whereas previously it would have taken us days and we often found instances where errors were made or things were forgotten."

Cons

"This solution has a yearly licensing. In my country, it's really expensive."
"My expectations were probably slightly more for the third-party tool integration; for example, regarding the analytics, I had some different tools. So, integration was not as good as I was expecting. So, analytics, configuration tool I was not really happy. "This solution has a yearly licensing. In my country, it's really expensive."
"Normally, on the first call to technical support, you don't get the right person. The log analysis takes a long time. This is something which should be improved."
"It does go down from time to time. We have some issues with the appliances sometimes and we have to do reboots in the middle of the day."
"I rate it a seven out of ten because it needs improvement in stability, performance, and quality."
"In terms of usability, it has had its challenges. It requires a lot of custom code to integrate into our environment."
"It's not cheap."
"It needs to be more dynamic with variable customization to make new workloads more reliable. It also needs to be faster."
"Maintaining the product requires effort and a good understanding of the environment, including how to set up the codes and other configurations. Pricing needs to be improved to improve the customer penetration."
"Because we're running on the older version, we've actually had a lot of stability issues."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"As far as value is concerned, it has been essential to our environment. We have been able to deploy VMs quickly and the developers have their own sandbox, so they can spin up and destroy VMs at their own will."
"Better pricing is always handy, but I feel it's at the right price point."
"From the customer perspective, the value was worth it."
"This is an expensive product and the high price is starting to become an issue for us."
"We have seen significant ROI. We used to have physical servers, it took 90 days to get a server, order it, buy it, and get it in. We have it down to 10 minutes, building a server with virtualization, and now that's too slow. So, we let the customer do it at their speed. Therefore, it is pretty much up in a couple of minutes and they have a server."
"The tool is expensive since it is an enterprise product."
"The solution is free of cost."
"The cost of the solution is reasonable for us. Although it is relatively high, we prioritize stability and integration over cost."
