Our main use case for Dell PowerEdge C- Series is to build the ERP system. In day-to-day tasks, we perform software programming using Dell PowerEdge C- Series. With Dell PowerEdge C- Series, we are conducting software programming using .NET and managing databases using Microsoft SQL.

I am uncertain about the best features, but so far the performance has been excellent. Regarding features of Dell PowerEdge C- Series, reliability, scalability, and ease of management stand out to me. Dell PowerEdge C- Series has positively impacted my organization by improving performance, with no user complaints. The performance of Dell PowerEdge C- Series is faster, and users can access the database more quickly. Using Dell PowerEdge C- Series has helped reduce unplanned production downtime by 20%. Dell PowerEdge C- Series helped reduce downtime because we have experienced no user complaints, and everything is functioning well.

I am uncertain how Dell PowerEdge C- Series can be improved, as the project has not completed yet. I recognize we need to evaluate another year to determine what improvements are needed for Dell PowerEdge C- Series, so I cannot provide specific recommendations at this time.

In terms of energy consumption, I can see that the overall cost for electricity in the server room with Dell PowerEdge C- Series is less this year. My advice to others looking into using Dell PowerEdge C- Series is to try it and form your own conclusions. I would rate this review a 9.

My main use case for Dell PowerEdge C- Series is for AI applications. I am currently using ChatGPT as a specific example of an AI application I'm running on Dell PowerEdge C- Series. Using ChatGPT with Dell PowerEdge C- Series helps me to build my software for the DevOps pipeline.

The best feature Dell PowerEdge C- Series offers is the speed. The speed of Dell PowerEdge C- Series stands out for me as it is much faster compared to other servers I have used.

My typical use case for PowerEdge C is as an application server.

The best features of this solution are that it's easy to implement and manage. I assess the balance of performance, flexibility, and scalability provided by this solution as good.

Regarding customization options, they are very open for customization. We can customize as per our requirements with the Dell PowerEdge C.

There are a few bugs in PowerEdge C that require some configurational settings to be done with the help of a support team when we reconfigure the solution. This is one area where they can improve the performance of the server or implement some application improvements in the solution to make it easier for end users to implement properly.

I have approximately five to six years of experience with PowerEdge C.

I would rate technical support from Dell an eight out of ten, where one is the worst support and ten is the best support.

I used a different product before PowerEdge C.

The major difference between the previous product and PowerEdge C was the performance of the product and the support.

I have seen an ROI from PowerEdge C as expected.

The ROI is primarily in terms of time saving.

My experience with the pricing of this tool is that it's in mid-range. They have good competitors in the market who are offering better pricing, so there is scope for improvement in this area.

My advice to other people looking into using PowerEdge C is that it needs small fine-tuning. With that fine-tuning, it gives the best performance, but when it comes with a basic solution from the OEM, it needs some adjustments to give the best output. I rate PowerEdge C an eight out of ten.

I usually support and manage a virtual stack. My customers run business applications, VDI sessions, and various other things from it. The use case varies depending on customer needs, covering everything except the federal space.

The solution is all about compute. The solutions are easy to handle, priced correctly, reliable, and dependable. Cisco is similar but more complex to configure and usually more expensive. My team supports a lot of Dell, focusing on hybrid environments like Azure Stack, splitting workloads between high compute needs in databases, which are expensive in the cloud, and other workloads in the cloud.

With reference architectures like VX rack, the update process is quite painful. They could automate or simplify it more. There are prerequisites to go through, and that's usually the only time-consuming pain we encounter.

I have not used the solution in the last 12 months.

The stability has been great.

The scalability is great with no issues. Per node, we achieve about one hundred twenty users in a VDI environment. I haven't seen us come close to capacity or anything like that.

Everything is good with customer service. I have no major issues. A lot of their support is offshore. It's not bad; it's just not as easy as onshore. I rated it three and a half out of five.

I would rate the initial setup as an eight if easy is the higher number.

The cost to support and maintain the solution is significant. Supporting an HP environment costs more than a Dell environment. Cisco is close, however, its upfront cost is a bit higher. I find Dell easier to support, configure, and maintain, and it runs in a stable, efficient manner. More of my organization is certified on Dell than on HP, making it easier to partner with them.

A rating of eight out of ten is fair, as I usually don't give anything a ten. A score of seven means you're doing a good job. An eight means you're going above and beyond. A ten would have to be free. The overall product rating is eight out of ten.

I do not spend much time on deployment; the time that is spent is on configuring the cluster and the virtualization solution, not for the hardware itself.

It takes two to three hours to deploy Dell PowerEdge C-Series.

Usually two engineers participate in the deployment.

I see it is absolutely beneficial to have a return on investment after implementing Dell PowerEdge C-Series at about 20%.

I am still working with Dell and HP, so I am using Dell, HPE, and other vendors.

I have not used Advanced Thermal Management solutions of Dell PowerEdge C-Series.

We have not had help from the advanced security features of Dell PowerEdge C-Series to save our data.

Before we deploy any solution for our customers we always keep in mind the requirements and select the features that are in line with VMware’s technology. For example we have chosen a Dell solution based on one customer specific needs and budget. This involves collaborating with Dell and VMware in order to get all the necessary licence. At the same time, we have also opted for the PowerEdge blade series which helps us in consolidating workloads and maximising output power. Our main use is to select solutions that fit the requirements of the customers while ensuring full support from Dell and maintaining confidentiality.

We have realised that instead of purchasing multiple servers with fewer cores, opting for higher series with more cores is a viable option that has been held to reduce the footprint in our data centre. This has also helped in generating green data centres and requires less cooling and maintenance.

The PowerEdge series has a powerful feature for remote server management called the iDRAC feature.

With the tool, we can easily upgrade and ensure compatibility between operating systems, hardwares and drivers. Among other features, the hardware also stands out because it is certified and aligns with the processor manufacturers like Intel. This enables them to offer the latest options which are not available with other suppliers. 

There has been an increase in quality issues.

I have been using PowerEdge C for the past 3 years.

It is indeed, very stable.

It is satisfactory for our users and we don’t have any issues in scaling the same.

Deployment of the solution typically takes one day for physical setup and connection without virtualization. For more complex setups like the DXL stack, it may take around 3-4 hours to bring everything online. I would rate it 9 out of 10, as it is very simple to set up.

Overall, I would rate the solution 8 out of 10. I would recommend it but it is not free. We have been using it as a part of our proposals and promotions for all the customers.

PowerEdge C has a moderate pricing, which makes it come across as an optimized product for our company's clients' budget. If our clients have enough budget, then the product can be scaled up, including its performance, storage, and memory, making it a high computing type of server. If our company's clients have a low budget, we customize the tool to retain the flexibility of PowerEdge C, which is one of the use cases I recommend to others. The product's moderate pricing allows for the optimization of the solution based on our company's clients' requirements. PowerEdge C is usually deployed in the banking sector, public sector, multinationals, and telecom sector, and the product can be recommended to different institutions based on their requirements due to the flexibility to meet the requests of our company's clients.

The most valuable feature of the solution stems from the fact that the product is not pricey. Dell and VMware produce the product with heavy integration capabilities, making it easy to manage the deployment while also being easy to use with other different HCI solutions, where the management part is easy. In general, I recommend it to others since it is easy to use, offers flexibility, and is easy to manage.

Nowadays, the product has started to become a bit expensive in the market, at a time when Nutanix offers virtualization software, which is even cheaper when compared to VMware. In order to penetrate into the market, the pricing of servers like PowerEdge C and other HCI solutions should be lower. Price-wise, I would want to see the product offer more flexibility. The hypervisor offered by ESXi is not compatible with different types of hypervisors. In the case of Nutanix AHV, the hypervisor is compatible with the other types of hypervisors. The aforementioned aspects need to be considered for improvement in the product to achieve high scalability.

There is some trouble with the stability part of the product, making it an area where improvements are required.

I have been using PowerEdge C for two years.

The scalability of the product is good since it offers high performance and capacity.

I am unsure about the number of my company's customers using the solution.

In total, there are around 200 people in my company, but to manage the server and to take care of the areas that revolve around the server, which includes increasing the server storage size or aspects related to SaaS or cloud solutions, there are around 15 members, consisting of solution engineers and deployment engineers, who take care of both, the pre-sales part and the solution's deployment part.

As the support for the product is available on-site, we did not face any problems with the technical team.

The product's initial setup phase is easy, especially considering the virtualization capabilities it offers.

The solution is deployed on an on-premises model. My company has also dealt with cloud-based servers, such as Dell VCS. If our company's clients want the solution deployed on the cloud, then we are able to do it for them.

The deployment process of the solution is not complex in my experience, and it is very easy to understand.

During the deployment phase, the operating system is not incorporated with the servers. The first thing we do is deploy the type of operating system our company's clients want. Our company usually deploys the servers in an environment, after which we deploy an operating system on it. If our company's clients also want a virtualization concept, we also refer to the ESXi or any kind of software for virtualization on the server.

In my company, around eight to nine teams are involved with the deployment phase of the product.

From an ROI perspective, the product is good.

There is a need to pay towards the annual subscription-based licensing model offered by the solution. The product is moderately priced. Price is a critical issue, and it is always good to have moderately priced solutions.

PowerEdge C is good if someone wants a high-performing product but is moderately priced.

I rate the overall tool a nine out of ten.

PowerEdge is a server from Dell, and we use these servers primarily for our customers for installation, processing, and in the server class and data center.

PowerEdge serves as the server solution for installations and processing in our data center. It provides the necessary infrastructure for our operations.

Cost is an important factor needing improvement. The pricing of PowerEdge solutions is very high nowadays. 

Additionally, technical support requires improvement as there can be delays and challenges when support personnel are required to resolve issues on-site.

We have been working with PowerEdge for about ten years.

I rate the stability of PowerEdge at nine on a scale from one to ten.

The scalability of PowerEdge is good. I rate it at eight on a scale from one to ten.

Technical support is somewhere around six or seven on a scale from one to ten. The challenge is that support is not always immediately available, particularly if the customer site lacks necessary identification or is at a branch location. This requires our IT staff to execute remote instructions, presenting difficulties.

I have not calculated ROI for PowerEdge, so it is difficult for me to say.

PowerEdge is quite a costly solution, and I would rate the pricing around seven or eight on a scale from one to ten with ten being the most expensive.

In our company, we run Python on top of PowerEdge C server. My company optimizes PowerEdge C to provide Python features or capabilities to our customers.

The most valuable feature of the solution is the hardware resiliency it offers. The product also offers iDRAC software that helps users manage PowerEdge C in a simpler manner.

The need to update the firmware and check if there is any bug in the product is one of the areas where Dell PowerEdge C falls short and needs to make improvements.

I have been using PowerEdge C for a year or two. I use the solution's latest version.

It is a stable solution. Stability-wise, I rate the solution an eight out of ten.

The time required to deploy the solution depends on the requirements of its users. Getting the power on takes several hours, but if PowerEdge C's deployment involves more complexities, it may take a day or two to complete the deployment process.

PowerEdge C is a product that is priced at a medium range, so it is not too expensive.

We use the product to provide computing power for our virtual machines running on VMware. These servers are part of our local cloud infrastructure, where we host applications and manage workloads efficiently.

The platform's most valuable features are high performance and reliability. They have consistently met our performance needs and have been trouble-free regarding physical and application issues.

One area for improvement is the customer support process. The specialization in support, while effective, can lead to delays and complexity in getting issues resolved. It would be beneficial if the support process were more streamlined.

We have been using PowerEdge C since 2021.

The product stability has been excellent. 

The platform is scalable. We are expanding rapidly, and the servers are handling increased workloads well.

Customer service and support have been generally helpful but can be slow due to the need to navigate different specialists. The process could be faster.

We previously used Amazon Web Services (AWS) but switched to PowerEdge C for better pricing and control over our infrastructure.

The initial setup was complex. An integrator handled the deployment, and while the process was long, the integrator managed the initial installation. Subsequent issues required specialized support.

We took help from a third-party vendor for the product implementation. 

The product costs can be high, especially for disks and other components.

We evaluated other options but ultimately chose Dell for its reliability and performance. We are considering Cisco solutions for future expansion.
