Microsoft Defender for Endpoint Reviews

I primarily use it for myself and my businesses as a protection solution.

The most valuable feature is the protection given via the antivirus.

The solution needs to improve its ransomware. It's not so good. It could also use some general performance optimization for the computers the solution operates on, to ensure it does not slow down the devices.

The solution is stable.

The solution is easily scalable. I'm always trying to increase the usage to maximize the capabilities of the product offering. As soon as new capabilities appear I will expand usage to include them. In terms of physical expansion to other devices, I already have the solution on all of my devices.

I've never needed to contact technical support.

I did previously use a different solution, but it was more convenient to work with Defender. I wanted to use the same provider. I'm using the Microsoft operating system and Microsoft applications. It seemed to be a logical step. 

Defender is integrated into the operating system. It's integrated with everything. You don't have to spend time analyzing what you have to do to be sure that the integration is okay between the security tool and all the other apps. This, from my point of view, is the main advantage.

Initially, a few years ago, the setup was not so easy. Now, with Windows 10, it's automatic. It's already within the system, so now we don't have to worry. Initially, before Windows 10, we had to install it. It was not so complicated, but a bit more complicated than now where you don't have to do anything at all. Originally, the deployment took about 10-15 minutes. You only need one person for deployment and maintenance. With the 2000 version, maintenance is almost nonexistent. You just follow up and approve the updates. It's a fraction of the time.

I implemented the solution myself.

You have a standard licensing fee. As far as I know, there are no other costs above and beyond this.

We are using the public cloud deployment model of the solution.

I would recommend the solution. I would rate it ten out of ten.

I find the layer protection and real-time protection very useful because when I launch a program, I always have a notification and an alarm. Sometimes I am on a program on Windows Defender and sometimes on Kaspersky and it shows up on whatever I am using. I like the real-time protection features. Windows Defender will detect if there's a threat like a Trojan or something like that but Kaspersky lets it run normally.

This solution is not perfect. Sometimes it detects something and it's not a threat. The good news is that you can restore something and analyze it better and you can restore the file and copy it or disable the defender and run it again.

The system can always be simplified and have a better integration check. More detailed reports would be good. When it does the integrated check, it just shows if the system is okay but I want to know what happened.

The solution is stable but sometimes when you do a security update when it starts, you see the hinge process in Task Manager. It also sometimes corrupts the PC. You need to either start it or recalibrate. If the installation happened without it starting, like patching without starting, it's better.

With Windows Defender, it will want to do these updates so that when you install an update it has to be done with a Windows update and then you can start. If you can manage it easily in a natural phase like updating security, ejecting and installing, it's better. Like checking a box.

I'm not sure about scalability. I think if you have an enterprise license and more features in an enterprise package it will be good. We have about 200 users.

I haven't personally used technical support.

The initial setup was easy. It's easy to install and maintain.

The majority of the updates are really good. 

I would rate this solution eight out of 10.

I primarily use Defender for web protection.

I've been using Defender for over ten years.

Defender is stable enough and is competitive with the other products in the market.

The scalability could be improved - I would rate it between a seven and an eight.

The initial setup was not complicated.

Defender is available on a yearly subscription.

Defender is an ideal solution for web security. I would rate it as seven out of ten.

We use this solution to protect and blocks any threats. We use it for protection.

This solution is not secure, which is why I have moved to Linux.

Microsoft Defender for Endpoint could be more secure.

I have been using Microsoft Defender for Endpoint for two years.

I have not yet used technical support.

It comes preinstalled with the OS. There is no need for any deployment. There is no installation or any other steps needed.

The installation of the host OS was easy.

I installed the OS myself.

There is no licensing fee. It comes included with the Windows license.

I don't recommend this solution.

I would rate Microsoft Defender for Endpoint a five out of ten.

I primarily use this solution for the safety of my PC. It protects me against ransomware and other types of viruses.

Microsoft Defender has indicated problems with some websites that I was able to remove.

A few years ago, when I was using a different product, I was affected by a virus that destroyed everything. Since using Microsoft Defender, I have not had this kind of problem.

The most valuable feature is that it helps protect me against any type of virus that might attack my system.

The performance is good.

Lowering the price would be an improvement.

I have been using Microsoft Defender Antivirus for the last three years.

Stability-wise, this is a strong product and it works better than other anti-virus solutions.

Prior to this solution, I had used different anti-virus products. One of them was a solution by Kaspersky, which I used for a long time. When I was using it, my PC was running very slow. Sometimes, I was not able to access legitimate websites because Kaspersky blocked them. I found that it blocked many websites that were legally valid, which was frustrating.

Because of these reasons, I switched products.

I used another product after Kaspersky for one year but it was not good either.

Installing this solution on the computer is easy to do.

While expensive, the service it provides is good, which is why we are using it.

Microsoft Defender is an expensive product in my country.

I would recommend my friends and colleagues use Microsoft Defender because it always protects us against ransomware and viruses. 

In summary, this is a great product.

I would rate this solution an eight out of ten.

Microsoft Windows Defender is used to protect against malware.

The biggest benefit to Windows Defender is that it is built-in to the operating system by Microsoft.

I would like to see improvements made to how it secures activities on web pages.

Web security in general should be improved.

I use Microsoft Defender for Endpoint for an antivirus solution.

Microsoft Defender for Endpoint could provide us with a more holistic approach, such as collaboration. They can provide us with an environment from where we can manage all the endpoints from one central location, such as overall management.

I have used Microsoft Defender for Endpoint within the last 12 months.

The solution has good performance, I have not seen a problem.

I have used ClowdStrike previously.

The initial setup is easy.

I did the implementation of Microsoft Defender for Endpoint.

The price of Microsoft Defender for Endpoint is reasonable. Other solutions are more expensive, such as ClowdStrike.

Microsoft Defender for Endpoint only provides a basic level of security. I don't find it overly useful or appealing. I can trade it with another endpoint security solution. It's an addition to other endpoint security solutions.

I rate Microsoft Defender for Endpoint a five out of ten.

Microsoft Defender for Endpoint is used for protection against threats.

The reporting in Microsoft Defender for Endpoint should improve. The solution has limited features.

I have been using Microsoft Defender for Endpoint for approximately three years.

Microsoft Defender for Endpoint is stable.

The scalability is good.

This solution is part of an enterprise license we have.

There are a lot of other products on the market that have better features.

If you have a mid-sized organization, the solution works well. However, in a large size organization, there are challenges.
