Miro is an end-to-end process mapping tool that facilitates the creation of process documentation. It allows users to outline various process steps and add annotations to describe each step in detail. Additionally, it serves as a collaborative platform for business analysts to work together, review, and approve the documented processes. It also enables users to provide demos to customers to ensure a clear understanding of the processes.
Solution Architect at a consultancy with 10,001+ employees
A desktop-based application, allowing the creation of multiple flows, but should provide a mobile version
Pros and Cons
- "It is a versatile tool suitable for various tasks, including process modeling."
- "The solution could be available on mobile."
What is our primary use case?
What is most valuable?
It is a versatile tool suitable for various tasks, including process modeling. It is flexible when saving multiple formats, not just XML. It provides this offering, unlike other platforms like Cloud.io or SIP Chart.
Additionally, it is a desktop-based application, allowing for the creation of multiple flows that can be easily accessed and edited. In contrast, other platforms like Product.io may have limitations, such as the inability to reopen previously built flows once logged off, necessitating a rebuild each time.
What needs improvement?
The solution could be available on mobile.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have used Miro from February to September 2023. I worked on a project for six months.

- "Miro significantly enhances brainstorming sessions."
- "The product subscription is very expensive. The pricing could be better."
What is our primary use case?
Using the SCRUM methodology, we use Miro to co-create content for software development and meetings, such as reviews and retrospectives.
What is most valuable?
The principal feature of the platform is the capability of co-creating content and sharing invites with all people in the organization and outside. It makes it very easy to manage meetings, and the outcomes are excellent.
What needs improvement?
The product subscription is very expensive. The pricing could be better.

There is a learning curve for the initial setup process.

Easy integrations, in-built templates, and lots of training videos
Pros and Cons
- "Integrations with so many other tools make this platform highly useful."
- "Maybe at some point, Miro should be able to use AI to provide analysis from the brainstorming sessions or files fed into it."
What is our primary use case?
We have set up many of our marketing operations process charts on this. We do privacy workflows, customer lifecycles, cross-channel campaign flows, etc.
Our leadership loves Miro. This has helped us to audit our workflows, use it for team meetings where we are able to review the same sitting in our remote locations, identify choke points and areas for optimizations and lastly, maintain it to see the latest version of our workflows.
Earlier, we were doing this on Excel, however, it was time-consuming and not a very inspirational too.
How has it helped my organization?
As mentioned earlier, Miro has helped us to lay down our complex processes in one place without having to make a time-consuming PowerPoint or Word document. Most times, these workflows are so self-explanatory that we can just distribute them among our team members. We have used Miro for the following:
1. Team building activities: We can ask team members to participate in activities where multiple teams can work together on the same board
2. Brainstorming activities:
3. Laying down complex operations flowchart
4. Remote workshops conducted
What is most valuable?
The solution has many valuable aspects, including:
- Easy to build flowcharts with just drag and drop capabilities
- Integrations with so many other tools make this platform highly useful
- Prebuilt templates
- Ability to share files through various channels and formats
- Easy flowing. Much better that Mural where the user experience was a bit clunky
- Ability for multiple people top work on the same board at the same time -- hence very useful for team brainstorming sessions
- Competitive pricing
- Lot of training videos available
- Easy to scale
- Ease of integration with other platforms
What needs improvement?
Maybe at some point, Miro should be able to use AI to provide analysis from the brainstorming sessions or files fed into it. More prebuilt templates will also help (though many useful ones are already available).
Miro is slightly slow in uploading, and hence it's not super fast. If you have too many files, then it might be even slower. Miro, on the other hand, is mostly available in the Microsoft package, and hence no additional license is needed.
Lastly, maybe we could have more options for designs like FigJam.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have used Miro for the last three years at least. I have used both free and paid versions. I was impressed by even the free version while the paid was even more comprehensive.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
The stability is great. I would rate it 90/100.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
This solution is scalable. I'd rate it 100/100.
How are customer service and support?
Technical support is great.
How would you rate customer service and support?
