Our primary purpose for utilizing Qumulo was to provide a file-sharing platform for our marketing department, which also served as an archive for their videos, pictures, and other assets related to past events and marketing campaigns. They had accumulated a significant amount of older data, which they accessed through this platform, while also utilizing it as their current working file-sharing system.

Qumulo served as a file-sharing tool that stored our data across two clusters, one located at our production site and the other at our DR site. We implemented replication to ensure the protection of our data. All of our users, including those in the marketing department who primarily used Macs, were able to access the shared files. In essence, Qumulo functioned solely as a means of file storage.

The most valuable feature of Qumulo is the ability to share files and reliability.

One aspect of Qumulo that I hoped to see improved was its software upgrade process, which did see significant progress during my usage. Initially, upgrading the software resulted in several minutes of system downtime. However, by the time I departed last summer, the downtime had reduced to mere ten seconds. Although I am unsure if Qumulo has yet achieved a completely outage-free upgrade, I simply performed the upgrades early in the morning before the marketing department began its workday, so any downtime was inconsequential.

I have been using Qumulo for approximately three years.

I rate the stability of Qumulo a nine out of ten.

It has been easy to grow and add new clusters.

I rate the scalability of Qumulo an eight out of ten.

The support I received was excellent.

The initial deployment was straightforward.

The price of Qumulo is reasonable. 

When we evaluated other options the reasonable price of Qumulo was one of the factors of why we choose it.

My advice to others would be for them to try the solution out.

I rate Qumulo an eight out of ten.

We used it as a sort of centralized media storage on-prem. We only use the hardware on-premises at the moment.

Mainly cost savings on the network level, as we no longer have to scan different file systems since it's all on one Qumulo cluster now.

The valuable features include ease of use, the ability to update without downtime and speed, particularly IO speed in the storage and file systems.

In the next release, I would like to see maybe the ability to have more control at a terminal level of the file system using more standard UNIX commands.

I have been using Qumulo for the last seven months. 

It is a very stable product. I never faced any issues. It's been very reliable.

It is a highly scalable solution. There are around 200 users in my company. Moreover, it is very easy to maintain. 

The customer service and support team is very good. It is really easy to reach out to them.

We used Dell EMC solutions and also IBM Quantum. We haven't switched to Qumulo; we just added it in parallel. We like Qumulo's support and maintenance, and everything works smoothly.

The initial setup was really good. It took about a day to deploy the solution. It is deployed in one location in one environment. 

I deployed it myself. I deployed the hardware on-site with remote assistance for the configuration, and it went very well. There were a couple of people to help rack up equipment and lift stuff, but apart from that, I did it myself.

We have seen a return on investment from working with Qumulo. We have saved a lot of time and resources on staff coverage issues, which has resulted in cost savings for us.

The pricing is very good, and the licensing model is easy to understand. It's just the standard licensing.

It's a good option to go with because it's easy to use and it saves time.

Overall, I would rate the product an eight out of ten. 

We use Qumulo to backup archives and for surveillance.

The data protection algorithm to protect the data between the nodes has been the most valuable feature. The integration with backup platforms such as Veeam and Veritas has also been valuable.

The solution could improve availability and improve data protection or data services such as compression of deduplication. In a future release, we'd like to have more cloud API integrations.

We have used this solution for three years.

I would rate this solution a seven out of ten. 

We use Qumulo to promote object-based storage for our users.

The ratio of total operational cost to complexity versus feature set is very good.

Qumulo should continue to expand automation and orchestration capabilities.

I have been using Qumulo for 18 months.

The stability of the solution is good. It has been functioning well.

It takes us approximately a week to deploy Qumulo in the data centers.

The price of the solution is in the middle range compared to others. We look at the price per terabyte.

I would advise others to make sure they do a proof of concept or a trial. If they are using Qumulo for object-based storage, ensure that they fully test and validate both the use case as well as their operational requirements before.

I rate Qumulo a seven out of ten.

We are a reseller and Qumulo is one of the storage solutions that we are dealing with. It is used for software-defined file storage.

I am currently researching more use cases so that we can better sell it in the market.

The most valuable feature is real-time analytics. The data that you receive from the storage, such as the IOPS, is an essential feature. This is the main competitive advantage against the other products on the market.

Qumulo can be integrated with AWS or Google Cloud.

This product is not available in the Azure marketplace, which is not a good thing.

The price of the software is a bit expensive, so a reduction in cost would make it more competitive.

We have been reselling Qumulo for approximately one year.

Qumulo is a stable product. We only have a couple of customers using it, but we plan on continuing to sell it in the future.

This solution is very scalable.

I have not had any experience with technical support.

I have not installed it myself, 100%, but I recently went through the training to install the latest version. It seems to me that it should be quite easy. This is the feedback that we have been getting.

I expect that it takes a couple of hours or less to deploy.

Overall, this is a good product and I recommend it.

We are a solution provider and Qumulo is one of the storage products that we implement for our customers. Our customers have many use cases including storing office data, audio-video, graphics, and more. Our customer base is primarily in the media and entertainment business

The feature that I like most is the analytics part of the file system. It offers good insight into the process including what and where things are happening, including which users and what files are involved.

They have implemented the most important features and they're steadily enhancing it. The update schedule and roadmap are such that every two weeks, there are new features being released.

There is plenty of room for improvement.

In the future, I would like to see non-disruptive updates.

Switching our or replacing nodes should be easier to do.

We have been working with Qumulo for about two years.

Our customers for this product are small to mid-sized companies.

We have been in touch with technical support and I think that they're very good. They are very responsive and very knowledgeable.

We work with a variety of different products and vendors for storage solutions. We're selling Dell EMC storage, Unity, Isilon, Qumulo, Pure Storage, and more recently, Cloudian.

Compared to Isilon, they have only a subset of the features.

The initial setup is easy. The setup of the cluster itself, without the hardware installation, can be done within an hour. As long as somebody has the proper networking skills then it will be easy for them to set it up.

We have our own team of five people who handle the maintenance for our customers.

The mastery of the market in this space comes down to scale and from my perspective, Qumulo and Isilon are the only two products in the market. My preference is Qumulo and I recommend it.
