An excellent solution for those planning to use it from a container standpoint
Pros and Cons
  • "From a container-based standpoint, it offers excellent scalability to its users...I would tell those planning to use the solution that, from a container standpoint, it's excellent."
  • "The solution needs to improve overall from a CSPM standpoint since they can't compete with Wiz or Orca."

What is our primary use case?

The solution is used for runtime security of containers, cloud security, CSPM, and CWPP.

What is most valuable?

The solution's runtime security and Falco are the two features I found to be the most valuable ones. So, Falco is their open-source tool for rules and policies.

What needs improvement?

The solution needs to improve overall from a CSPM standpoint since they can't compete with Wiz or Orca.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have an experience two years of with Sysdig Secure. Our company is a partner and reseller of Sysdig.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

It's a very stable product. We should decide whether we are talking about containers or the cloud. So, if we're talking about it from a container standpoint, it is a stable product. If we're talking about it from a cloud standpoint, then essentially not a stable product.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

From a container-based standpoint, it offers excellent scalability to its users, while from a cloud-based and security standpoint, it is not too great.

How are customer service and support?

The technical support offered by the vendor is good. The technical support is very knowledgeable. I rate the technical support team an eight or nine out of ten.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

How was the initial setup?

I rate the solution's initial setup a six out of ten. So, one needs to have good and dedicated personnel or a team to ensure it is up and running.

Only one person is required if the deployment is being carried out for a small team. However, a handful of people would be required if the deployment is being carried out for an extensive team.

The deployment process typically involves various roles, including security engineers and cloud architects. These professionals may need to have visibility into the underlying STL stack to ensure a secure and efficient deployment.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The solution's pricing depends on the agents. So, on average, it's around 80K. In short, the price depends on the environment of its user.

What other advice do I have?

I would tell those planning to use the solution that, from a container standpoint, it's excellent. If you're looking at it for other things, other vendors might be able to offer you better tools. Overall, I rate the solution an eight out of ten.

An easy-to-use threat detection solution that can touch so many areas of DevSecOps
Pros and Cons
  • "I see Sysdig as the most comprehensive solution in comparison to its competitors."
  • "They should make it specific with a couple of features only."

What is our primary use case?

I got the product for Dell SecOps. I am also interested in Kubernetes Stack and managed that product because it gives importance to the CI/CD pipeline security and most importantly the Falco Project. There are lots of big brands that contribute to Falco so I give importance to it. Moreover, Sysdig is also the founder of Wireshark and I think they are creating importance in the security area.

What is most valuable?

I see Sysdig as the most comprehensive solution in comparison to its competitors. For example, Sysdig can touch Cloud Security and allows you to add a user. I am a Sysdig user and it can be connected to Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud platform and they can gain visibility into the cloud. Also, Sysdig can touch so many areas of DevSecOps. For example, Sysdig Secure can inspect the Terraform Configs and also can be used for image scanning and benchmarking to your Kubernetes. Sysdig can regulate you to the SecOps of CIS.

What needs improvement?

It's such a comprehensive solution. Maybe we can decrease the features. They should make it specific with a couple of features only.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using this solution for approximately six months.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

It is a scalable solution. I will give it a nine out of ten.

How are customer service and support?

The support team is awesome.

How was the initial setup?

It's easy to set up because there's enough documentation in the portal and you can use links and comments to implement.

You can install the products quickly, but if you want to gain total visibility totally, you should wait sometimes, for example, three or four days.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

Prisma Cloud is not so comprehensive. Aqua Security can be a good competitor but I think because of Falco, Sysdig is more routable.

What other advice do I have?

I definitely suggest Falco for the threat detection on Kubernetes, but Sysdig is a more enterprise solution because it can differ from customer to customer.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

On-premises
