Migration can be done remotely for desktops and notebooks
Pros and Cons
  • "The tool's most valuable feature is its stability. When we planned the migration, about 70 percent of it was done remotely. We encountered some incidents, which were resolved quickly."
  • "The product needs options for personalization and self-development. AI functions are also another area where improvement can be made. We're starting to use these features, but there's room for further development and integration."

What is most valuable?

When we started using Windows 11 on our notebooks and desktops, we had no problems with the tools our users needed, so overall, it was a good transition for us. Most users in our company use Windows 11 for office work, mostly from home a couple of days a week. They mainly use it to manage information with Excel and Word, save files in the cloud, and access corporate activities via VPN.

The tool's most valuable feature is its stability. When we planned the migration, about 70 percent of it was done remotely. We encountered some incidents, which were resolved quickly.

What needs improvement?

The product needs options for personalization and self-development. AI functions are also another area where improvement can be made. We're starting to use these features, but there's room for further development and integration.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using the product since June 2023.

How are customer service and support?

We have a Microsoft partner in Brazil who handles local support. However, for issues that require level three or level four support, they initiate a process with Microsoft to address the problem. I need to follow up on this process.

How was the initial setup?

I rate the tool's deployment an eight out of ten. It took six months to complete. The first step was to analyze and classify the users based on their needs and priorities. We categorized users into high, medium, or low priority based on their requirements. For example, users managing industrial information or accessing critical systems for IoT were given special attention.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I'm not directly involved in the financial aspects, but based on feedback from colleagues, Microsoft is flexible with pricing and addressing other licensing needs.

What other advice do I have?

I rate the overall product a ten out of ten. I began my career using Linux many years ago. In Brazil, I witnessed the evolution of Windows, starting with Windows 3.1, then Windows Workgroup, and later Windows Server. Microsoft introduced Outlook, marking a successful journey for the company. Their support has been instrumental in the standardization and development of tools.

The deployment takes 30 to 40 minutes.

What about the implementation team?

I deployed it myself.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

It is expensive. The license is not priced per month or per year. It's a proprietary license that costs high.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I previously used Windows 10.

What other advice do I have?

I would definitely recommend using Windows 11 because it is easy to use, and more options are available.

A stable and scalable solution with good technical support
Pros and Cons
  • "We are migrating from Windows 10 to Windows 11 due to end-of-life, security concerns, and end-of-support. The tool's configuration is good and we are satisfied with it since it's a Microsoft product. We didn't face any hurdles in using the tool. We didn't feel much difference with both Windows products. The solution is good because in IT we want to secure our data. Nowadays, data is the most valuable thing. If your data is secured, then you are secured. I think that everyone has to move to Windows 11 since Windows 10 is facing end-of-life and end-of-sales, probably by 2024."
  • "Whenever there is an update, a black screen appears which is due to patches being installed in the background."

What needs improvement?

Whenever there is an update, a black screen appears which is due to patches being installed in the background.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been working with the product for more than an year.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I would rate the tool's stability a nine out of ten.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I would rate the product's scalability a nine out of ten and my company has about 2000 users for Windows 9 and Windows 10. We will shift to Windows 11 soon by next year.

How are customer service and support?

Technical support is good. However, we do not need technical support because we can Google and find support.

How was the initial setup?

I would rate the product's setup a nine out of ten since it's easy. The tool's deployment takes around 20-25 minutes to complete.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

My company purchases licenses in bulk for 2000 users.

What other advice do I have?

I would rate the solution a nine out of ten.

A solution that has helped me with my academics through a useful suite of tools
Pros and Cons
  • "It has helped with analytics."
  • "Windows 11 needs to improve the speed with which it loads programs"

What is our primary use case?

I use Windows 11 for school. I use Word, Excel, Outlook, and a number of other Microsoft products.

What is most valuable?

It has helped with analytics and everything that I need Windows products for. If I need to take notes, I use Word, and for analytics, I use Excel.

What needs improvement?

Windows 11 needs to improve the speed with which it loads programs

In addition, when you go to analytics to load analytics features and click on "analyze using server," that interface comes up blank 90% of the time.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've used Windows for about five years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The solution is very stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I rate Windows 11's scalability an eight out of ten.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup was straightforward. It goes from one step to another, and then you're done.

What was our ROI?

So far, Windows 11 has been good for my academic purposes.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The solution is affordable.

What other advice do I have?

I use Power BI, and there is a comparison between it and Excel. About 80 formulas and functions in Excel are exactly the same as what I have in Power BI. Some functions are specific to Power BI, but Power BI needs improvements in offering something different from Excel.

However, Microsoft is Microsoft, and it's the most widely used OS. I don't know what else to recommend if you don't want to use Windows 11. I rate Windows 11 a nine out of ten.

Useful to handle huge projects and can be used to involve people from multiple countries
Pros and Cons
  • "The artificial intelligence capabilities of the product have supported my organization."
  • "My problem with Windows 11 stems from the fact that I have to update it every other day."

What is most valuable?

The solution's most valuable feature stems from the fact that it has been a huge product for Australia's air traffic control system for many years. People use the tool for huge projects.

What needs improvement?

Improvements are required in the area of integration and the quality offered because my company has a lot of pressure from our customers that some updates be released every few months.

My problem with Windows 11 stems from the fact that I have to update it every other day. Every week I have to take care of the upgrades and the patches associated with the product. From an improvement perspective, the frequency of updates should be lesser.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Windows 11 for many years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Stability-wise, I rate the solution a nine out of ten. With the tool, we are able to control airplane traffic.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

In terms of scalability, I would say that the product has the ability to control Australia's air traffic, so the system is used to control the whole site and the air traffic in every city.

At my site, I can say that there are around 500 users of the solution.

How was the initial setup?

For deployment, my company just puts everything into IPAM and uses Ansible script for downloading and deployment. My company uses the cloud services offered by Azure to deploy some systems on the cloud so the customer can divide the systems in the cloud so that they can access the systems from the local cloud.

For now, my company uses Ansible during the product's deployment phase.

When there is a new release of the product, it takes us one week to fully deploy it. Windows 11 is a huge product.

What other advice do I have?

My company handles huge projects and involves many people from multiple countries. My area of work is to accept all the component changes every day. I also deal with areas like integration and current trends and provide the latest updates to everyone in my company.

My company has a separate team to handle the area of security because we work for the government and military, so the security level needs to be very high.

I recommend the tool to others because it provides most of the functions for many users and is also very friendly. Developers mostly like Linux, and they like it more than Windows because it's very clean and offers good user control. With Windows, sometimes the tool gets corrupted.

In terms of benefits, my company uses a lot of Windows-based applications like Outlook, Word, Excel, and emails for normal communication purposes because almost everyone knows how to use Windows, which provides ease of communication.

The artificial intelligence capabilities of the product have supported my organization.

Since last year, I have used OpenAI assets to improve my development efficiency by 100 percent. Windows 11 is a very good tool, and now, a lot of developers are opening up to OpenAI. You can also choose the language in seconds.

I rate the tool an eight out of ten.

  • "Windows 11 is quite expensive compared to other products."

What is our primary use case?

I use Windows 11 on my laptop to use Outlook or Microsoft applications.

What is most valuable?

Windows 11 is now more stable and doesn't crash like its earlier versions.

What needs improvement?

Windows 11 is quite expensive compared to other products. Microsoft Windows 11 has to improve compared to Mac OS, which is very stable and GUI-based.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Windows 11 for more than four years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I rate the solution an eight out of ten for stability.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Windows 11 is a scalable solution.

How are customer service and support?

Microsoft's technical support team has responded quickly and resolved our issues.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup of the solution is very easy, and anybody can do it.

What about the implementation team?

Setting up the product is very easy. You need to have the OS image or CD. I believe most laptops have Windows preloaded on them. You have to start with that image, and then it'll ask for basic information, such as language, storage information, and other preferences.

What was our ROI?

Windows 11 is a very user-friendly solution. Anyone can get used to the tool and easily install any application. Microsoft support is really good. Windows 11 is more stable compared to its earlier versions.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

We need to make a one-time payment for Windows 11.

On a scale from one to ten, where one is cheap and ten is expensive, I rate the solution's pricing a nine out of ten.

What other advice do I have?

Since Windows 11 is the latest version, you get support from vendors and regular OS updates. I would recommend the solution to other users because it is a good solution for people looking to use it for personal use.

Overall, I rate the solution an eight to nine out of ten.

Opens new possibilities, advancements, and stability for our systems
Pros and Cons
  • "The tool's integrated antivirus program, Microsoft Defender, is enough for my purpose."
  • "Windows 11 needs to improve its pricing."

What is our primary use case?

In our daily operations, we primarily use the operating system from the client side. When it comes to hardware, we always opt for the latest version. Restarting Windows and Office also opens new possibilities, advancements, and stability for our systems. The built-in antivirus from Microsoft is also good, eliminating the need to purchase additional antivirus software.

What is most valuable?

The tool's integrated antivirus program, Microsoft Defender, is enough for my purpose.

What needs improvement?

Windows 11 needs to improve its pricing.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using the product for two years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I rate Windows 11's stability a ten out of ten.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I rate the tool's scalability a ten out of ten. My company has five to six users.

How are customer service and support?

From my experience, I've never needed to use the Microsoft support team. As long as your hardware is compatible with Windows 11, there are usually no issues. However, you may need to find solutions if you encounter problems with older hardware. However, everything should work perfectly if you have new hardware that matches the Windows 11 requirements.

How was the initial setup?

The tool's deployment is easy and takes only 15-20 minutes. The setup process is really easy. You provide basic information like your PC's name, date, and details. There's no need to search or think too much. Everything is straightforward. Even if you're not experienced, you can easily install it. You can adjust settings like time zones easily, too.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I rate the tool's pricing an eight to nine out of ten.

What other advice do I have?

It's crucial to ensure compatibility when considering hardware, especially with drivers signed specifically for Windows 11. Having hardware that is compatible with the operating system eliminates potential issues. This approach is straightforward and without any compatibility issues. While older systems may not be compatible, matching the hardware with the Windows 11 operating system for daily or business use is highly recommended.

I rate the product a ten out of ten. It is the most accurate and stable system that I have ever seen. I wouldn't advise others who want to start using Windows 11 to stick with older hardware. It's essential to have hardware that meets the minimum requirements for Windows 11. Otherwise, you may encounter issues with updates and new features. I recommend using new hardware for Windows 11 because it offers the best integration with the software and operating system.

The value lies in having a robust and capable operating system for everyday tasks, whether fieldwork or any other type of usage. In that sense, Windows 11 is a highly valuable, powerful, and familiar operating system.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

When it comes to scalability, there are different aspects to consider. From an end-user perspective, I am able to easily install and migrate my data onto a new PC. However, scalability takes on a different meaning in an enterprise context. For instance, if I want to upgrade a large number of users from Windows 10 to Windows 11, it can be a challenging task to manually update each desktop. With various products available, such as those integrated with Active Directory, you can streamline and automate the process for a thousand users or more. I would rate it eight out of ten.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I used Windows 10 previously, but my new laptop came with Windows 11, so I switched to it. One of the reasons for this switch was the need for a more secure environment. I found that the combination of the new operating system and hardware offers enhanced security and easier maintenance. These improvements contribute to a longer life expectancy for the system, which is another motivating factor.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup was quite straightforward. I would rate it nine out of ten.

What about the implementation team?

The deployment process is extremely fast and straightforward. Essentially, you just need to power on the computer, respond to a few questions, and it's ready to use.
