I agree with Larry. Both of These Platforms you refer to are visual analytical tools. The focus here is visual representation of datasets and not OLAP style reporting.
In short, the under-served business user can expect a shorter time to benefit with Tableau. If one needs only reporting I wonder if one needs either one. Data visualization and analysis is not about reporting per se
