Consolidated cloud security has reduced manual work and has automated vulnerability remediation
I elaborate on my rating of SentinelOne support by mentioning that there was some time where the troubleshooting took a longer time. In fact, there were many meetings going on. The availability of the document on the internet is on a lesser side because as an engineer, I would want to know about the troubleshooting aspects of this particular tool. When I am facing a customer, I do not prefer to bring the vendor to every call and try to resolve it, as it takes months and months. It would be better to have a training session with the engineer on site to explain and train properly. This is not the case with SentinelOne, so this is the only thing I have a complaint about. I do not have any other room for improvement to suggest within SentinelOne itself. However, I would really want the AI assistant for the threat hunting part to be more accessible. They have it, but they are making it licensed, so it is a bit on the higher end.

Uses unique technologies for container security, flexible integration but lacks good user experience
There should always be some customized reports included. The dashboard is one thing, and the second is a report. Based on that, users can assist their environment. For example, for some Terraform code, customers want end-to-end things with their tool. They don’t want multiple tools. For a specific purpose, we need to look at different tools. They will look for a solution in one platform only so that the cost can be saved. If we use multiple tools, it means we need to give access to different ports in their environment. It is basically a kind of security compromise happening. Users have a lot of ports being used. So, basically, users don’t want to use multiple tools. They want a single tool that includes multiple features. The report part was missing. Also, some kind of clarity [flow clarity] is not in the tool as of now, but they are working on it. For example, if somebody manages the tool in their environment, the tool should be user-friendly. But this tool is not user-friendly as of now. This tool needs some kind of improvement so that new users or new security engineers can understand all the things in a short period of time. They can understand what is happening and how we can provide. They are catching the customer needs and working along with their development team. For example, some of the policies customers wanted to be placed at the organization level were missing. But AccuKnox have projections as well. Some of the good things they have used are flexible to integrate with other tools. For example, not from the security point of view, but maybe CI/CD, some third-party tools helping out to optimize the container image in terms of being lightweight or having a very low surface level. Basically, it protects against surface attacks. If a heavier image is used, it takes time to upload and impacts overall application performance. So, some tools are good for optimization.

Provides centralized visibility and real-time threat detection across multiple cloud accounts
Regarding how CrowdStrike Falcon Cloud Security can be improved, I would say they can improve their support. There were a couple of cases where we needed to escalate issues in order to get proper support. That part could use some tweaking on their end. Additionally, the recent incident during the last summer literally impacted our systems. We had some of our workloads that affected the business, and it was a difficult experience. Apart from that, it is a good tool and the experience with CrowdStrike Falcon Cloud Security has been excellent. We did not find any kind of issues, but if they could improve their response to security-related incidents and provide on-time support or better understand our concerns and address them accordingly, it could be very helpful. Regarding needed improvements, I think they should enhance automatic alerting with CI/CD scanning and reporting capabilities. Additionally, it would be better to implement Falcon sensor health monitoring so agents are always active. We could know how it is behaving and how it is treating our environment. That could be a little helpful.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"SentinelOne Singularity Cloud Security offers valuable features like runtime notifications. These alerts come to my account, ensuring that if any port or component within my infrastructure is opened or compromised, I am informed immediately. It highlights issues within minutes or even seconds."
"It has a user-friendly dashboard that I can access without any difficulty."
"We like SentinelOne Singularity Cloud Security's vulnerability assessment and management features, and its vulnerability databases."
"SentinelOne Singularity Cloud Security is on top of protecting ephemeral workloads."
"The user-friendliness is the most valuable feature."
"I would rate this solution a nine out of ten."
"SentinelOne Singularity Cloud Security drastically reduces the mean time to remediate for cloud incidents by shrinking investigation and response time from hours to seconds or minutes."
"Singularity Cloud Native Security provides us with a platform to scan instances when they are getting created, and the dashboard helps us to identify the critical issues."
"The platform is strong in container and kernel-level security."
"I think the overall solution should be rated a ten out of ten."
"The most valuable features are the real-time response, which allows me to log into a machine to pull files and check signatures for malicious activities, and the ability to restrict USB block storage usage on endpoints by policy."
"CrowdStrike Falcon Cloud Security is user-friendly and provides detection transparency, allowing us to present real-time documentation to our executives clearly explaining any detected issues."
"CrowdStrike Falcon Cloud Security is user-friendly."
"There is a lot that it can do, but endpoint protection is the main thing about it. The fact that it uses machine learning and artificial intelligence to monitor and remediate the issues in real-time is probably the bread and butter of the product."
"CrowdStrike Falcon Cloud Security has nearly saved us some amount, though I am not exactly sure of the numbers since the sales team handles the financial side, and what we have gained from CrowdStrike Falcon Cloud Security is that EC2 downtime has been prevented and time has been saved considerably, around eight to ten hours per week through automatic onboarding and centralized visibility."

"Cloud security is one valuable feature. Spotlight is the other one. There is also vulnerability management and a couple of more features."

Cons

"There can be a specific type of alert showing that a new type of risk has been identified."
"The areas with room for improvement include the cost, which is higher compared to other security platforms. The dashboard can also be laggy."
"Implementing single sign-on requires a pre-class account feature, which is currently not available."
"SentinelOne currently lacks a break glass account feature, which is critical for implementing Single Sign-On."
"SentinelOne Singularity Cloud Security can improve by eliminating 100 percent of the false positives."
"To enhance the notification system's efficiency, resolved issues should be promptly removed from the portal."
"Cloud Native Security's reporting could be better. We are unable to see which images are impacted. Several thousand images have been deployed, so if we can see some application-specific information in the dashboard, we can directly send that report to the team that owns the application. We'd also like the option to download the report from the portal instead of waiting for the report to be sent to our email."
"It is not a criticism of the tool per se, but anything to help non-development resources understand some of the complexities of the cloud is always appreciated. Any additional educational resources are always helpful for security teams, especially those without a development background."
"AccuKnox platform have AI-based features, but those aren’t fully developed yet."
"The tool is expensive."
"There should be cloud storage scanning. We would like to have cloud storage vulnerability and threat management on any cloud storage."
"The improvements needed for CrowdStrike Falcon Cloud Security include reducing its high cost, which is currently quite expensive, and enhancing the executive reports that are user-friendly for technical engineers but require improvement for higher management."
"The recent incident during the last summer literally impacted our systems; we had some of our workloads that affected the business, and it was a difficult experience."
"The log scale or Humio side of it where it collects the data and expands into the XDR world still needs time to develop in terms of the way it combines the data and metadata that flows into the platform. I know they're working on it."
"The UI part needs to be improved."
"The recent incident during the last summer literally impacted our systems. We had some of our workloads that affected the business, and it was a difficult experience."
"There are no bugs because they release updates continuously. We highly appreciate that, but during hunting or running a query on different logs, the time frame has increased in the past six months. It takes longer to give us the results."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It is not that expensive. There are some tools that are double the cost of PingSafe. It is good on the pricing side."
"PingSafe is not very expensive compared to Prisma Cloud, but it's also not that cheap. However, because of its features, it makes sense to us as a company. It's fairly priced."
"PingSafe's pricing is good because it provides us with a solution."
"The tool is cost-effective."
"While I'm slightly out of touch with pricing, I know SentinelOne is much cheaper than other products."
"I would rate the cost a seven out of ten with ten being the most costly."
"Pricing is based on modules, which was ideal for us."
"SentinelOne Singularity Cloud Security is on the costlier side."
