Key features are roaming, application control and the firewall
We are partners of Aruba as well as sellers and customers. My job in the company is IP network engineer.  The roaming is a feature that works very well. In addition, the application control and firewall features are very good. These are all important features and make the product a valuable one.…

Real-time network visibility has transformed how we pinpoint LAN bottlenecks and resolve issues faster
The only area for improvement is pricing. Otherwise, the tool is great. I think the pricing is acceptable. If you are working with resellers, it makes it a little bit difficult sometimes for the reseller to be able to make too much, as the margin is not all that significant. However, we are not getting rid of Auvik Network Management (ANM). That is the only thing in my opinion that Auvik Network Management (ANM) can do a little bit better on—maybe just the pricing—but it is a great tool. We are not replacing it with anything and we are not removing it at all. It is a great tool, and we are able to monitor our own internal network as well as that of our customers. In most cases, we have not had any complaints about neither from my techs or from myself about its functionality, as it works really.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The most valuable feature is the end-user monitoring, and if there is any abnormal behavior on the machine, the administrator will be alerted."
"The roaming is a feature that works very well, and the application control and firewall features are very good, making the product a valuable one."
"I haven't heard of any issues with stability."
"Roaming feature, application control and firewall features."
"The in-app remote terminal and alerting system are Auvik's most valuable features."
"Auvik Network Management (ANM) facilitates troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving network issues and makes our jobs as service people and IT people so much easier."
"The solution provides detailed device information, including serial numbers, configurations, IP, warranty status, and when the device was purchased. This is very helpful when it comes to replacing old devices."
"The most valuable aspect of Auvik Network Management is its remote management capabilities."
"Auvik Network Management (ANM) has positively impacted my organization by giving us one place to look to get a full picture of a customer's network environment without having to jump to multiple dashboards."
"The time-to-value was instantaneous, and once we got the deployment done, it immediately allowed us to better support networks in a proactive manner."
"The appeal lies in the unified dashboard, providing a single view encompassing all aspects of my network."
"I appreciate the ability to log in to different switches with the click of a button, using the SNMP map and having that login information there, because it allows you to skip going through each IP individually and trying to log in manually."

Cons

"The dashboard could be simplified. You don't have a clear cut view and you have to dive deep into the options to gain some understanding."
"Technical support is unfortunately a little slow."
"I would like to see improvements made to the dashboard, where you can get the information with a simple click."
"The packet analyzer needs improvement."
"Onboarding devices could be easier. When you first add a device to the Auvik platform, you need to add each one by hand. It would be nice if they could automate the process where we only need to run a script."
"More capabilities in terms of default OIDs, so we can leverage more of the information from SNMP would be good to see."
"The network maps can be confusing due to the wide scope of the network, making it difficult to find specific details."
"The user interface could be less cluttered."
"Its integration with IT Glue is absolute garbage. I would never recommend it to anybody who utilizes IT Glue."
"One drawback I found with Auvik was its inability to generate clear network diagrams."
"The ability to subcategorize our inventories, between physical and VM servers, for example, would be a welcome addition."
"If the out-of-the-box price was about 30% lower, I think it would have allowed us to purchase it sooner. It definitely costs more than some of the competitors that are out there. It's also better, so I understand why it's a little bit more expensive."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The license is based on the number of users. The evaluation license is free, you can download it from the website and try it out first."
"The pricing is very good."
"It seems that the pricing is a little higher than some of the other solutions, but it also offers more value and data."
"I believe the product is fairly priced, but I would consider it a better value if it were improved in certain areas."
"The pricing of Auvik is good. If it could be less, that would be even better, but as long as they offer free devices, that is great."
"For the size of our school, it is expensive, but I understand the reason behind the pricing."
"I don't think Auvik's pricing should be based on device, which it is right now. I don't know what their market share is or how they compete with Domotz, but if they want to stay competitive, Auvik should have simpler pricing."
"The pricing for Auvik Network Management (ANM) is great; it is comparable to other solutions, and for what it does, it actually provides more value for the money than some of the other major competitors."
"I don't work in the finance department, so I'm not familiar with the pricing details; however, I know some clients declined Auvik due to the pricing, so they found it expensive. Other clients have adopted it, so they think it's worth the cost."
