Provides effective real-time threat detection with potential for cost optimization
Some features such as device control, firewall management, and file analysis are standalone products that we need to purchase separately. If these features came out of the box within the product, it would be much more beneficial for us. Other providers such as SentinelOne include these features in their base product. We attended a CrowdStrike Falcon event where they discussed some shallow AI features, but we cannot see these in our panel yet. We work with different solutions such as Darktrace and SocRadar, where AI features are automatically displayed in our dashboards after release. However, for CrowdStrike Falcon, we cannot see these features.

An easy-to-implement solution that provides good reporting features and protects users’ AD infrastructure
We use Tenable Identity Exposure for our customers who have legacy AD still in use to see any exposure and protect their AD infrastructure as much as possible The solution is easy to implement, and its reporting is great. From the start, you get to see the exposure of your AD. So, it doesn't need…

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"We haven't had any infections or down time."
"The features I like the most are the response time and the dashboard are both excellent."
"CrowdStrike enables the infrastructure managers to visualize all the events and get information about the network."
"Scalability hasn't been an issue for us."
"There are two things which customers really like about CrowdStrike. If they buy managed services from CrowdStrike, it offers them detection of security issues in one minute. If you buy their professional services, they offer insurance where you can claim up to $5 million if there's a breach. This is a huge upsell for customers."
"CrowdStrike has improved our incident response capabilities."
"The key aspect of CrowdStrike Falcon is its behavioral detection approach."
"The 10 hours a week that we are freeing up from having to manage and monitor our AV solution has really allowed us to focus on other areas of the business. This has been a huge return on investment."
"The solution is easy to implement, and its reporting is great."

Cons

"CrowdStrike Falcon could be enhanced by extending its security capabilities to include NDR and XDR."
"Sometimes CrowdStrike changes the GUI, and they need to be better at informing us and providing guidance concerning that."
"As for stability, I would rate it around eight because last year they faced some downtime with around eight thousand computers, but it will improve."
"A year and a half ago or more, if you put in a support request by email, then it wasn't timely addressed. It could be a day to three days before you received a response, which was a bit frustrating. There was a lot of customer feedback around this issue, which has been greatly refined."
"I don't think anything is missing in CrowdStrike Falcon, but if they can manage their SOC solution instead of users or the end users or customers doing that, it will be very useful, just as Sophos does."
"Some policies in the tool need to be fine-tuned. Customized IOCs need to be improved since they have certain shortcomings."
"The solution could improve the policies themselves."
"They respond quickly on the weekdays, but the weekend response times are slower."
"Tenable Identity Exposure is more expensive than Defender for Identity."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The price is high in comparison to similar brands."
"Years ago, when we bought CrowdStrike, you got everything it had. I was a little concerned when they broke this out into a la carte modules where you can buy EDR, Spotlight, etc., picking and choosing off the menu. I was a little worried that the solution would get watered down. However, I realized in my previous organization when we had the full suite that there were a bunch of features in it that we didn't have time to operationalize. So, I warmed up to it. I get the whole, "Look, you can pick and choose. Okay, everybody buys a steak, but do you want mashed potatoes, or do you want lobster mac and cheese?" So, you can pick the sides that you want, so you can buy the solution that you want and operationalize versus paying a lot of money and getting a bunch of things, but not using 60 percent of the tools in the box."
"We bought a very small number of licenses, then ran it for a year. We bought a 100 licenses for a year, so we didn't actually do a proof of concept. We just bought them. Then, the next year, we bought 10,000 licenses."
"The pricing is good and there are no costs in addition to the standard licensing fees."
"Different components are additional price points. We got the components that were right for us, but other organizations may require more (or less) components to suit their needs."
"The pricing on CrowdStrike is per license. It was about $42 per seat yearly."
"This solution has a very competitive price."
"There are three to four licensing models available to choose from for CrowdStrike Falcon. The price of CrowdStrike Falcon depends on the distributor and the reseller partner. The price we received was good."
