Provides effective real-time threat detection with potential for cost optimization
Some features such as device control, firewall management, and file analysis are standalone products that we need to purchase separately. If these features came out of the box within the product, it would be much more beneficial for us. Other providers such as SentinelOne include these features in their base product. We attended a CrowdStrike Falcon event where they discussed some shallow AI features, but we cannot see these in our panel yet. We work with different solutions such as Darktrace and SocRadar, where AI features are automatically displayed in our dashboards after release. However, for CrowdStrike Falcon, we cannot see these features.

An easy-to-implement solution that provides good reporting features and protects users’ AD infrastructure
We use Tenable Identity Exposure for our customers who have legacy AD still in use to see any exposure and protect their AD infrastructure as much as possible The solution is easy to implement, and its reporting is great. From the start, you get to see the exposure of your AD. So, it doesn't need…

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Enables us to understand what processes are running on the system, what registry keys have been enabled."
"Regarding features, I appreciate its integration capabilities with identity providers...Stability-wise, I rate the solution a ten out of ten."
"The most valuable feature of CrowdStrike Falcon is its accuracy. That's very important for me. False-positive are very bad for everyone. As we are a financial institution, it's even worse. I like Falcon because it's very accurate."
"The malware protection is the most valuable feature of CrowdStrike Falcon."
"We are happy with CloudStrike's ease of use and touch notification."
"CrowdStrike displays a threat score when it detects an infection. This is helpful because not all detections are the same. It will classify them as ransomware, malware, phishing, etc. This feature helps us prioritize and cross-check with other EDR tools."
"Because it is security product and acts like an AIML smart product, not merely based on daily/weekly updates and signatures."
"It's given me a level of confidence that my network is secure."
"The solution is easy to implement, and its reporting is great."

Cons

"The product could be more accurate in terms of performance."
"CrowdStrike Falcon's GUI requires improvement for user-friendliness."
"The ability to receive text alerts natively in the console would be kind of cool."
"As for stability, I would rate it around eight because last year they faced some downtime with around eight thousand computers, but it will improve."
"CS Falcon sensing capabilities for non-domain machines should be enhanced since the agent doesn't detect the neighbor's IP Address and/or any anomaly which was identified in the network for the non-domain machine."
"To simplify the budgeting process for our clients, CrowdStrike should consider offering bundled packages that include essential features."
"Unfortunately, native applications are not supported."
"This solution could be improved with greater scope for admins to make changes to the solution."
"Tenable Identity Exposure is more expensive than Defender for Identity."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"CrowdStrike Falcon is more expensive than other EDR solutions with similar features."
"The pricing is not bad. It's on the higher end of the market, but you get what you pay for."
"While CrowdStrike Falcon offers significant security benefits, its high price point might make it prohibitively expensive for many small and medium-sized businesses, including companies like ours."
"The price of CrowdStrike Falcon is expensive."
"Years ago, when we bought CrowdStrike, you got everything it had. I was a little concerned when they broke this out into a la carte modules where you can buy EDR, Spotlight, etc., picking and choosing off the menu. I was a little worried that the solution would get watered down. However, I realized in my previous organization when we had the full suite that there were a bunch of features in it that we didn't have time to operationalize. So, I warmed up to it. I get the whole, "Look, you can pick and choose. Okay, everybody buys a steak, but do you want mashed potatoes, or do you want lobster mac and cheese?" So, you can pick the sides that you want, so you can buy the solution that you want and operationalize versus paying a lot of money and getting a bunch of things, but not using 60 percent of the tools in the box."
"Our licensing fees were between $50,000 and $60,000 per year, which was pretty expensive for a small business."
"We have a yearly subscription and find the price to be good. I'd give it a rating of four out of five for price, we got a good discount."
"I am not aware of the price, but I believe that it is among the most expensive XDRs out there. Of course, this is dependent on the features you choose. Depending on the features, the price might increase."
