The most valuable feature of IBM FlashSystem is its robust back code. When integrated properly into the environment and configured according to the guidelines, it provides a very solid infrastructure that does the job on demand. Additionally, IBM FlashSystem offers competitive pricing and reliable performance. The hardware is dependable, ensuring that it functions effectively when the setup is done correctly.

A stable unified storage system that enables quick access to data
The main thing Oracle can improve is the cost. It would be better if Oracle opened up the system to enable integration with other vendors. Whether it's the database, application server, or storage appliance, they should make it easy to integrate them. They need to open up more to ensure that it can work in any environment and IT ecosystem.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The technical support for this solution is good. They used to help us when the motherboard of Power Systems broke. Their response times are really fast."
"The storage system is one of the best in the world."
"The installation is nice and easy."
"The valuable feature is autoscalling."
"The solution is very easy to configure and use."
"IBM FlashSystem has an easy to use GUI, similar to the IBM Storewize family, which make it one of the best flash storage systems in the market."
"High availability and enhanced security; Proven dependability; Data compression with hardware acceleration; Advanced copy services features are all in this product."
"The most valuable features are flexibility and performance."
"I like its storage capacity, quick access to the data, speed, and overall storage management."

Cons

"A big area for improvement is that the data reduction pool feature is not recommended for use in a production environment because it has stability and performance issues."
"The design is a little old-fashioned and could be updated. The rack is very primitive and designed in an older style."
"The solution's pricing is a bit high so there is room for improvement."
"Product support is restricted to IBM only. It must be decentralized to IBM partners as well."
"The security features can be improved such that the encryption does not affect performance in any way."
"This product lacks some of the options we wanted. For example, expansion was difficult and it required a lot of patching to be done."
"The array level RAID does not seem available."
"I know they have a flashcopy manager, but it is extra software, an additional license, and some customers don't like to add addition costs to their infrastructure. If IBM could create, or include snapshot management within the GUI, that would really be helpful."
"The main thing Oracle can improve is the cost. It would be better if Oracle opened up the system to enable integration with other vendors. Whether it's the database, application server, or storage appliance, they should make it easy to integrate them. Pricing and Cost Advice

"I'd rate the basic licensing and the Virtualize software a ten out of ten, and the extra Spectrum and other an eight out of ten."
"The solution requires a license and could be less expensive."
"The pricing may be a bit higher than other brands. If you compare the IBM FlashSystems in midrange with Dell EMC in midrange, IBM costs a bit more, but I prefer IBM because it has more specs that I can benefit from."
"Its price is very good."
"IBM V7000 has a new license and price structure which provides intuitive licensing based on the functions customers wish to enable and use the most."
"Our customers would like IMB FlashSystem to be less expensive."
"I price of IBM FlashSystem is reasonable and competitive."
"The tool is cost-efficient."
"The price could be better. We have many competing products now like Huawei and Dell EMC, and these are slightly cheaper."
