Provides strong detection capabilities but requires improvements in parsing and stability
I cannot think of any specific features that LogRhythm SIEM can improve upon since it supports a wide variety of major vendors. However, they need to improve their parsing techniques; the tool should understand various devices and present data in a human-readable format. For example, if a personal Android mobile needs to be integrated, LogRhythm SIEM should be able to parse that data effectively. They also need to improve their database of supported devices to cover smaller vendors alongside the major players, allowing for better global reach and usability. I have noticed some problems with parsing errors, event mismatches, and data mismatching, so ensuring accurate parsing and continuous improvement according to device updates are my basic expectations as a detection engineer.

Works well for threat detection and security
Improvements needed in Logsign SIEM are providing specific security alerts that can be filtered and configured more effectively. There should be a focus on delivering alerts tailored to specific needs rather than overwhelming users with numerous alerts. Additionally, incorporating more mature data about threats is necessary for better threat detection.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"LogRhythm has shown to us, to this point in time, that it has the capabilities of being able to deliver actionable intelligence to the security engineers and analysts."
"It gives us insight into our entire installation, where we are multiple sites, going as far as the East Coast to the Central West Coast."
"LogRhythm really helps with our cybersecurity exposure because it gives us insights to make us more proactive versus reactive regarding events happening in our environment."
"LogRhythm meets our problem statement, as a solution."
"LogRhythm lights up when an event occurs; as opposed to just giving us everything, it will piece things together for you and let you know that you probably should look at this, providing the evidence and making qualifying or investigations a little bit quicker and allowing us to close down on remediation times."
"LogRhythm allows our IT/IS teams to quickly identify issues across the enterprise."
"Technical support is very helpful and responsive."
"The AI Engine can take an event and correlate it into something else giving us meaningful context regarding what is going on. We integrated it in with our ticketing system, so if an alarm fires, it raises a ticket in our system."
"Logsign provides sample logs within the product, allowing users to see how logs will appear before integration, which is a valuable feature for testing and understanding log formats."
"The most valuable features of Logsign SIEM are its cloud capabilities, alerting functionality, integration with Elastic Search, and configuration options."
"It has full automation and automated SIEM responses."

Cons

"They're hard to get a hold of. We've tried to work with a couple of engineering department guys there; we've called them and called them but we never hear anything back."
"Sometimes it's a challenge to bring it to the second level of support and get the answers that we need."
"We have to use tech support pretty regularly and it is sometimes not very good."
"We need to get better training for things like creating code and playlists. The way it's done now takes a long time."
"In terms of improvement, their community boards, where to go find things, as a customer. As they're growing and they're moving stuff around, it would be nice if we knew exactly where to find what."
"There is room for improvement with separate running sources or better integration."
"I think somewhere CloudAI would have room for improvement is maybe correlating hosts with IPs because often I'll have a user come up with an anomaly score saying it's been authenticating from different hosts, but really what it is is it'll have the user's computer, then the user's IP that they're coming from, and sometimes their hostname with our domain name afterwards."
"We are seeing performance issues with the appliance."
"Improvements needed in Logsign SIEM are providing specific security alerts that can be filtered and configured more effectively."
"AI and machine learning need to be developed. If they develop those features, I think everything will be fine."
"I hope they address the pricing model for Logsign Next-Gen SIEM, especially regarding regional variations. The pricing should not differ based on the country of operation as it can lead to dissatisfaction among customers. A fixed pricing structure would be more favorable for us. I would also suggest enhancing the GUI interface and adding features similar to xFi Exchange from IBM Pure. This would streamline operations and save time for analysts."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"I would rate the pricing 4 out of 5. There are no additional costs to the standard licensing fees."
"I would recommend talking to the rep. That's the biggest thing because they will know what questions to ask."
"It is a very cost-effective solution."
"I have seen a measurable decrease in the mean time to detect and respond to threats. We went from not detecting them to detecting them. We can actually pick up what is anomalous in our network now."
"The nice thing about LogRhythm is you can either use the agents, getting a certain number of agents with your license depending on how you want to go, and those agents do a lot of cool things, or you can use CIS Log host, then you have like an unlimited number of them."
"It costs a great amount, but its pricing is competitive with some of the other vendors. For licensing and support, we pay about 20,000. There are no additional costs or anything like that."
"The product is inexpensive than other tools."
"Look for whatever will give you the most value. That's the main point. It is not one size fits all."
"Compared to other SIEMs, it has low pricing."
