We're primarily using the solution for a data warehouse. It's just used to collect all this information from several databases, such as SQL Server, MySQL Server, DB2 Mainframe, and ZOS. We are collecting data from Excel spreadsheets. We're scanning and putting data right into MariaDB.

The best way to simplify our data governance process.

We like the easy way that we can collect data from other databases. 

The performance and the security that we got on it are great.

The way that they distribute the database is excellent.

It is a product that is very easy to use.

It's helped us a lot in our data governance procedure.

Technical support is great.

We'd like more data intelligence. We are working with a client who needs a lot of information about Oracle groups that come in the country, on the passenger name records, and so on. We need more intelligence around that in order to work better.

I've been using the solution for six months.

We didn't have any bugs yet. The solution is stable and reliable. We haven't had any issues yet.

We're still testing the solution with 30 people. Once we go into production, we'll train the whole company. therefore, we do plan to increase usage. 

We're quite happy with the technical support. We are satisfied as they are responding in time. They are giving us good answers. 

We did not previously use a different solution. We started with this product from scratch. We're still organizing our approaches to be more competitive.

We are implementing this solution with a variety of other solutions and setting everything up at once.

The solution is not so complex in that we don't want to resell any solution that we are not trying on ourselves. Therefore, we have a good understanding of how everything works, having done it ourselves.

We are still in production, and, after six months, we will begin deploying the solution.

On our side, we have three people working with MariaDB and two people at MariaDB helping as well.

We're working with our client's technical services to get everything deployed.

We don't have clarity on an ROI yet. We've just started using the solution. 

I can't speak to the exact pricing.

The cost of licensing is dependent on the projects. We have many types of licensing. We have a subscription and we also have some like lesson sheets that we buy. After, we just pay for the maintenance.

We evaluated many options. We went for simple software. We took Hadoop with Cloudera since the best version of Hadoop is Cloudera. Then, we have MariaDB on our HCI environment to secure all of this. There's a general sense of happiness with these products. It's really easy for us to use everything. Still, we are just at the beginning of the use phase.

We've started from scratch and we are using this product to build up use cases. 

We are a service company and we reselling the solution. We are working directly with MariaDB.

The product is easy to use. When you're a database administrator and you're working with databases, such as MariaDB, it's very, very, very easy. You get the performance, you get the security, and you get monitoring and disaster recovery. You're working in a secure area with the performance you need and can mass scale it which is very useful.

I'd rate the solution eight out of ten. We still are exploring all of the possibilities, however. 

It's easy to use and open source. Currently, I use it more and more as it is easier than the other.

It's easy to set up.

The product is open-source.

I don't know what we want to improve about it, however, we don't use it for everything. We use it for specific projects. It can fit my project, and we don't know how we can use it more.

The performance could be a bit better.

They could make the solution stronger. It's not stronger than PostgreSQL, for example.

I've used the solution for two years. 

The stability is good for how we use it. We don't use the replication and cluster. We only really use the standalone server and that's it.

We don't use technical support. I cannot speak to their services. 

It's not overly complex to set up. Maybe when we set up matters like replication, it's a little complicated, however, it's pretty easy.

We only need one person to maintain the product.

We did not have the help of integrators or consultants. We installed the server and deployment did not take too much time. It was about 20 minutes or 30 minutes to deploy.

The solution is open-source, therefore, it has no license.

The product is easy to use and not hard to learn, therefore, when someone asks me for a good DB to use, then I tell them about MariaDB.

I'd rate the solution eight out of ten.

We use MariaDB for a crypto exchange. We are currently in a test environment.

The solution can improve by having support for more integration. However, at this time it is working well for us.

I have been using MariaDB for six months.

The stability of MariaDB is good, it has high availability.

MariaDB is scalable.

The DBA is enough for support for MariaDB at the moment. If we need more support, then they will contact the consultants.

We are using MySQL. We moved to MariaDB because we found out that it is better for the cloud environment.

MariaDB's initial setup is not complex. It's just straightforward. It took us one day to complete.

The implementation can be done via all DBA.

There is a monthly subscription to use MariaDB.

I rate MariaDB an eight out of ten.

Our primary use cases of this solution are for emails and all the functions you would expect from a server. MariaDB is deployed on-prem, on one of our Linux servers. 

A valuable feature is that we can use it for quite a few things, all the things you'd expect from a server—along the lines of Linux's Lightweight Directory. 

MariaDB could be improved by adding more automation. 

We have been using this solution for the past five years or so. 

This solution is stable. For deployment and maintenance, we have a team of four admins. 

This solution is scalable. There are about 100 people in my company using MariaDB. 

I didn't use a different solution before implementing MariaDB. 

It is very simple to install MariaDB. We did it ourselves and it took less than a day. 

We implemented through an in-house team. 

We pay for a yearly license. We don't currently have plans to increase the number of users in the foreseeable future, but we will do so if we need to. 

I didn't evaluate other options before choosing. 

I rate MariaDB an eight out of ten. I recommend this solution to others considering implementation. 

We are network services provider and we have the solution to store and process telecommunications infrastructure, network and customer services monitoring data. Our Monitoring applications rely on MariaDB to store, process and present telemetry data from different components of the network.

Previously, we didn't have a fast network monitoring solution that could be used to monitor everything we have on the network infrastructure. The solution has improved operations because all our customers are happy that we can provide them with high grade service monitoring . They're able to monitor services uptime, utilization and other statistics. The database stores a lot of additional data related to monitoring including inventory and notifications handling data.

The software provides a lot of information on what is happening inside the database. For most performance parameters  it is easy to know if something is not right in the configuration or optimization which helps engineers take remedial finetuning measures. For example if the database is underperforming it is easy to know which performance parameter  can be adjusted to handle the workload. It is difficult to troubleshoot database issues if many performance parameters can not be monitored or debugged which is the case with some  database management systems.

It provides great monitoring data storage, processing and performance stability which is really important for real-time data storage and processing. It's a user friendly product.

I'd like to see more time series data and additional partitioning support, natively if possible. I started using  MariaDB but then migrated one of my systems to PostgreSQL because it has good support for time series data, plus there's a plug-in that PostgreSQL uses for easy support of time-series data and partitioning and it is easy to use. MariaDB could have something like that which would provide better support for times series data and partitioning. Automatic partitioning would be helpful is natively supported, because at some point I experienced issues with database performance. Partitioning is a bit complex and we do everything in-house.

I'd like to see something that does automatic optimization or tuning. This will particularly be helpful to new users.

I have been using MariaDB for 4 years 

Performance and stability are good with small instances and average skilled database administrators to maintain it, we haven't had any issues with small instances. For large instances that handle a lot of ingress data and queries, good stability can be attained with high level tuning which requires highly skilled database administrators who can correctly tune and partition databases if needed.

We haven't really scaled it and we're still using the open source version which can also  be easily scaled if needs arise.

Our company runs on a tight budget so we haven't got any support, we do everything ourselves. I know from others who have implemented and have commercial agreements with MariaDB that the support is good but I don't have first-hand experience.

I used a monitoring system that used flat files to store monitoring data and at some points used MySQL for some systems

The initial setup was very straightforward, not complex at all. There are so many resources from the community.

Yes I did evaluate other options. SQLite, Oracle DB, PostgreSQL and MySQL

I would recommend that if a company wants to do everything in-house and doesn't have technical support from MariaDB, it is important to have good database administrators, because the initial setup is straightforward, but a lot of optimization is needed, and it requires skillful database administrators. I recommend some good planning from the beginning, and it is important to figure out whether the company needs to do some database partitioning. Carrying out good research from the beginning is the wisest course when choosing MariaDB as a database. That will be so helpful in avoiding possible performance and tuning issues.

I rate this solution an eight out of 10. 

I was just creating databases and doing research, basically. I've been creating new services and updating those databases in MariaDB. So, I've been learning all the SQL stuff, exploring it on my ID. This was for personal use, not for a company.

It's user-friendly. It's easy to use.

The configuration could be improved. It should be easier.

I have been using MariaDB for just three or four months, I got started exploring it. So I can work with it, not an expert, but I've been using it for three to four months now.

For non-production purposes. I'm just using it for my personal project, so it works quite well. I haven't faced any errors yet.

I haven't reached the production phase. So, if I were doing any projects, I was the only user.

The initial setup is not complex at all. Once you get used to it, then you can figure it out. Starting becomes a bit difficult, but once you get into the flow of all the programming, make all the language and stuff, you get to know it. It's quite easy.

For my setup, I used my command line. I installed an ID for that, so I interact with MariaDB through that.  

I used the free version. I didn't purchase it. 

I would suggest do your research first, especially regarding security. You should probably search for reference materials for MariaDB, and then you should get into it. Don't just dive straight into it. You should have done some sort of research before getting into it. That would be my advice.

Overall, I would rate the solution a seven out of ten.

I develop applications in my spare time. So, if the application requires a database, I use MariaDB by default.

It works fine. It's easy to set up. 

There is room for improvement in terms of security. 

I have been using MariaDB since 2016. I started using it when I was in school. Moreover, I use the latest version available, depending on what I am doing.

It is a very stable solution. I made a deployment for an internal IT service at one of the places I worked, and it's been seven years now, and it's still working perfectly. 

I would rate the stability a solid nine out of ten. There is always room for improvement. Nothing is perfect, and maybe there are some issues that I'm not aware of.

MariaDB is mainly a back-end application, so anyone using our service also uses the database. For example, if you use my monitoring service, which is used to monitor devices and appliances, then you'll be using the database. So, I'm not sure if that counts, but it's being extensively used in our company, and it's very helpful.

We plan to increase our usage of MariaDB in the future.

I have never contacted the customer service and support team because our deployment is not very big; it's just something small. The data contained in it is not considered a big deal by my supervisor, so there hasn't been a need to contact tech support.

Moreover, we haven't faced any issues so far. It's been working smoothly for us.

The initial setup is very straightforward. Mostly, I use MariaDB with Docker, so it's quite easy to set up and deploy. The documentation is also easy to understand and follow.

I usually handle the deployment myself, without the need for any third-party help. I followed the documentation and steps provided. MariaDB can be deployed in-house, but mostly it's self-hosted, and I use it with Linux. I mostly use the package manager version or the bundle I get from the website and apply it myself. 

I haven't used the licensing model for MariaDB, but I would prefer to use it since I am familiar with the platform and find it easy to work with. I wouldn't want to switch to a different database management system.

I've used PostgreSQL before, but that was in a personal capacity just for my own personal projects. Using MariaDB depends on the application I'm trying to deploy or what I'm trying to use. That's what determines if I will use MariaDB or Postgres as SQL.

If I am teaching somebody to program and write applications, I usually use MariaDB by default because it's open source, pretty available, and overall, I would rate MariaDB a ten out of ten.

But if I want to do a major deployment, I would have to get support. It's very stable. For example, I was using it to host a monitoring system, and it's been stable for a very long time. I haven't upgraded it yet, but it's working fine. It's been seven years since I did the last deployment, and it's still fine. 

I use this product as a support tool, mainly as a repository for information. I'm a consultant and we implement this solution for our customers. 

MariaDB is a commodity so its value is its ease of use and its availability in most environments. The product is really easy to set up, it's just a matter of doing a PT install and it's done. 

I'd like to see more integration with user platforms.

I've been using this solution for six years. 

The solution is stable. 

The solution is very scalable. We only have three users in our company but I have hundreds of customers that use MariaDB. 

The initial setup took less than 15 minutes. We implemented it ourselves. The solution manages itself. 

I recommend this solution. It's great for web applications and it just works. I rate this solution nine out of 10.

We are using the solution under the Oracle license. Since MariaDB is offline, we use its applications instead of MySQL. 

The solution offers all the principal features that are offered by MySQL, including the process which is used, features, function and system. 

The solution can provide SQL interface for data. 

The license should be cheaper and closer to that offered by MySQL, Oracle and other products. 

The solution needs more metrics on daily count. SQL Stripment should be addressed.

Installation is straightforward. 

It took maximum of a half to one hour to complete. It is not a big deal.

The installation can be handled on one's own. 

There are two or three technical people responsible for the deployment. 

MySQL is under a license for Oracle, which means that it is free and cheaper than other systems and databases. 

When it comes to MariaDB, it should have a more cost-effective license. 

We use the solution with our Internal application. It is not cloud based. Work bench is the interface for MYSQL. An additional interface is also available there from MariaDB. 

Integration does not present an issue. It works plain and simple, as if it's MySQL. When it comes to installation, we can control backup systems and there is much data found there, no problem at all. Given the software, the integration works fine and I use the solution in Windows and Linux Ubuntu. The Linux platform has nearly an identical work queue.  

I have found the solution to be easy to use from the get go, around five months back. It is simple and secure. No problems there. 

There are 100 people making use of the solution in our organization. 

I would recommend the solution to others.
