Platform has simplified personal project hosting and supports forms for my night shift calculator
Pros and Cons
  • "Netlify Platform has positively impacted my projects and workflow because I am using it for multiple projects, and the folks who are using my project really love it and get curious every time about how I am using and deploying the projects, which gives a good feeling that really helps."
  • "Netlify Platform can be improved because the free version has many limitations; for example, I really want to have the analytics part, but they are not providing it and are pushing me to buy the subscription, which is a painful moment."

What is our primary use case?

My main use case for Netlify Platform is to work on the projects that I am working on, mostly personal projects and not company ones.

A quick specific example of a project I have used Netlify Platform for is that I have built a night shift calculator which helps folks who work the night shift calculate their allowance, and I am hosting my code in GitHub while Netlify Platform is used for deployment and hosting.

I use the form handling part of Netlify Platform for my project.

What is most valuable?

In my opinion, the best feature that Netlify Platform offers is the integration part, which is really smooth and easy to use, even for a new person who is not tech-savvy; it is a simple plug-and-play.

What makes the integration so easy for me is that I did try Vercel, and I did not care for it, although they say it is fast compared to Netlify Platform, I found Vercel difficult compared to Netlify Platform, so that really stood out for me.

Netlify Platform has positively impacted my projects and workflow because I am using it for multiple projects, and the folks who are using my project really love it and get curious every time about how I am using and deploying the projects, which gives a good feeling that really helps.

Netlify Platform has really helped me a lot with my projects, and before I found it through a Google search and my research, it was really a savior for me.

What needs improvement?

Netlify Platform can be improved because the free version has many limitations; for example, I really want to have the analytics part, but they are not providing it and are pushing me to buy the subscription, which is a painful moment.

Of course, I think Netlify Platform is really good, and if the free version had everything that they offer in the premium one, that would really be helpful because once a person experiences all the features, it is good for them to make a decision; being limited in part features makes it really tough for me to make a decision.

Everything is covered, but if they provide some more features in the free version, that will really be helpful, such as the analytics part, so the user does not have to go to another platform and bridges the gap.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Netlify Platform for the past two years.

Simple deployments have improved front-end testing and saved costs for my web projects
Pros and Cons
  • "I really recommend Netlify Platform, and I am advising my friends to use it for their web development, especially for the front-end side."
  • "As I have been deploying my current project, I noticed I have reached 75% of my free allocation, and I am unsure if that can be improved."

What is our primary use case?

My main use case for Netlify Platform is to host the front-end side for web development, and I also do some testing while developing a website.

What is most valuable?

I love the best features of Netlify Platform because it gives me an easy time, especially when it comes to deployment. For example, if my project has some errors and it cannot deploy, it outlines them, which I appreciate. I love that Netlify Platform incorporates AI, assisting in identifying where exactly the problem is. I love the easy use of it; it is user-friendly.

I appreciate Netlify Platform's availability because it is user-friendly, especially for beginners and web testing, and it is free initially. In case I want to deploy more projects later, that is when charges apply, but I appreciate it because it is accessible to anyone willing to use it.

What needs improvement?

I am not certain what areas may have room for improvement, but I have yet to confirm if Netlify Platform has an app. If there is no app, then I would recommend developing one, possibly a mobile app. As I have been deploying my current project, I noticed I have reached 75% of my free allocation, and I am unsure if that can be improved. I suggest adding more slots for users, allowing at least five free projects before fees apply, or a small amount for additional projects.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Netlify Platform for over a year now.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Netlify Platform's stability is good; I have not seen anything unusual, so I appreciate that. I would give it an eight.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I would also rate how scalable Netlify Platform is an eight.

How are customer service and support?

I would rate the technical support a nine.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

What was our ROI?

In terms of return on investment, Netlify Platform saves me 20%, which is good for me.

What other advice do I have?

I really recommend Netlify Platform, and I am advising my friends to use it for their web development, especially for the front-end side.

I find Netlify Platform's pricing to be cost-efficient.

Quick deployments have simplified my learning projects yet integration setup still needs improvement
Pros and Cons
  • "Netlify Platform has positively impacted my work and projects because it saved my sanity."
  • "The one needed improvement I think for Netlify Platform is the way that it ties into GitHub's apps. I have done it a couple of different times and each time I have to re-learn how to do it, which was a little frustrating at best."

What is our primary use case?

My main use case for Netlify Platform is mostly for web apps, as that was what I was trying to learn how to do and trying to gain a better understanding of. Netlify offered some pretty good opportunities to serve those apps up. I have used it for personal websites as well because it offers nice uses for those static sites.

A specific example of one of the web apps I deployed using Netlify Platform is my home inventory app, which is something one could use for insurance purposes, but my intent at the time was for moving purposes to categorize and inventory my household. Netlify offered the opportunity for me to do that much quicker than other services that I have used for various reasons, mostly through my time as a student.

Something unique about my use cases with Netlify Platform is that it was much easier to use than other services that I tried, and out of all of those, I thought Netlify was the simplest.

What is most valuable?

The best features that Netlify Platform offers in my experience include the free tier, which enabled me to see how things were going to serve up. I used it on my phone and that worked really well to serve it cleanly and quickly that way. I appreciated that I could connect my Git service to it and use that as a way to see how it served up in reality versus just what it does on my local machine.

Regarding the features of Netlify Platform, I think those are pretty standard features for most everyone at this point, but I thought Netlify did a good job with them.

Netlify Platform has positively impacted my work and projects because it saved my sanity. I have tried several different other services, and the ease that Netlify offered helped me get things put together in the limited time that I have. That was a handy tool to be able to leverage and get done what I wanted.

A good example of how much time I saved using Netlify Platform with my web page is that I had spent several hours, actually about three days, trying to get it to work on a couple of different services without success, and then I decided to go with Netlify Platform, which took about two hours instead of the roughly 10 hours I had spent prior, saving a lot of time.

What needs improvement?

The one needed improvement I think for Netlify Platform is the way that it ties into GitHub's apps. I have done it a couple of different times and each time I have to re-learn how to do it, which was a little frustrating at best. That could be a little streamlined, but that is probably more a GitHub side opposed to a Netlify Platform side.

For how long have I used the solution?

I began using Netlify Platform about midway through 2025 and I have used it a couple of different times since then.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Netlify Platform has been stable in my experience, with no downtime or reliability issues.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

My projects with Netlify Platform are very small, so I have not had any need to scale anything, but from what I understand, it scales very well.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I previously used a couple of different solutions before Netlify Platform, including Render, which I found did not serve things well for a front end, and AWS, where the complexity bar is high despite the benefits.

What was our ROI?

I have not personally seen any return on investment from Netlify Platform yet other than just the learning that I was able to gain from the experience of using it.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

My experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing for Netlify Platform was that everything was clear and well-defined, and it was a reasonable cost for the services being offered. I do not know what more you could ask.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

Before choosing Netlify Platform, I evaluated other options, including Heroku, AWS, Render, and a handful of other ones.

What other advice do I have?

For the purposes I have used Netlify Platform, it serves those needs very well.

The advice I would give to others looking into using Netlify Platform is to read the tutorials, as there is plenty of information out there. It is pretty straightforward and pretty useful. My personal high point of it is that there is plenty of information on how to use it, and it is quick and easy to use. I would rate this review a 7 out of 10.

Hosting multiple MVP websites has been simple and supports fast experimentation
Pros and Cons
  • "Netlify Platform has positively impacted my organization because it keeps us able to try MVPs before pushing them to production."
  • "Regarding the features, it would be helpful to add graphic ways to show what is happening in the deployment process because all I get is a simple interface."

What is our primary use case?

My main use case for Netlify Platform is hosting my application, website, landing page, and web platform.

A quick specific example of a project I have hosted with Netlify Platform includes creating websites or landing pages for freelance projects, and I have sometimes created applications for my own project and also for my business.

What is most valuable?

Netlify Platform has positively impacted my organization because it keeps us able to try MVPs before pushing them to production. This is what I love about it, as it serves as a dev environment for us.

In my opinion, the best features Netlify Platform offers is the hosting. It is so simple to integrate your project from GitHub and host it to the web.

The GitHub integration makes my workflow easier because I just publish my project in GitHub and then link it directly to Netlify Platform.

What needs improvement?

Regarding the features, it would be helpful to add graphic ways to show what is happening in the deployment process because all I get is a simple interface. For non-technical people, this is difficult, so I hope they come up with a UI or new UI that displays the deployment process more simply.

I feel Netlify Platform can be improved by keeping it free because I think that in the future we may see the platform need to charge $5, and I hope that does not happen. I hope they keep all of this free.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Netlify Platform for three or four years now.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

In my experience, Netlify Platform is very stable. The links do not expire, and everything works fine. I do not have glitches or bugs. One time I published a landing page and had a problem with mobile devices. It worked very slowly, but I think the problem was from our dev environment or from our developer, who may have created the page to be more flexible for access from PC than from mobile.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Netlify Platform's scalability is adequate for me, as I only publish very simple projects such as web platforms or landing pages. I am not using it for large or scalable applications that would give me great feedback on the platform's performance.

How are customer service and support?

I have not contacted customer support for Netlify Platform because I do not have any problems with it.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Negative

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I have not used a different solution before Netlify Platform. This is the first one, and I am not looking to switch to another because it is so simple and flexible for me.

What about the implementation team?

The way we deploy Netlify Platform in my organization is by using it as a PaaS platform as a service, and we love how everything is published in the cloud. We do not need to install anything in our environment.

What was our ROI?

I have seen a return on investment since using Netlify Platform, as I just use it for free. This is a big win for me since I do not need to pay for anything.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Currently, I cannot answer clearly about pricing, setup cost, and licensing because I am using the free version.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

Before choosing Netlify Platform, I did not evaluate other options. It is working fine for me, so I am not looking to switch to another platform.

What other advice do I have?

My advice for others looking into using Netlify Platform is that it is very simple, flexible, and very fast. I find this interview very flexible and simple. I would suggest they consider sharing some live webcam or something similar. I would rate this experience an 8.

Seamless Git-based deployments have boosted my front-end delivery and project velocity
Pros and Cons
  • "The best thing Netlify Platform has done for me is that it gives me velocity, taking away all the burden and time-consuming processes so I can move fast."
  • "I think Netlify Platform can be improved if it has the functionality to have a full back-end as well."

What is our primary use case?

My biggest use case for Netlify Platform is to deploy my front-end website and create a CI/CD pipeline with GitHub itself.

For example, I built my college project, a lost and found website. I created the UI in React, made the repository in GitHub, created a CI/CD pipeline to Netlify Platform, and hosted my project there. I have hosted several other projects as well.

I also hosted a UI for a platform as a service I was building for my personal project, which is a video platform where you can have video calls. For that as well, I used Netlify Platform.

What is most valuable?

I think the best feature of Netlify Platform is how easily I am able to integrate it with GitHub and GitLab, along with how user-friendly it is. You don't really need to specify everything because it has most things built in, requiring you to write nothing more than the start command. It is able to read from the project itself what is needed.

What makes the integration with GitHub and GitLab stand out is that you can simply log in to Netlify account, pair it with your GitHub account, find the project in Netlify itself, select the project, put the root folder if it is not already the root, and then it is done. It will take care of everything and is very easy to use.

I also appreciate Netlify functions. Although I have not used them very much, the serverless capability is really nice.

The best thing Netlify Platform has done for me is that it gives me velocity, taking away all the burden and time-consuming processes so I can move fast. It would be hard to quantify, but any deployment would previously take a few hours, while Netlify Platform takes a few minutes.

What needs improvement?

I think Netlify Platform can be improved if it has the functionality to have a full back-end as well. I love Netlify Platform. I just want one thing: the ability to do everything in the same application. Currently, I have to use Render or something else for the deployment of my back-end, but if it can deploy the back-end as well, I would really appreciate it.

For how long have I used the solution?

In my current field as a full-time professional, I have been working for one and a half years, but I have been working on Netlify Platform and other projects for the last four to five years from my college itself. I have been using Netlify Platform for the last four years.

What other advice do I have?

I deploy Netlify Platform using public cloud. I use AWS as my cloud provider with Netlify Platform. I did not purchase Netlify Platform through the AWS Marketplace. I would rate this product a nine out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Seamless integrations have empowered students and personal projects to deploy from code to web
Pros and Cons
  • "Netlify Platform has positively impacted my organization by significantly improving deployment time and providing general users with easy access to deployment."

What is our primary use case?

My main use case for Netlify Platform is my personal projects, and previously I also taught at a software development boot camp as a JavaScript web development instructor, where most of my students used Netlify to deploy their projects. I encouraged them to use Netlify because it was one of the most beginner-friendly platforms available.

One specific example of a project I deployed using Netlify is a language learning web app designed to help English native speakers learn the Japanese language. The app is built on top of Next.js, and we use IndexedDB for the database. I was under the impression that Vercel, one of Netlify Platform's competitors, is the only provider that has 100% compatibility with Next.js deployment, but it turns out Netlify Platform also provides 100% compatibility for deploying Next.js projects.

    What is most valuable?

In my opinion, the best features that Netlify Platform offers include ease of use compared to other web hosting services, along with direct integration with GitHub and GitLab. You can connect your account with it, and then it just works by itself without the need to set up anything complicated, which makes it very beginner-friendly. This is why I always encourage my students to use it, since they only have to connect their projects, select the repository they want to deploy from, and Netlify Platform takes care of the rest.

Additional valuable features include full support for audit logs, detailed information on what happened when deployments fail, and the ability to deploy different versions and branches, allowing users to have live access to ongoing development.

These features have significantly helped my students. When I was teaching, the program did not cover how to deploy what was built. We told students that development does not stop until it reaches the internet and users, but we did not provide the necessary details, which would unnecessarily extend the program duration. So we skipped those parts and encouraged students to deploy their own projects without requiring a detailed explanation of server setups, SSH usage, or how to make code available online. Instead, I encouraged them to use Netlify Platform to connect their GitHub account, since it simplifies the deployment process to just three steps.

Netlify Platform has positively impacted my organization by significantly improving deployment time and providing general users with easy access to deployment. Before Netlify Platform, deploying required commitments to rent servers or domains, but now you just create a free account, which offers a basic implementation without any cost, leveling the playing field for aspiring software engineers.

    What needs improvement?

I do not see hard competitors besides Vercel, which backs Next.js. While they are similar in free access features, I believe Netlify Platform has a higher regard in the developer community.

One feature I wish existed in Netlify Platform is enhanced integration with AI. I have seen an integration with Claude, and I believe Netlify Platform should expand this to incorporate other AI tools such as ChatGPT or Gemini. These integrations could automate tasks such as creating pull requests for fixing deprecated libraries or generating automated test cases for untested portions of projects during the CI/CD phase, which would be a nice quality of life addition for beginners.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Netlify Platform since 2022, and I actively used it for about two years, then paused, and then revisited using it again just around this year.

What other advice do I have?

My advice to others looking into using Netlify Platform is to get comfortable with the overall integration process, as that is the biggest benefit of using such a platform, especially for users with cloud-ready or cloud-native projects who will find the most benefits from it. I give Netlify Platform a rating of 9 out of 10.

Seamless web deployments have transformed how I launch and manage multiple projects quickly
    Pros and Cons
    • "The best part is having 500 web apps for free with support for almost all major frameworks."

What is our primary use case?

My main use case for Netlify Platform is the deployment of all sorts of projects such as React projects, HTML projects, and other framework projects. Basically, all web-based projects and web apps are deployed on Netlify Platform.

A quick example of a project I deployed on Netlify Platform is my own portfolio website, which stands out for me. It is a very seamless, one-click process once you connect your GitHub. Then it is simple; you just connect to the right commands, add any sort of environment if needed, and it is a one-click deploy. In a minute or two, I get my live website.

I do not face any challenges with my main use case on Netlify Platform because it is a pretty simple process. Once you do it one or two times, it is done pretty easily. A good extra feature with the premium plan is that they also provide analytics and custom domain connections freely available. I did face a little bit of a challenge with a custom domain once, but I found that Netlify Platform allows us to connect custom domains easily by just adding the domain and the specific IPs, and it is done.

      What is most valuable?

The best features Netlify Platform offers, in my experience, are one-click deployment, environment management, and automated deployment. You do not need to care about CI/CD workflows at all, and I think that is all for best features.

I find myself relying mostly on the one-click deployment and automated deployment features because once I deploy something, it is pretty effective. Basically, all of these features go hand in hand; after deploying, I manage the environment, and Netlify Platform automates everything. You can tweak the environment anytime and do infinite redeploys. The automated feature ensures that whenever I push new code, it automatically redeploys my site for me. The best part is having 500 web apps for free with support for almost all major frameworks.

Netlify Platform positively impacts my organization by saving time for sure.

      What needs improvement?

Netlify Platform is already pretty good enough, and I think there are no significant improvements needed.

I personally have not encountered any frustration from Netlify Platform, so I am okay with it as it is. If I had to point out something minor, it would be nice if they provided some analytics for free as well.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Netlify Platform for approximately two to three years, specifically for about two and a half years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

      Netlify Platform is very stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The scalability of Netlify Platform is pretty good; it auto-scales efficiently.

How are customer service and support?

My experience with customer support for Netlify Platform has been pretty great.

How would you rate customer service and support?

      Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I have been using Netlify Platform from the start; I used Vercel for a very few days, but while it offers more features, it is also quite expensive. Therefore, Netlify Platform wins.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

My experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing for Netlify Platform is great; the pricing is very reasonable and the free tier is super. Everything is good.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I did not evaluate other options before choosing Netlify Platform; I only knew about Netlify Platform and Vercel, and I ended up using both for some specific use cases, mainly sticking with Netlify Platform.

What other advice do I have?

My advice to others looking into using Netlify Platform is to just use it. If you want to deploy your things, then use it. If you get stuck somewhere, ask ChatGPT or YouTube; just put in five minutes and you will get the hang of it. I would rate this product a 9 out of 10.

Automated frontend deployments have streamlined team workflows and reduced collaboration errors
      Pros and Cons
      • "I really love Netlify Platform, and I improved my Netlify Platform skills when I built the website front end."
      • "However, they just get more errors because my local setup differs from their local setup, so we have more errors and need to level up to go live."

What is our primary use case?

My main use case for Netlify Platform is deploying front end applications. I use it for deployments with React and JavaScript, and I work with my GitHub for deployment through Netlify. When I deploy my directory and encounter an error, I use the directory to troubleshoot. I don't have anything else to add about my main use case with Netlify Platform; I'm comfortable with it, and it works well for me.

How has it helped my organization?

Netlify Platform has positively impacted my organization because when our team finishes work in one GitHub repository, and if others want to work on their own GitHub, they can deploy to their own Netlify instance. However, they just get more errors because my local setup differs from their local setup, so we have more errors and need to level up to go live. I really respect Netlify Platform for solving this problem.

I have seen specific outcomes that show how Netlify Platform has helped my organization by organizing our workflow with better time management, reducing errors, and improving collaboration. This has been really comfortable for me during my learning about Netlify Platform, and when I was practicing with it, it was easy for me.

      What is most valuable?

The best feature that Netlify Platform offers in my opinion is the ability to make deployment automatic instead of working manually. I can install it with NPM install Netlify to make it easy, rather than doing it manually by hand.

These features help me in my daily work because when I make a front end platform and need deployment, either I or other developers might forget to deploy in Netlify Platform. If we have an inner team with more code, and someone needs to set up the environment, they will forget, so we can be at ease when we use this automated feature.

      What needs improvement?

I don't know about needed improvements because we don't need more. However, I think a sidebar with more options could help someone see how they can deploy or how they did deploy with this environment or domain, which could be difficult for other people who haven't used it before. For me, I'm satisfied because I learned how to use it.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Netlify Platform for about one year and five months.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Netlify Platform is stable; I like it.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Netlify Platform grows and changes well; I love it, and now it's easy for me.

How are customer service and support?

I didn't contact customer support for Netlify Platform. I search for information and watch tutorials on YouTube to learn how to use it, so I have no problem.

How would you rate customer service and support?

      Negative

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I didn't previously use any different solution before Netlify Platform. However, I was using Vercel at first because I didn't know any information about Netlify Platform. After some time, I had more difficulty with Vercel because it wanted me to create a JSON file and install more packages, which took my time. I switched to Netlify Platform, and it's really comfortable for me.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I don't have any experience with pricing, setup cost, or licensing for Netlify Platform. I just use the free version because I'm a freelancer. For clients who subscribe to pricing plans, I use their paid versions, but not for myself.

If I work in a company or have a deployment project, I could subscribe to a paid plan. However, as for now, I'm just learning with Netlify Platform, and maybe in the future, I will purchase and subscribe to a paid plan. It's not about saving time; it's more about saving my own effort. I see people who have jobs or companies that already purchase or subscribe to these plans, and that's acceptable to me.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

Netlify Platform is the one I always forward to, so I didn't have other options before choosing it.

What other advice do I have?

I really love Netlify Platform, and I improved my Netlify Platform skills when I built the website front end. I will be really proficient with it, so I really love Netlify Platform.

Netlify Platform is stable, and I appreciate it.

Netlify Platform grows and changes well, and I love it. Now it's easy for me.

I didn't contact customer support for Netlify Platform. I search for information and watch tutorials on YouTube to learn how to use it, so I have no problem.

I advise others looking into using Netlify Platform to be calm and relaxed, not to be frustrated with it, and to take time to explore it. It's really easy and requires just two steps: push to GitHub and then use the URL from GitHub to Netlify. After that, you have deployed successfully. My overall rating for this review is nine out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?
