I work in a consulting firm, and our primary task is to assist customers in deploying various products based on their needs. We handle the implementation and administration of these products initially. However, after a while, we transition as a part of the customer's team, enabling them to manage the systems themselves.

With Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control, you can specifically gather primary system information, such as processor usage and hardware metrics. This is particularly useful for optimizing performance. It helps in identifying the best performance configurations, understanding which utilities have an impact, and pinpointing tools that may pose challenges for servers or other systems. This is crucial for comprehending data performance and protecting the efficiency of both databases and systems.

It would be beneficial if they could offer the functionality of planned DV patches linked with support. A one-click user agreement could apply these patches to the most appropriate addresses. While not a major update, rather a small package like from 19.13 to 19.14, it would be great in keeping the customer database up to date.

The solution is stable. I’ve not faced any issue.

This is a challenging question. About the support team, some individuals respond promptly and effectively. However, there are also cases where solving the problem independently rather than waiting for a reply is more efficient. So, I've had both positive and negative experiences with support.

If you are familiar with Oracle products and can understand the documentation provided by Oracle, there shouldn't be any difficulties with initial setup.

It falls in the middle when it comes to cost—it's neither expensive nor cheap, particularly in the context of mitigation.

I recommend checking the performance of systems like understanding what's happening in databases, servers, and other environments, and assessing the number of environments and server needs. You should explore the entire service. If you have all the right tools and knowledge, it's good for you.

Overall, I rate the solution a six on ten. It's great in terms of Oracle products, especially for Oracle databases, performance tunings, and performance advisory. However, its compatibility with the rest of the products in the market is less.

Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control controls many things besides the database, like the WebLogic environment and hardware. You can use the solution to patch the database, make a data cloud, which is a DR solution for the Oracle database, and patch the operating system itself. It's an amazing tool for handling an Oracle environment, including Oracle products, hardware, and operating systems.

Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control has an amazing GUI interface that does a lot of tasks with fewer steps rather than making it manual on the database or the operating system side. For example, we can create a DR solution called the Data Guard using Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control in a few minutes. However, it may take days to create it manually on the database.

While entering the database, there is some delay in viewing the data on the page called SQL monitoring, which reviews live statistics about the current and live queries on the database. Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control could automatically create an SR with Oracle and follow up with SR, but it needs more enhancement in its ability.

I have been using Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control for ten years.

Sometimes, there may be some time delay in its internal clock or time stamp on some pages and components. When we restart the agent in the target site or some connection, there may be some delay or latency.

I rate Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control a seven out of ten for stability.

Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control is too easy to deploy, especially for the default or the standard configuration. If you want the solution to monitor and handle any new database, you should add it as on target, which is an easy process.

The solution is primarily used for monitoring the Oracle Database and extra data.

The peer format tuning is very useful for our clients. If they want to check the monitoring for peer formats and SQL cyber tuning, et cetera, they can. In traction sites also, if they want to check it out. If they have a hardware problem, they get some notification for any hardware error. You can configure between notification for mail and confirmation for mail to send to the customer. If there is a problem, for example, some memory problem, they sent an email. And they can check the monitoring on the cluster side. If they see if there is a problem and they have any action, they give can provide an action plan. The monitoring tool is great.

The solution is reliable. 

There are enough features, however, they could add an SQL flag. They have no MongoDB or other databases. It would be ideal if they offered plugins for those. 

The initial setup is a bit complex. 

In general, the product is complex. They need to simplify it and make it lighter. 

The performance can be a bit slow. 

I've been using this solution for a long time. it's been about 15 years now. 

The solution offers a good amount of stability and reliability. It's good enough.

The initial setup is quite complex. It is not exactly simple. In terms of difficulty, I would rate it a four out of five. 

The reason it is not easy to install is that you must install the database and the process of that. They also have no HA. The HA architecture is very hard to install for an Enterprise Platform product.

I would rate the solution an eight out of ten, even though it is a bit complex and really would be better if it was lighter and simpler. 

From my experience, people use Enterprise Manager to control how they use Oracle software, including the installation base of software such as Oracle Enterprise Edition and options. But just having the system is not enough. It also helps with their licensing needs. System administrators use it for deeper purposes.

We are a service provider, so it depends on what the customer wants. The core Oracle Enterprise Manager can be used for cloud control, but it depends on the customer's needs.

Currently, it seems that Oracle is focused on cloud features, and perhaps even incorporating artificial intelligence into the administration of different functions of the software. This could potentially be implemented into Oracle Enterprise Manager.

I have been using Oracle for over fifteen years, so my experience using Oracle software is rather deep.

The initial setup depends on your experience. For example, for people who are doing it for the first time, it's probably difficult. For those who have done it multiple times, it's not a problem at all.

As far as I know, it is free with the Oracle database.

If you're using Oracle products, you should definitely use Oracle Enterprise Manager because it is central to product management.

Overall, I would rate the solution a nine out of ten because nobody is perfect, so I don't believe that it's possible to create a perfect product. However, Enterprise Manager is a good product for the functions it provides within the system. It is a central tool for managing Oracle, which is beneficial. Moreover, it does require some additional functions.

We are a solution provider and this is one of the products that we implement for our clients. Our primary use case was to change the infrastructure for one of our clients. They were moving SAP from an on-premise deployment to this one.

SAP is a high-performance application, and we are able to use Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control to monitor and prevent bottlenecks.

The dashboard and reporting help us to do preventative AI and analytics to detect performance bottlenecks.

The only negative thing about this product is that it doesn't support all environments or all applications. It does support most but there are limitations around applications and monitoring.

I would like to see an expansion of the functionality into other products. This includes smaller products, like monitoring applications for MySQL or even smaller Oracle databases. It does support Oracle very well but in the smaller databases, they should increase functionality. Improving the detail of the databases that it can monitor would also be helpful.

We first implemented Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control approximately a year ago.

This is a very stable solution

This product is very much scalable.

The technical support from Oracle is very good.

The initial setup is easy because you just have to deploy an agent. However, I did not install it myself.

The hardware is installed on-premises but it is a cloud device. This is what's called a Cloud@Customer. It's a private cloud infrastructure but can also join up with the public cloud.

It took us approximately one month to deploy.

We deployed this product with our in-house team, although it was a collaboration with Oracle. We dealt with Oracle telephonically because our team was in South Africa.

Only one person from our team was required for deployment. Also for maintenance, only one person is needed.

Our customer uses Oracle Universal Credits to pay for their license on an annual basis. The price is definitely affordable.

Overall, this is a good product but of course, there is room for improvement.

The tool provides a centralized interface where we can efficiently handle incidents, track agent status, and diagnose performance-related issues. This streamlined view offers a convenient way to access information, eliminating the need to navigate through separate database tools. It provides a clear and comprehensive perspective, allowing us to manage incidents and monitor performance seamlessly, both on the database side and in the AWS environment.

It's crucial to promptly resolve agent-related issues to ensure continuous and accurate monitoring of database features within the Oracle Enterprise Manager.
