What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I rate the solution’s stability an eight or nine out of ten.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

    The solution’s scalability is good.

260 users are using this solution.

I rate the solution’s scalability a nine out of ten.

How are customer service and support?

    Technical support is helpful.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We worked with Symantec. Another company has taken over Symantec. It was expensive too. So, we opted for Trend Micro.

    How was the initial setup?

The initial setup depends on the users. We have these solutions installed on the systems. We are providing some links to the users. They can install them alone, but it takes time because our systems work in remote scenarios where web connectivity might be an issue.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

    The product is expensive.

I rate the product’s pricing a six out of ten, where one is expensive, and ten is cheap.

What other advice do I have?

Trend Micro Web Security provides excellent protection. Therefore, many other systems are implementing the same server with Trend Micro. All security aspects are the same, but we are considering the economic aspects when choosing Trend Micro over other options.

Overall, the protection is good, giving us peace of mind. It's intuitive, with no issues with spam. This improves our quality of time.

Zero-day vulnerability is effective because the time consumption for resolving these issues has decreased. We no longer have to worry about it.

Trend Micro Web Security is an all-in-one solution tailored for non-profit organizations. We do not integrate it with any of our existing servers or systems. It functions as an independent mechanism for individual users. Users can protect their laptops even without an internet connection. There are no issues.

Overall, I rate the solution an eight or nine out of ten.

We have about 100 people using the product.

We do have plans to increase usage. In fact, we are attempting to do so now.

How are customer service and support?

They provide very good technical support. We are quite satisfied with them.

Reliable, expandable, and offers good EDR features
    Pros and Cons
    • "The solution is stable."
    • "The EDR feature is very good; it's one of the better features of security and can protect a large percentage of the company."
    • "The costs are a bit high in terms of licensing."
    • "The licensing is paid annually. It is a little bit expensive when you compare it to the competition."

What is our primary use case?

I use the solution for the financial and delivery sectors. We primarily use the solution for security.

    What is most valuable?

The EDR feature is very good. It's one of the better features of security. It can protect a large percentage of the company.

    The solution is stable.

    It can scale well.

    What needs improvement?

The costs are a bit high in terms of licensing.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've been using the solution for the past three years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The product is stable and reliable. There are no bugs or glitches. It doesn't crash or freeze.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

We found the solution to be quite scalable. It has a good range.

I deploy the solution for my customers, and the companies are all different sizes. One company has 100 people using it. Another has 50, for example.

How are customer service and support?

I've never used technical support. I cannot speak to how helpful or responsive they would be.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We are using the full portfolio of Trend Micro.

    How was the initial setup?

The initial setup has a moderate level of difficulty. It's not simple. However, I would not describe it as complex.

Its deployment took us less than two or three hours. It didn't take long.

We only need two people to handle deployment and maintenance tasks. We have someone from technical support and our head of IT, for example, that can manage deployment and maintenance tasks.

    What about the implementation team?

I used a consultant. They assisted with the setup process.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

    The licensing is paid annually.

It is a little bit expensive when you compare it to the competition. Other products often make aggressive offers when we are shopping around, and it can be quite a bit less.

What other advice do I have?

We are integrators. We work with clients and deploy the solution for them.

I'd rate the solution ten out of ten. It is a very good product.

Stable end-to-end security solution for websites
    Pros and Cons
    • "It's a very stable solution."
    • "Trend Micro has a good portfolio for security solutions."
    • "Setup isn't very straightforward. You must have a certified technical engineer."
    • "Trend Micro products are quite expensive compared to Kaspersky, Sophos, and McAfee."

What is our primary use case?

This solution is mostly used for web security. This solution is used on-premises and on the cloud.

We have about 15 to 20 clients using this solution.

    What needs improvement?

    It could be less expensive.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using this solution for about three years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

    It's a very stable solution.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

    It's scalable.

How are customer service and support?

Normally, we don't usually get to the point where we require support from Trend Micro because we have our own technical team, and the distributors have their own technical team. After that, if we cannot solve anything, then we go through Trend Micro, but it normally doesn't happen that much.

    How was the initial setup?

Setup isn't very straightforward. You must have a certified technical engineer. It depends on the number of users or how big your network is, but it takes about one to four to five days.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The license is yearly and user based.

Trend Micro products are quite expensive compared to Kaspersky, Sophos, and McAfee. If they came down on the price, maybe it would be easier for them to compete in the market.

What other advice do I have?

I would rate this solution 8 out of 10.

I would definitely recommend Trend Micro to people looking for an end-to-end security solution. Trend Micro has a good portfolio for security solutions.

Provides stable and scalable threat protection with good technical support, but it needs to be more comprehensive
    Pros and Cons
    • "Threat protection solution with good stability and scalability. Installation is straightforward. Support for this product is good."
    • "Trend Micro Web Security is used to protect the organizations from shoulder surfing and it also does certain classifications to provide protection not only from a security point of view, but also from a GRC (governance, risk, and compliance) point of view."
    • "What could help Trend Micro Web Security in terms of improvement is the addition of a DDoS protection feature. It also needs to be more comprehensive to meet the needs of large-sized companies."

What is our primary use case?

Trend Micro Web Security is used to protect the organizations from shoulder surfing. It also does certain classifications to provide protection not only from a security point of view, but also from a GRC (governance, risk, and compliance) point of view.

    What needs improvement?

What could help Trend Micro Web Security in terms of improvement is the addition of a DDoS protection feature. Better DDoS protection is what I'm expecting, though I'm unsure if they now have that, because DDoS protection is more specialized than just web security.

For how long have I used the solution?

We've been providing Trend Micro Web Security for seven years now.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Trend Micro Web Security is a good, stable product.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Trend Micro Web Security is a scalable product.

How are customer service and support?

The tech support for Trend Micro Web Security is good.

    How was the initial setup?

Installing this product is really straightforward. The longest part is getting the MX records changed.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

For Trend Micro Web Security licensing, there's annual and monthly options, e.g. it depends on the company and the customer. When they are on the managed services option, it's monthly. They're also setting up an option via AWS where there will be a monthly option via the AWS shopfront.

What other advice do I have?

We were able to deploy Trend Micro Web Security both on cloud and on-premises.

We currently have six customers on Trend Micro Web Security. Some of the customers, I've moved to a product that is more comprehensive.

You need a proper engineer to do the onboarding for this product, but it's not a very resource-intensive solution once it's installed. It does its protection. It gives you reports. You can configure it for the changes you want to make.

I recommend Trend Micro Web Security, particularly for small to medium enterprises. Bigger companies have more stringent requirements, and they might want to use solutions that are more comprehensive, but for small to medium-sized companies, this solution is good enough.

My rating for Trend Micro Web Security is six out of ten.

It's useful from an administrative point of view, with controllable login monitoring
    Pros and Cons
    • "It's secure and useful from an administrative point of view, with controllable login monitoring and so on."
    • "There are multiple ways Web Security could improve, such as usability and web access to several programming modes."

    What is most valuable?

Web Security's most valuable feature is access security.

    What needs improvement?

There are multiple ways Web Security could improve, such as usability and web access to several programming modes.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've been using Web Security for around three years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The stability varies depending on if it's the Software as a Service or on-premise version, but it's highly stable in general.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The scalability is open because it depends on the number of licenses you purchase. I've used it mostly in global environments, so that's massive.

How are customer service and support?

I have a direct account manager, web support, email support, etc. Most of the support engineers I speak with are based in Ireland, but some are in Munich and the United States. They are very fast and helpful.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I am mostly using Symantec and Pure solutions. I also use Azure Access.

    How was the initial setup?

I have had any complications so far. It depends on the customer's environment, generally speaking. It usually is straightforward.

What other advice do I have?

I rate Web Security eight out of 10. It's secure and useful from an administrative point of view, with controllable login monitoring and so on.

Secure, reliable, is easy to install and has good technical support
    Pros and Cons
    • "The security of Trend Micro Web Security is good."
    • "Trend Micro Web Security is used for web filtering and protects the environment from web threats and malicious sites."
    • "I would like to see better scalability and better performance."
    • "The ease of use depends on the blacklisting of the sites. Some of the authorized sites have been blacklisted, which requires a request to unblock the site."

What is our primary use case?

Trend Micro Web Security is used for web filtering. It protects the environment from web threats and malicious sites.

    What is most valuable?

The security of Trend Micro Web Security is good.

    What needs improvement?

The ease of use depends on the blacklisting of the sites. Some of the authorized sites have been blacklisted, which requires a request to unblock the site. The process of authorizing sited needs to improve.

The performance could be better. Sometimes the browser hangs. it is possible that the integration in coordination with the browser causes that issue.

I would like to see better scalability and better performance.

For how long have I used the solution?

We implemented Trend Micro Web Security for a client approximately six months ago. I have been acquainted with it for a couple of months.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Trend Micro Web Security is a stable product, but the web browsers will hang at times.

We have two large company customers.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Trend Micro Web Security is a scalable product but it could be better. I would rate the scalability a seven out of ten.

How are customer service and technical support?

Technical support is okay, we don't have any issues with the technical support.

    How was the initial setup?

The installation is straightforward. It doesn't require a lot.

We have one engineer to implement and upgrade this solution in the client's environment. With the support of their local engineer that they have on-premises, we implement the solution.

    What about the implementation team?

We implement products for our clients.

What other advice do I have?

I would recommend this solution to others. If, however, they are using a different niche and using the other security levels then they don't need to use this product.

I would rate Trend Micro Web Security and eight out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Machine learning that looks at your activity and provides your devices protection from viruses
    Pros and Cons
    • "The most valuable feature is machine learning, which automatically monitors the activity on the machine."
    • "It has just about everything we need at a good value."
    • "The system should generate reports when an attack has been stopped, contained, or removed."

What is our primary use case?

The primary use case of this solution is to prevent our end-users from getting hacked, or getting viruses, ransomware, or any type of malware. The firewall protects information from coming in and the antivirus protects the machine.

How has it helped my organization?

We haven't been hit by any ransomware.

    What is most valuable?

The most valuable feature is machine learning, which automatically monitors the activity on the machine.

    What needs improvement?

The system should generate reports when an attack has been stopped, contained, or removed. As it is now, if an attack is halted then we don't know about it unless we search through the logs.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Trend Micro VirusWall for six or seven years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

This solution is stable. It's left a good impression with our company.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I would assume that It's a scalable solution. We have been using it for many years and have not needed to change.

All of our machines and servers have this antivirus on them.

How are customer service and technical support?

    The technical support is fine.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

Previously, we have not used another solution. We have been using this one for many years.

    How was the initial setup?

The initial setup was pretty straightforward and it took a day or two to deploy.

We only require a couple of hours, by a couple of people, to maintain this solution.

    What about the implementation team?

We didn't use an integrator, consultant, or vendor. We did it ourselves.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I don't remember the exact pricing, but I think that it is approximately $10.00 per user.

There are no costs in addition to the licensing fees.

What other advice do I have?

My advice is that you monitor your logs and your reports to see what the system has been doing. Otherwise, you may not know that an attack even happened.

It has just about everything we need at a good value.

I would rate this solution a nine out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

    On-premises
