The solution provides GUI control, making it particularly suitable for SMBs and SOHO networks
Pros and Cons
  • "The solution provides GUI control, making it particularly suitable for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) and small office/home office (SOHO) networks."
  • "The solution’s GUI should be improved a bit."

What is our primary use case?

We work with various types of switches, including the Aruba 8000 series, 6000 series, 2000 series, and 3000 series, depending on the specific requirements of our customers. We adapt our solutions to meet each customer's unique needs rather than focusing on a single model or type. Customers can easily manage, control, and monitor the solution via Aruba GUI.

What is most valuable?

The solution provides GUI control, making it particularly suitable for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) and small office/home office (SOHO) networks. However, for larger enterprise-level organizations, it is recommended to consider Aruba's industrial-grade products.

What needs improvement?

The solution’s GUI should be improved a bit. Nowadays, nobody wants to use CLI (command-line interface). Nobody wants to type a command because they don't have the time to remember it. Hence, they prefer to use GUI products.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Aruba Instant On Switches for the past six months.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

There was only one instance with a stability issue. Aruba Instant On Switches have limitations and aren't suitable for enterprise-level needs. This can result in functionality issues, power-related problems, and other challenges. We tried to tackle the challenge. However, when we required help, our service engineers contacted customer support.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

Before Aruba Instant On Switches, I worked with other products. Since I love technology, I learn about all types of technological products, including all types of switches.

How was the initial setup?

The solution’s initial setup is very easy.

What about the implementation team?

Our team of engineers are responsible for the installation of the solution.

What other advice do I have?

With respect to GUI, Aruba Instant On Switches has competitors in Cisco, D-Link, and NETGEAR.

Overall, I rate Aruba Instant On Switches a nine out of ten.

Access list and cloud capabilities enable secure management across multiple sites
Pros and Cons
  • "The most valuable features I find in Aruba Instant On switches include the access list and VLANs, along with other features such as security and cloud capabilities."
  • "Some models need enhancement of the web interface to make management and monitoring easier."

What is our primary use case?

I am using Aruba switches primarily for security, more than one site, stability, and reliability.

What is most valuable?

The most valuable features I find in Aruba Instant On switches include the access list and VLANs, along with other features such as security and cloud capabilities. The creation of multi-VLANs, access list between VLANs, control, management, and the easy monitoring of switches make it a reliable choice for my organization.

What needs improvement?

Some models need enhancement of the web interface to make management and monitoring easier. I would appreciate a single interface to manage all network switches from one dashboard.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been working with Aruba switches for more than two or three years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The product is very stable to use and very reliable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Scalability is a concern. We need to change the model if we want scalability since some models cannot cover all needs in future plans.

How are customer service and support?

HP's technical support is very good in terms of response time and quality. However, the support can depend on the company partner. I deal with a big partner in Egypt, which affects the support quality.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Neutral

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We previously used HP switches and moved to Aruba switches since we changed our infrastructure to HCI.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup for Aruba switches was simple compared to Cisco and other vendors.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I compared Aruba with Cisco, Juniper, and Fortinet. For Fortinet, I considered the FortiSwitch.

What other advice do I have?

I rate Aruba Instant On switches an eight out of ten.

Offers good security features to users
Pros and Cons
  • "The product's initial setup phase is very simple."
  • "Improvements are required in the product's price. I want it to be cheaper."

What is our primary use case?

Regarding the product, I have dealt with a few use cases involving the replacement of the hardware parts. I don't remember the use cases, but they were linked to software bugs.

What is most valuable?

The solution's most valuable feature revolves around the fact that we use remote access points for remote work in our company. Aruba's access points can be used to build IPsec tunnels with the main office. The tool has some general features for remote work.

What needs improvement?

Improvements are required in the product's price. I want it to be cheaper.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Aruba Instant On Switches for five years. My company has a partnership with Aruba.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

It is a stable solution. Stability-wise, I rate the solution a ten out of ten.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

It is a scalable solution.

How are customer service and support?

I have used the solution's technical support. The customer support is very friendly and has skilled engineers.

How was the initial setup?

The product's initial setup phase is very simple.

In terms of the product's deployment phase, if we are talking about an access point, I would say that we set up only one access point, and the other access points are connected to our network. The first access point works as a virtual controller for the setup of other access points.

What was our ROI?

The value derived from the use of the product revolves around the development area as it is very easy to run it in our environment.

What other advice do I have?

I recommended that our company's customers use switches and access points from Aruba.

We don't use the tool's mobile application.

I recommend the product to those who plan to use it because it offers stability and scalability.

Security features for applications in the form of a firewall for access points are good. Other vendors or access points don't offer a firewall.

I rate the tool a ten out of ten.
