We use BigPanda for monitoring and management. Our servers are all configured with New Relic, which sends the data to BigPanda.

The most valuable feature is the dashboard. The main thing that we like about BigPanda is the user interface.

The cost of this product is too high compared to New Relic.

It would be helpful if we could receive alerts through IP.

We have been using BigPanda for the past year.

My impression is that it's stable.

We have nearly 6,000 servers configured to use BigPanda.

We haven't had any problems so we haven't needed to contact technical support.

The initial setup is complex.

We pay $200,000 USD per year.

We are currently doing research on Moogsoft and are looking to move to it from BigPanda. The reason that we are switching is an issue of cost.

Overall, it is very basic to use. I am satisfied with all of the features and our only complaint is about the high cost.

We wanted a 'one-stop-shop' for event monitoring, visualization, and infrastructure development with AI. Unfortunately, BigPanda attempts a little bit of everything and fails at most. 

The AI, in particular, was worthless. The visualization is primitive and not configurable. The only thing they seemed to be able to do is to collect a bunch of identical error messages into one - which is great and all, however, hardly the 'advanced AIOPS solution' they tout.   

The best of a bad lot was the error message deduping. We wanted a 'one-stop-shop' for event monitoring, visualization, and infrastructure DevOps with AI. 

The solution has a hard install, poor customer support, primitive and non-configurable visualizations.

I've used the solution for 1.5 years.

The product is highly unstable.

The solution is not scalable.

Technical support is non-existent. There is no phone and they don't answer emails for days. Buyer beware.

We did not use a different solution.

The setup is incredibly complex in hindsight. They had two engineers working around the clock for a simple setup. It was ridiculous. Moog was way smoother. 

We did the implementation via a vendor.

We got no return on our investment, unfortunately.

I'd advise people to stay away from BP.

We did evaluate Splunk.

We use the solution for a central management console.

The solution is user-friendly and has good performance and certification.

We had to use a partner for the deployment.

I am currently working as a troubleshooting member. I receive incidents or alerts that automatically generate incidents through ServiceNow. As of now, I am just using it for alert analysis.

BigPanda simplifies the process by consolidating multiple monitoring platforms into a single console where I can view all issues. Its automation capabilities are impressive, as it creates and resolves incidents if alerts are resolved without much troubleshooting. This eliminates human effort. Additionally, its automation has significantly improved incident response times, reducing the process to within one minute.

BigPanda sometimes creates false incidents and workarounds, causing financial disturbances because we pay for each incident. These false incidents can lead the whole team to focus on them only to find out it was a glitch. A 'deep dive' analysis feature would be appreciated to give detailed insights such as CPU usage and disk space analysis. Improved accuracy in alert generation would also be beneficial.

I have been working with BigPanda for more than two years.

During the initial phase, BigPanda created some false incidents and showed incorrect data, such as indicating a server went offline years back. This caused confusion and required modifications to scripts to resolve these issues.

BigPanda is now stable. Initial issues concerning false alerts were fixed over time by modifying scripts after thorough analysis, making it reliable now.

BigPanda is scalable. It handles large volumes of alerts without limitations and integrates multiple platforms seamlessly.

I have not interacted with BigPanda's technical support team, so I am not aware of their service quality.

Positive

Previously, we used multiple monitoring platforms such as Dynatrace and SolarWinds, but BigPanda consolidates them into a single console.

The initial setup took about a week to stabilize. We encountered challenges such as false incidents and incorrect data display, which required us to modify scripts for accuracy.

There was a separate transformation team responsible for the implementation. I assisted with landing our servers but was not heavily involved in the overall implementation.

I recommend BigPanda for making human effort less and ensuring faster incident resolution, which prevents SLA violations. Overall, I would rate BigPanda eight out of ten.
