A highly scalable and reasonably stable tool that needs to improve on its prices
Pros and Cons
  • "The most valuable feature of the solution is its monitoring part to debug certain issues and find problems."
  • "The high price of the solution is an area of concern where improvements are required."

What is our primary use case?

Boomi AtomSphere Integration is a product used in some major pharmaceutical companies, making it quite a good solution. I had previously been in a major project where the solution was used. The solution is useful for integration with the data warehouse and SAP systems.

What is most valuable?

The most valuable feature of the solution is its monitoring part to debug certain issues and find problems.

What needs improvement?

I have not been so deeply involved that I could comment on what needs improvement in the solution. In general, I have not been an actual high-level user of the solution to comment on details concerning improvement in the tool.

I remember that one of my customers felt that Boomi AtomSphere Integration was a highly expensive product, owing to which they were looking for cheaper solutions. The high price of the solution is an area of concern where improvements are required.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have experience with Boomi AtomSphere Integration's latest version.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

It is a stable solution. Stability-wise, I rate the solution a nine out of ten.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

It is a highly scalable solution. Scalability-wise, I rate the solution a ten out of ten.

My clients who use the solution are mostly enterprise-sized businesses.

How was the initial setup?

I rate the product's initial setup an eight on a scale of one to ten, where one is difficult, and ten is easy.

The solution is deployed on a private cloud.

The solution's deployment phase took weeks to be completed.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I rate the product's price an eight on a scale of one to ten, where one is cheap and ten is expensive.

What other advice do I have?

In my company, we use many video conferencing tools. I have seen that in video conferencing tools, the counterparts are very different. I have experience with Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Tencent Meeting.

I was not deeply involved in Boomi AtomSphere Integration since it was already up and running when I joined my company's project. I could look back in the past to find out the product's history, and that is the most I can do. I know what the product is used for, but I can't go too much into the details.

Whether I would recommend the product or not actually depends on what a customer wants to achieve with the solution while also considering factors like the experience of the integration team and the kind of support a customer has in their company. It is not just about the technology but also the skills of a company or the partners with whom a company has relations.

Compared to Boomi AtomSphere Integration, there are easier products around, like MuleSoft or Jitterbit. I see MuleSoft or Jitterbit evolving since they have established a lot of integrations, depending on the markets and other things. From my perspective, Jitterbit was easier to operate and set up, while MuleSoft tried to simplify their product a lot when compared to Boomi AtomSphere Integration. MuleSoft started off as a very complex product, but now it's getting easier and easier, and MuleSoft now has a lite version. I didn't hear anything about Boomi AtomSphere Integration, especially in terms of major product improvements, which I know about.

I rate the overall tool a six out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Exceptional drag-and-drop integration module
Pros and Cons
  • "The connection configuration part and the drag-and-drop integration module are the most valuable features for me."
  • "Documentation could be improved."

What is our primary use case?

Our customers are using Boomi AtomSphere Integration. And we are supporting it.

What is most valuable?

The connection configuration part and the drag-and-drop integration module are the most valuable features for me. Also, Boomi's SaaS approach software and iPass solution are very helpful.

What needs improvement?

It would be great to have more assistance and credit services for additional features. For instance, virtual class initials are available but not for backend processing moves. Making that more visible, like other Azure products, would be helpful.

Moreover, the documentation is good, but it could be improved. It is changing every day, and I sometimes find that it's not updated enough or some code levels are not included.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been working with this product for approximately three years. Multiple versions exist, but I am currently working with the latest one.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I would rate the stability a seven out of ten. I have faced some issues with stability. However, it is not always related to the product itself. It could be due to a new version, a configuration issue, or sometimes a problem with a backend setup, including the molecular setup, but it's not a major problem.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

It is a scalable product that can be used by both small and enterprise companies, depending on the specific industry and their needs. For example, it can be used in healthcare, banking, or the automobile industry, and if a company can afford it, they can arrange to use it.

How are customer service and support?

The customer support is quite good. We have a hotline for immediate support and an email ID to communicate with different people in the community, so most solutions are available and easily accessible. It is open source and easy to avail.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is quite easy. The implementation time depends on the project and the scope of work.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I have not worked with any integration platform as a service before but I have experience with middle or integration tools. I worked with different products and in Streamhub Informatics, where I used some other middle work tools. So it's different.

I cannot say Boomi is the best option because I have not used all the million products like Mulesoft. But if you want to implement some integration that non-technical people can understand, then Boomi is a good option. It is low coding construction, so you don't need as much effort as other products.

What other advice do I have?

I would advise you to go through all the notifications and learn more about the product because you will gradually learn more by making changes.

I would give it an eight out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Hybrid Cloud

Great at reducing integration times and has a good development environment
Pros and Cons
  • "Very effective with its drag-and-drop feature."
  • "Have to create some of our own pre-built connectors."

What is our primary use case?

We're using Boomi for integrating multiple different applications into NetSuite. Some are in-house applications, and some are typical task platforms. We're resellers and consultants but mainly integrators for enterprise-size organizations. I'm the CTO and we are partners with Boomi.

What is most valuable?

It's great for us that Boomi has the capability to do what we need. It reduces integration times and has a good development environment. The solution is mainly drag and drop which is really effective, and we've found it to be cost-effective as well.

What needs improvement?

There are pre-built connectors, but we end up having to create some of them on our own based on API documentation.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've been using this solution for three years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The solution is stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The solution is scalable.

How are customer service and support?

The technical support is good, both the direct support from the company and the community support as well.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

How was the initial setup?

Once you get going, it's really a straightforward solution. It's not something you see, it just works in the background. There are no end users as such although the solution affects all of your users on the systems that you interconnect with.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

There are costs in addition to a development cost, of course. The minimum is about 15 to 20K a year, and it can increase depending on volume. The amount is comparable to other solutions so it's relatively affordable. The companies that use Boomi are companies that already use many applications. For a multi-million dollar company, $20,000 for licensing is reasonable.

What other advice do I have?

I think it's important to find a good partner because there's always going to be new technology you'll want to implement, and working with a partner that knows how to integrate new systems is very helpful. The expertise is more about the things that need integrating on top of Boomi. If you only know Boomi and not how things work on the SAP side, you're only covered for around 60% of the work needed.

I rate this solution eight out of 10.

Stable platform with an easy initial setup process
Pros and Cons
  • "The platform is user-friendly."
  • "It is a costly platform. Its pricing could be better."

What is our primary use case?

We use the platform for SAP integrations.

What is most valuable?

The platform is user-friendly. It has the best features for building and deploying integrations.

What needs improvement?

It is a costly platform. Its pricing could be better.

For how long have I used the solution?

We have been using Boomi AtomSphere Integration as a customer for three years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

It is a stable platform. I rate its stability a ten out of ten.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

We have three analysts using the platform. I rate its scalability a seven out of ten. It can be improved in terms of customization.

How was the initial setup?

The platform’s initial setup is straightforward. I rate its process a ten out of ten. We click a button, and a script automates the process. It takes less than an hour to complete.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I rate the platform’s pricing a ten out of ten. It is very expensive and based on connectors. Thus, we are looking for a low-cost solution with similar integration services.

What other advice do I have?

The platform is good. I recommend it to others. I advise others to go for it if the use case is heavy. They should prefer using other tools if there are just a few connections. The platform is not consumption-dependent but connector dependent.

I rate it an eight out of ten.

Offers quick development, an easy setup, and less coding
Pros and Cons
  • "It's very user-friendly and designed to be easy to use for the end user."
  • "There are very few string handling functions and few mathematical functions are available."

What is our primary use case?

We primarily use the solution for application to application integration.

What is most valuable?

The solution offers quick development and less coding and isn't much industry-specific. Whatever component you need, it is available, including connectors, or different software components, especially to write your code and logic.

The setup is pretty easy.

It's very user-friendly and designed to be easy to use for the end user. People can learn how to use the tool pretty quickly.

It can scale well.

What needs improvement?

There are very few string handling functions and few mathematical functions are available.

We'd like technical support to be a little bit better.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've used the solution for five or six years now.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The stability is pretty good. I'd rate it 6.5 to seven out of ten in terms of reliability.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

It is a scalable product. Users can expand it if they like.

We have around 400 to 500 users right now. We do have plans to increase usage in the future.

How are customer service and support?

We have used technical support in the past. They could be improved a bit.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

In the past, I have also used TIBCO. We use it for a new customer. Customers tend to use Boomi based on the lower price and the reduction of capital investment.

How was the initial setup?

The ease of implementation in terms of setup depends on whether you are doing a setup for an enterprise-scale company or not and how you're doing the setup. That said, the setup is not too complex here. I'd rate it 8.5 out of ten in terms of ease of setup.

In my experience, you only need three or four team members to handle an enterprise-level setup.

What about the implementation team?

The initial setup can be done in-house. Companies don't necessarily need to hire a consultant or integrator to get it done.

What was our ROI?

We have witnessed an ROI with this solution.

I have seen many customers who are moving from existing integration products to Boomi. Many enterprises use multiple integrations, including, for example, WebMethods, or some pile-based solution for SFTP or MFT-related work. However, you can do everything in Boomi. So you can control everything using a single platform. That can save money.

The support and maintenance are good as well and that might help companies save. Getting good technical support on other products may be challenging. With Boomi support, you can get easily train people easily.

The deployment is also very fast. You do need not a very complex deployment process. That helps save time. Users can start right away doing what they need to do.

You do not need to pay per infrastructure if you are not using something. Or if you have some connector, if you are not using it, you do not need to pay for that. The pricing model is attractive.

All these aspects give you a good return on investment.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

You do need to buy a license to use the solution. It is not expensive. The model is pay-as-you-go. You only pay for what you use.

What other advice do I have?

The solution offers both cloud and on-premises deployments.

I'd rate the solution eight out of ten. I'd recommend it to other users and companies, as we have had a pretty good experience with its functionality.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Public Cloud

Easy to learn and implement and valuable for batch use cases
Pros and Cons
  • "It is easy to learn and implement."
  • "It requires less development and has no learning curve, as it is easy to learn and implement."
  • "It crashes if we run high-volume integration."
  • "It is quite stable, but it crashes if we run high-volume integration."

What is our primary use case?

We use it for both real-time and batch use cases.

What is most valuable?

It requires less development and has no learning curve. It is easy to learn and implement.

What needs improvement?

For how long have I used the solution?

We have been using this solution for almost eight years and are using the latest version.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

It is quite stable, but it crashes if we run high-volume integration. So it needs to be monitored and executed appropriately.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

We have about 50 users using Boomi AtomSphere Integration and plan to increase it. One technical expert and some internal knowledge of Boomi AtomSphere Integration is enough.

How are customer service and support?

I rate the technical support an eight out of ten.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We have not used any other integration platform but evaluated other platforms before proceeding with Boomi AtomSphere Integration.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup took half a day, and we completed it ourselves.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The licensing cost depends on the number of applications.

What other advice do I have?

I rate this solution a nine out of ten. I would recommend this solution to others. It is the most promising tool for integration.
