Easy to set up with good functionality and adaptability.
I'm not sure how it could be better. It has everything I need for my work. It would be ideal if there was more research on the product available. We'd like it to have solutions within the product that can help us complete tasks a bit faster. It would be nice if the solution had some sort of bot or assistant within the solution to help us with work within the product. If we could deploy queries and get an answer faster, within 30 minutes, instead of within a day or two.

Building reliable web APIs and sites has become faster and development stays well supported
I think Microsoft can make ASP.NET better by catching up with other frameworks by adopting features that are very popular in those frameworks, such as minimal APIs and other innovations. They have introduced Blazor, which is their newer front-end development software framework, but unfortunately, Blazor is not well adopted in the market. However, I feel that they will catch up in the future as Blazor has a lot of potential. In my opinion, there is not anything extra needed immediately for ASP.NET; the framework is self-sufficient and very mature at this stage. The problem lies with wider adoption, as some people are anti-Microsoft and prefer open-source alternatives such as React. Microsoft could potentially do a better job at marketing these solutions, but other than that, the tool has the potential to be used in any enterprise-level applications. I would say the setup process for ASP.NET is relatively simple, but with the latest generation of user management or integration with OpenID, the documentation is not comprehensive in terms of what you can do with the latest libraries. They support many things and have decoupled themselves from their own identity servers, but still need to improve documentation considerably.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Adobe Flash is simple and easy-to-use software. It is very familiar and compatible with other Adobe software, making it easier to use."
"With the alliance with Microsoft, the product is perfectly integrated."
"Without Adobe Flash player, I wouldn't be able to do my day-to-day functions."
"The UI is really good."
"I am impressed with the tool’s documentation."
"The solution is very easy to maintain because UI management is simple and many libraries are available."
"The most valuable features are ease of use, scalability, and flexibility."
"The most valuable feature is that it's easy to use."
"The most valuable feature of ASP.NET is its visual side, which makes building Windows forms applications visually efficient."
"I have found the entity framework to be a valuable feature. The authentication layer is amazing as well. ASP.NET has a vibrant community, and as a result, we haven't had the need to contact technical support."
"The solution is easy to learn, understand and develop."
"We find the solution to be scalable."
"The solution's framework supports storing all client-side and server-side code in one place."

Cons

"Adobe can focus on the gaming side mode."
"It would be nice to have more integration and faster integration."
"It would be nice to see Adobe Flash as a separate application instead of embedding it with other apps. I want the product to be a simple app. The product’s scalability is also one of its weak points."
"It would be ideal if there was more research on the product available."
"At times it can be slow, but other than that it is a great and helpful product."
"It could use better reporting and documentation."
"ASP.NET is not the best solution for all companies looking to implement a solution like it."
"It would be beneficial if Microsoft provided more support for certain technologies, such as Blazor, in the form of basic components. As it stands, some reliance on third-party tools may be necessary. Having more support from Microsoft for these technologies would make it easier for users to build and maintain applications. For example, the grids, date pickers, and dropdown lists would be components to add."
"Scripted languages like AngularJS and Node.js are much faster than using ASP on the client side."
"The solution's initial setup is intermediate, and it could be improved."
"The con is that every year they are launching a new technology, and for a company like us, we get confused which version should be used."
"In my opinion, this solution should improve their web toolkit."
"I am sure there is something that has room for improvement but nothing specific comes to mind."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The price is okay so far."
"The tool’s pricing is fair."
"ASP.NET is open-source and free of charge."
"The solution requires a licensing fee but is worth the investment."
"The price of ASP.NET is reasonable. I rate the pricing a five out of ten."
"The pricing is somewhere in the middle. Not too expensive, but not the cheapest either."
"The solution is comparatively cheaper, and you don't have to pay anything for a developer license."
"ASP.NET is an open-source solution."
"On a scale from one to ten, with one being cost efficient and 10 being the most expensive, I would rate ASP.NET's pricing at six. There used to be IAF, which you could spin on a Windows machine. However, that sort of setup does not exist for Linux machines. Because customers still prefer a Windows underlying infrastructure, it can get expensive."
"ASP.NET is not an expensive solution."
