Boost authentication and session management with reliable and fast data handling
There is a lot of technical debt in our company, and we need to update to the latest versions. The lack of automation in upgrading clusters from development to production is a concern. A tool for automatically handling such upgrades would reduce operational huddle. Additionally, it would be beneficial if Aerospike had a community version to encourage broader adoption and experimentation.

Offers reliable engine for legacy needs but requires enhanced cost management and AI features
While MongoDB is a good product, it is also an expensive product for support, and its scalability is acceptable, but the big problem with MongoDB is the cost. For security in MongoDB, we work with encrypted databases by default, but we have not contracted the security options in our contract because it is too expensive, so we only implement encrypted databases without the security pack, which is very expensive for us; in security, we are at the first steps, just using encrypted databases. I think additional features needed in MongoDB include perhaps vector databases, as I think they are not supported right now.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"It shows better compression and compaction, which is valuable."
"MongoDB has definitely helped us improve our network monitoring and reporting dashboard, so I would say it has impacted our operations positively overall."
"The most valuable feature of MongoDB is the NoSQL database. In a SQL database, we need to join data together with a unique ID amongst other things, but in MongoDB, it's not required. We can directly receive all the information. The performance is very good. Additionally, they have frequent updates."
"MongoDB's dashboards offer more functionalities and allow you to create a dashboard with MongoDB database data."
"MongoDB's dashboards offer more functionalities and allow you to create a dashboard with MongoDB database data."
"It's super easy to develop a couple of solutions for clients with MongoDB, like a quick web page with no clear data structure that they need to spin up quickly to validate some sort of MDTP."
"We've found the product to be scalable."
"The most valuable features of MongoDB include the flexible schema for storing data, its replication capabilities with high availability through a replica set setup, and horizontal scalability using sharding."
"MongoDB is highly stable, and I would rate its stability at nine out of ten."

Cons

"The lack of automation in upgrading clusters from development to production is a concern."
"There can be stability issues."
"When third-party data warehouses are integrated, we are seeing some ETL job performance issues."
"I have found the solution difficult to operate as an administrator."
"The free tools, like MongoDB Compass, could be enhanced."
"People coming from RDBMS should have the flexibility to write queries in SQL that can be converted into JSON queries."
"The transaction could use improvement. From MySQL, for example, you cannot create a transaction if you are reading and writing a document at the same time."
"The scalability of the solution has room for improvement."
"The on-premises version of the solution is still pretty expensive, especially compared to the cloud version."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"We use around half a TB of data and spend approximately $36,000 to $40,000 USD per year on Aerospike."
"The product is affordable."
"I believe that MongoDB is free."
"MongoDB has a free version. You can also buy the enterprise edition, which is cheaper than Oracle."
"At the moment, all customers are using the community version."
"If you want support with the solution you will need to purchase a license and not use the open-source version. The license is a little expensive."

"I'm using the free version of MongoDB."
"The solution is open source, so it is free."
