Has supported container workflows through fast image handling and seamless service integrations
The most valuable feature of Amazon ECR is that we can push and pull faster than other similar products. It means saving and retrieving more efficiently. This is not manual dragging and dropping, but rather programmatic taking and saving. I have used Amazon ECR with Lambda, EC2, and EFS. These are integrable services where you can call Amazon ECR from anywhere in AWS. If my product is not always dependent totally on Amazon ECR only, but if the product is dependent on Amazon ECR only, then having a low time to load, low time to save, and a faster containerizing process time would affect the software's response time. This is important.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Amazon ECR has a native integration with all AWS services, making it convenient for use within the AWS ecosystem."
"I recommend using AWS services for their availability, scalability, performance, and observability."
"What I like most about Amazon ECR is that it's swift."
"There are no issues, the service is remarkably stable, and it's rare to see the registry experiencing downtime unless perhaps AWS itself is completely down."
"The main feature I value is the ability to deposit and retrieve images."
"The solution is very stable."
"The most tool's valuable feature is image scanning."
"There are no issues. The service is remarkably stable."
"One of the benefits of this solution is that it's private and secure."
"It's running behind a big financial and legal customer, who runs Service Fabric behind a front door, servicing local banking containers on an ISV solution developed internally."
"The solution has built-in resiliency and replication zone availability so it is very stable."
"The geo-replication features of Azure Container Registry are powerful, facilitating alias connectivity and architecture implementation with private endpoints, while the integration with Azure Kubernetes services ensures reliable deployments."
"What I like best about Azure Container Registry is that it's fast. It also has 24 x 7 reliability. I didn't face any downtime issues using Azure Container Registry. I also like how secure the solution is, especially as it's from Microsoft."
"Azure Container Registry is an easy-to-install, easy-to-configure, and easy-to-deploy solution."
"The most valuable feature is that it's easy to download, install and manage."
"We like the fact that this is a secure solution, that employs a token-based system, which can be used to manage all the applications under this product."

Cons

"The documentation could be improved."
"The Amazon ECR interface could benefit from improvements to enhance user experience."
"Deeper integration with other security tools would enhance usability."
"Amazon ECR needs to improve its downtime."
"Amazon ECR should include integration with Docker Hub."
"There were a few issues related to the roles, policies, and retrieval of data when trying to fetch images for deployment on Amazon ECS. This can involve permissions and configuration complexities."
"Providing more ways to scan the image integrated with ECR would enhance security in the software development life cycle."
"Its support for system architecture needs improvement."
"The building of images on the container is quite cumbersome."
"Implementation needs improvement. We have a lot of open, online sources. Doing a deployment is easy for us. The only issue is when we have VPN connections and we try to pull the images from Container images to the local Dockers, it slows down."
"We have found that it is sometimes difficult to pull images from the host application."
"The solution has no areas that need improvement."
"The deployment is an area that needs improvement, as it can take some time to deploy."
"The solution has become more popular in the last few years but I find that the technical support has not increased their knowledge base, so more knowledgeable support staff can help improve the solution."
"There is a need for a graphical interface instead of writing code in Visual Studio to create images."
"While downtime is uncommon, there are occasional server errors like '404 not found' and '504 server not found'. Viewing server logs is not a reliable approach, and improving log visibility would help in troubleshooting efficiently."
