Easy to use, efficient, and straightforward installation
Amazon Elasticsearch is a search engine. We set up the index from where the content was and moved the content in to get it indexed. We provided the end user with a fairly full-featured search, and they were included in being able to write their own bullion The most valuable features of Amazon…

Captures data from all other sources and becomes a MOM aka monitoring of monitors
Scalability and ROI are the areas they have to improve. Their license terms are based on the number of cores. If you increase the number of cores, it becomes very difficult to manage at a large scale. For example, if I have a $3 million project, I won't sell it because if we're dealing with a 10 TB or 50 TB system, there are a lot of systems and applications to monitor, and I have to make an MOM (Mean of Max) for everything. This is because of the cost impact. Also, when you have horizontal scaling, it's like a multi-story building with only one elevator. You have to run around, and it's not efficient. Even the smallest task becomes difficult. That's the problem with horizontal scaling. They need to improve this because if they increase the cores and adjust the licensing accordingly, it would make more sense.

"The most valuable features of Amazon Elasticsearch are ease of use, native JSON, and efficiency. Additionally, handles many use cases and search grammar was useful."
"In case there is a failure, Elastic manages everything well, and there no major downtime."
"Regarding valuable features of the solution, we found with the process, which we have used in both cases where we used the solution that while you're seeing the streaming of data, you can analyze in the initial phase what sort of data you are streaming and whether it is valuable."
"The initial set up is very easy...We really appreciate Amazon!"
"The stability of the product is good."
"It's a good log management platform. In terms of infrastructure management, it's good."
"The forced merge and forced resonate features reduce the data size increasing reliability."
"The solution is very good with no issues or glitches."
"The AI-based attribute tagging is a valuable feature."
"The initial setup is very easy for small environments."
"We had many reasons to implement Elasticsearch for search term solutions. Elasticsearch products provide enterprise landscape support for different areas of the company."
"Data indexing of historical data is the most beneficial feature of the product."
"Implementing the main requirements regarding my support portal."
"The solution has good security features. I have been happy with the dashboards and interface."

Cons

"I want to see a new feature in Amazon Elasticsearch Service that allows users to create default filters for filtered levels."
"I would say that, basically, the configuration part is an area with a shortcoming...Some upgradation is required on the configuration side so that we can get to use it."
"The configuration should be more straightforward because we had to select a lot of things."
"Amazon Elasticsearch can improve the bullion in the near search and the ease of integration with Kibana. Additionally, there could be more flexibility in the configuration and documentation."
"One glaring issue was with our mapping configuration as the system accepted the data we posted, but after a few months, when we attempted complex queries, we realized the date formatting had become problematic."
"There is a problem with the database. Amazon only provides the hosting to run our applications bias, but there is no option to manage the database within the Elasticsearch product."
"Elastic Enterprise Search can improve by adding some kind of search that can be used out of the box without too much struggle with configuration. With every kind of search engine, there is some kind of special function that you need to do. A simple out-of-the-box search would be useful."
"The documentation regarding customization could be better."
"The real-time search functionality is not operational due to its impact on system resources."
"I would rate the stability a seven out of ten. We faced a few issues."
"Performance improvement could come from skipping background refresh on search idle shards (which is already being addressed in the upcoming seventh version)."
"The solution has quite a steep learning curve. The usability and general user-friendliness could be improved. However, that is kind of typical with products that have a lot of flexibility, or a lot of capabilities. Sometimes having more choices makes things more complex. It makes it difficult to configure it, though. It's kind of a bitter pill that you have to swallow in the beginning and you really have to get through it."
"Improving machine learning capabilities would be beneficial."
"I would like to see more integration for the solution with different platforms."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"You only pay for what you use."
"The solution is not expensive, but priced averagely, I will say."
"There is a community edition available and the price of the commercial offering is reasonable."
"Compared to other cloud platforms, it is manageable and not very expensive."
"The solution is free."
"The version of Elastic Enterprise Search I am using is open source which is free. The pricing model should improve for the enterprise version because it is very expensive."
"The tool is an open-source product."
"The pricing and license model are clear: node-based model."
"There is a free version, and there is also a hosted version for which you have to pay. We're currently using the free version. If things go well, we might go for the paid version."
"This is a free, open source software (FOSS) tool, which means no cost on the front-end. There are no free lunches in this world though. Technical skill to implement and support are costly on the back-end with ELK, whether you train/hire internally or go for premium services from Elastic."
"Although the ELK Elasticsearch software is open-source, we buy the hardware."
"we are using a licensed version of the product."
