Unified data platform has improved regulatory compliance but still needs better integration features
It is difficult to say about Azure Stack improvement because I need to revisit and study it again. The pricing is okay, but on the services side, perhaps we need to think about some services, not all. I would not like to see any additional features in the future. To give them more like a 9 out of 10 or 10 out of 10, I think they need to improve on the interface, implementation, configuration, and integration with other products, so I rate them an eight. As compared to AWS, they need to add more features. I would like to see operations and storage features, like AI features or security features.

Consolidated data centers and improved backup and disaster recovery performance
The main point for improvement in VMware Cloud on AWS is the technical support. As for additional features, currently, to perform any automation, a subscription to Aria Operations is required, but that feature is being removed from VMware Cloud on AWS. I would prefer if essential automation functionalities were included directly within VMware Cloud on AWS rather than needing an additional subscription. Additionally, on the cost aspect, it would be beneficial to have ready-made reports for chargebacks against departments or projects without extensive analysis of compute, memory, and storage. When it comes to storage, a significant portion is reserved for management purposes, limiting usable storage. Following RAID configuration, we only have about 40% available for actual workload consumption. Consequently, estimating costs associated with storage becomes challenging. In summary, we need better price management, capacity management, and availability reporting in VMware Cloud on AWS. Currently, I rely on third-party tools for notifications, but such features should be readily available within VMware Cloud on AWS to ease the workload for administrators or operation heads.

Pros

"The tool has simplified our application development."
"The solution is easy to use, especially for individuals who are not familiar with coding and has security built-in."
"Azure Stack is a good product because it's flexible and easy to work with."
"It is probably the best solution out there."
"The most valuable feature is the OCR, which I use for reading PDFs."
"The solution's technical support is great since, in our company, we get answers to most of our questions, and most of our queries get resolved with the help of the documentation itself."
"The solution meets customers' regulatory requirements. Scalability allows for tasks such as transferring data and accessing local files."
"It is very easy to learn and apply to other things."
"The initial setup process is straightforward."
"A backup of one core application that previously took seven to eight hours now completes within one to one and a half hours after migrating to VMware Cloud on AWS."
"It's a private solution, mainly. But with VMware on AWS, the best part is the ease of migration from VMware to VMware."

Cons

"I would like to see better network integration."
"As opposed to AWS, Azure is a costly solution. It's on par with AWS more than anything else."
"They can provide more integration with other services, such as components, open source, because I use these services."
"Certain elements are difficult to deploy."
"There should be more focus on the user interface, specifically for the management console."
"The solution could use more training materials to help users understand how to use the product effectively. Online training would also be a beneficial addition to the product."
"I think Azure Stack is a bit expensive, but it is definitely easier to calculate because of the calculator that has been provided."
"Azure Stack could use some improvement when it comes to seamless support for disaster recovery scenarios of higher availability regarding multi-regions."
"The platform's cost could be reduced."
"The main point for improvement in VMware Cloud on AWS is the technical support."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Azure Stack has an annual licensing fee, which is very expensive."
"The people who manage the budgets are satisfied with the solution’s medium pricing, which is neither very expensive nor very cheap."
"It is in the medium range cost-wise. For each component, I sort of buy licensing. Each component has its licensing fee by the number of users or by size."
"The licensing costs are expensive."
"Azure Stack is cheaper than AWS."
"It is not a cost-friendly solution."
"Azure Stack is a medium-priced product, so it is not overpriced, but the prices may be higher for certain services."
