Efficient project management with roadmap and hierarchy features
I use Broadcom Clarity for end-to-end project and program portfolio management Every customer has achieved a return on investment within the first six months of implementation with Broadcom Clarity. The most valuable features of Broadcom Clarity are the roadmap feature and the hierarchy feature,…

A flexible, stable, and scalable tool requiring an easy initial setup phase
The screen sharing provided by the solution can be a challenge to a user. Screen sharing is an area that needs improvement in the solution. With the buttons or the options on the screen in Teamwork, it is important to provide users with a little description of what each option does so that it helps you do your work easily without focusing on the interface.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Being able to look at the data across team members, resources, projects and coming up with the algorithms and resources."
"It is a scalable, easy-to-deploy, and user-friendly solution for enterprise businesses."
"I appreciate the report that shows how utilized a person is set to be within the coming months. I use that feature a good bit."
"Visibility is the number one feature. They can see where the bottlenecks are, they can see what their project statuses are, why are things being held up, etc."
"It's definitely improving our ability to make better decisions, and improving the quality of data that we have, to make the decisions for the strategic good of the company."
"The new UI makes it easier for people to go in there and know what to do. To train people, it's faster, more intuitive."
"Having information all together in one single source."
"You can find the statistics of the products, share reports, and open boxes. Additionally, its ease of use helps with project management."
"Teamwork has made process management easier and much better. It is very robust and improves by making a lot of changes. It is easy to use and has lots of reports."
"The setup was very easy. Deployment was very fast for us. We started using it within two weeks."
"It is a very stable solution...The initial setup of Teamwork is easy."

Cons

"One of the limitations would be mapping our current agile processes in the same tool set without obviously integrating to a different type of tool set within the same portfolio."
"When we upgraded to 15.1, we had some challenges around Jaspersoft, and also some issues with supporting some of the complex process work flows that we had designed internally, that were affected by some changes in the process engine."
"CA Communities need a lot of improvement."
"We use Service Desk Manager as well. We have a custom tool to integrate the two. One of the reasons why PPM was chosen was because, "Well, it must integrate with SDM, because they're the same company." But that was not the case."
"The Work Breakdown Structure in the Tasks: I should be able to drag and drop to a level three instead of just stuck at level two."
"I would really like a modern UI. I do not want to get on a user interface and feel like I am in the 1990's."
"Stability is fine, but it's not good."
"It should be integrated with CA Service Desk Manager so that, when you have time for a ticket or when someone gets assigned a ticket, in PPM it automatically shows that they have to account for that: that they would both enter time in the past and, also, that this is going to take them time in the future."
"The screen sharing provided by the solution can be a challenge to a user. Screen sharing is an area that needs improvement in the solution."
"The product is expensive. It needs to have a more robust and customizable calendar."
"The product could be improved with more integrations and a mobile app."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It is hard for them to say, "I have a person on my team who is going to be available, I am going to move that task to them". That requires a project management license, it doesn't require a team member license, so the licensing model does not sometimes support the way the business world is going."
"There are different licensing models with Broadcom Clarity PPM. With the software as a service model, you pay as you go, and if you are on-premises, you can buy a perpetual license and an annual fee for maintenance."
"Broadcom Clarity PPM costs us $500K, and that's only for the installation and kick off within the first year. For each succeeding year, it could cost $200K."
"Cost-wise, the tool is very expensive and some tools might be able to cater to 80% of the functionality provided by Broadcom Clarity PPM but are not as expensive."
"Better understanding of requirements and how it will be implemented (with number of licenses for a given budget) would help."
"We're also moving to the latest version for less than $20,000 for a major corporate system. It's just amazing."
"The subscription is not that expensive."
"The price of Broadcom Clarity PPM is reasonable. My customers pay a license to use this solution on an annual basis."
"My company makes annual payments towards the licensing costs of the solution."
"We negotiate on pricing since we are a long-term user."
