Extensive real-time analytics and superior support enhance decision making but continued product evolution impacts existing investments
Improvement is needed, and they need to slow down. When I say slow down, they need to do more validation. Things are going rapidly and changing fast. For example, they moved from SAP SRM product to SAP CLM. They bought IBM CLM and marketed it as SAP CLM. Shortly after, they bought SAP Ariba and discontinued the SAP CLM product. Now they state that SAP SRM is outdated and has reached sunset. The challenge is that if a customer has already deployed the entire solution on-premises, it becomes difficult to immediately convert to the new product and manage new license costs. From a consulting perspective, it appears that SAP's biggest competitor is itself, as they sometimes discontinue their own products to promote new ones.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Certinia ERP is user-friendly and provides comprehensive support for accounting-related tasks."
"It has features like bank reconciliation and the financial report builder which enhance operational efficiency."
"The most valuable features of SAP S/4HANA Cloud are the detailed solution costing, integration, and built-in analytics."
"Since SAP S/4HANA Cloud is a SaaS application, it is already providing a lot of standard out-of-the-box features."
"The most valuable features of SAP S/4HANA Cloud are the ease of use from the cloud, CapEx analysis report, and everything being connected together well."
"SAP S4HANA Cloud is one of the best products in enterprise solutions, especially in manufacturing, retail, logistics, wholesaling, and distribution."
"Speed has improved and getting analytical reports has been simplified."
"The tool selection is really robust and scalable for multiple scenarios."
"The good thing about SAP S_4HANA Cloud is its scalability, performance, and great database compression, which far exceeds traditional databases such as Oracle, allowing for large data storage at reduced costs, plus faster real-time transaction processing compared to ECC 6.0."
"The integration between SAP EWM and S4HANA Cloud is seamless."

Cons

"The customer support takes too long to respond, which could be improved by focusing on reducing the time for issue resolution."
"The bank statement feature takes a lot of time and can be improved to make reconciliation quicker."
"Public cloud is single-tenant so there are limitations on what can be customized."
"The implementation time for S/4HANA Cloud could be reduced."
"When users enter data, the screen is not stable at that particular level. If users click in different areas, the screen jumps around, causing frustration during data capture."
"Sales data processing was cumbersome with many mandatory inputs. We normalized this by pulling the data out, manipulating it, and sending it back. We also had unique requirements for controlling product availability, ATP checks, and prioritization for certain customers. These were areas specific to our business model that we handled outside the tool."
"SAP S4HANA Cloud's production planning screens could be improved."
"SAP promotes the cloud, but customers are worried about the security of their data. SAP suggests they have SAP S4HANA with RISE, which is a private cloud environment, but it is difficult to sell many of the customers on the cloud concept because of the privacy issues."
"When it comes to the SAP PM material's module, it would be nice to see the inclusion of predictive analytics."
"Certain add-ons like quality control, payroll, and HRMS are not part of the SAP S/4HANA Cloud."
