Provides effective real-time threat detection with potential for cost optimization
Some features such as device control, firewall management, and file analysis are standalone products that we need to purchase separately. If these features came out of the box within the product, it would be much more beneficial for us. Other providers such as SentinelOne include these features in their base product. We attended a CrowdStrike Falcon event where they discussed some shallow AI features, but we cannot see these in our panel yet. We work with different solutions such as Darktrace and SocRadar, where AI features are automatically displayed in our dashboards after release. However, for CrowdStrike Falcon, we cannot see these features.

Provides useful real-time threat intelligence features but has limited capabilities
We use the product to search for IoCs. It is a good tool, but we do not use all its capabilities. We have only done a POC of the product. The real-time threat intelligence features are useful. The tool has good capabilities. It has a database of IoCs The solution is limited. I have been using…

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Cyberattack detection is very good. We use it for detecting different vulnerabilities, such as ransomware, virus, and malware. It is a good product today when compared to Symantec that we used previously."
"CrowdStrike Falcon's scalability is good. We have thousands of students using this solution."
"I like the dashboard nature of it. Everything is clickable, linkable, and information is easy to obtain and find. How it presents that information is probably the biggest win as far as the information correlation aspect. The presentation of it is very good."
"The most valuable aspects of CrowdStrike Falcon for me are its device observability, identification, and software and OS recognition."
"Among CrowdStrike Falcon's most valuable capabilities are its UEBA and SOAR functionalities, along with its seamless integration with any other SIEM solution."
"The most valuable feature is the activity dashboard because it gives you a holistic view of your environment from a security standpoint."
"At this point what is most valuable is the interface, which is easy to navigate."
"The most valuable feature is that we don't need to re-image machines as much as we had to."
"The real-time threat intelligence features are useful."
"The solution improved our overall security posture."

Cons

"The product could be more accurate in terms of performance."
"I would like to see a little bit more in the offline scanning ability. This just comes from my background in what I have done in other positions. They only scan on demand, so I always have this fear that we sometimes maybe email out a dormant virus and can be held liable for that. That is something where I would like to see a little bit more robustness to the tool."
"Some of Falcon's features are a bit pricey."
"Crowdstrike Falcon XDR can improve the integration. There are some locks on the cloud to on-premise integrations."
"I would rate it an eight out of ten. It does what it needs to do but there's always room for improvement."
"Too many false positives."
"For CrowdStrike to work, all the machines need to have an internet connection. This makes it challenging to assist customers without an internet connection. We would like to have a mechanism or relay to make this possible."
"They respond quickly on the weekdays, but the weekend response times are slower."
"More insights would be helpful. We have multiple solutions for threat intelligence. If someone has a bigger view or full eye on all the incidents, it will be beneficial."
"The solution is limited."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"There are three to four licensing models available to choose from for CrowdStrike Falcon. The price of CrowdStrike Falcon depends on the distributor and the reseller partner. The price we received was good."
"Different components are additional price points. We got the components that were right for us, but other organizations may require more (or less) components to suit their needs."
"The pricing on CrowdStrike is per license. It was about $42 per seat yearly."
"The price is fixed with no room for negotiation."
"This solution has a very competitive price."
"There are approximately a hundred different modules you have to purchase, depending on what you want to do. I have most of the modules. How it works is you buy the portfolio, you have to decide all the components you want in it, and then they price out a bundle for you. I have almost all of the package features in my bundle. You only need to pay for the modules you want."
"The pricing is good and there are no costs in addition to the standard licensing fees."
"The pricing is not bad. It's on the higher end of the market, but you get what you pay for."
