Easy to set up with good behavior-based analysis but needs a single-click recovery option
Most organizations are currently looking for a scheduled scan to meet their compliance needs. Other players like Symantec and Trend Micro, FireEye, et cetera, are still providing the signature-based regular scheduled scans also, which is not available in CrowdStrike. That is one parameter that we feel should be there in CrowdStrike. CrowdStrike is only working on the dynamic or the files under execution. CrowdStrike is not scanning the static files. The product could be more accurate in terms of performance. We'd like to have a single-click recovery option. With some machines getting corrupted by malware, we need an easy way to start with a blank slate if things happen. That one feature should be there in the EDR.

Helps to audit file servers and directories but improvement is needed in UI

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"I have found the connection to search the hosts for detections very useful in CrowdStrike Falcon."
"It has good features for threat detection."
"Regarding features, I appreciate its integration capabilities with identity providers...Stability-wise, I rate the solution a ten out of ten."
"The UI is simple and self-explanatory. Everything is easy to understand."
"The solution's most valuable feature is that it is robust and can detect almost every malicious activity that occurs within the endpoint."
"The anomaly detection is the most valuable feature."
"It has definitely minimized resources. When everything was on-prem, there was a lot more work maintaining it. One of the big value tickets: I don't have lists of hundreds of exceptions for certain applications that I have to maintain, add, delete, and move. The very nature of the product has lessened my workload considerably."
"The managed services are distinguished, responsive, dynamic, flexible, and assertive when taking action."
"The solution has a component that monitors Active Directory through an agent. It also monitors end-user activity. It gives us insight into what's happening on file servers and in our domain or the directory."

Cons

"It can be expensive depending on the features you select."
"The dashboard does not have the facility to export the reports in a PDF format, which I can quickly share with internal stakeholders."
"There is room for improvement in managing multiple customer IDs."
"For CrowdStrike to work, all the machines need to have an internet connection. This makes it challenging to assist customers without an internet connection. We would like to have a mechanism or relay to make this possible."
"I want more ability to customize how you summarize the data. The default views are fine, but it would be interesting to be able to customize them based on the kind of data you want to see immediately. This can help the administrator gain an immediate overview and reduce the investigation time."
"In CrowdStrike, with the variety of security tools available, learning the different query languages can be challenging."
"It is cloud-based, and this does make some weary of the data being held on the cloud. Privacy requirements must be taken into account."
"We'd like to see more integration capabilities."
"The tool needs to improve its UI and reporting. It can also consume the resources of old machines."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"I'm not directly involved in sales, so I can't comment on the exact price, but I know the price decreases the higher the quantity we purchase."
"The price of CrowdStrike Falcon is expensive."
"The price is too high."
"Our company pays approximately US$ 65,000 annually for 900 machines."
"The more endpoints an organization adds the cheaper the cost."
"The pricing is not bad. It's on the higher end of the market, but you get what you pay for."
"The cost is usually a challenge in the industry. I think we pay around sixty-eight dollars."
"It's an expensive solution but you get a very good product for the price. Compared to other products, SentinelOne is definitely cheaper and the Microsoft E5 package is probably more expensive. Not many companies are willing to purchase CrowdStrike Falcon in Turkey due to the cost, but the market is changing."
"StealthINTERCEPT's pricing is reasonable."
