It lets us create models so we can generate real-time predictions and insights for a our clients
Transformation Manager reporting could be better. There are better options for reporting tools these days. We use Microsoft BI sometimes, but Tableau is becoming too expensive. Microsoft BI's visualization features are maturing. I would like it if we could set the solution up to process and respond to real-time events. For example, say I want to configure an app to run based on the mileage a car has driven, and I configure the metering system, so the event occurs every 15 days. Let's say we want to automatically send an alert to EMS, police, etc. if a car gets into an accident. Transformation Manager is more of a conventional tool for reporting, extracting volume, bulk loading, etc. but there should be more provisions for dealing with real-time events, creating some insights, and dealing with perishable data. Ten minutes after the accident, the data doesn't have value. It has value before you saved the person.

Exceptional support and reliability drive optimal data flow and integration
The features of SEEBURGER Business Integration Suite that I found most valuable are related to entity flow. We can find the entity flow to be very useful so we can grab the flow accordingly. There is no disturbance in the connections, and it is very clear to check the connection flow with applicable queues. When comparing to other applications, SEEBURGER Business Integration Suite is the easiest way to understand the application. I have also worked on the cloud services where SEEBURGER Business Integration Suite is moving to cloud. I have worked on cloud services where the mapping part is in the cloud itself, along with the connection setup.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Transformation Manager is the backbone of every data pipeline these days because the solution has been on the market for 20 to 30 years, and we use it for various industries, including financial services, manufacturing, healthcare, etc."
"It is a reliable solution."
"Back in the day, we could only get reports and analyze what happened after the fact, but today now we can generate real-time insights. Transformation Manager feeds your data science projects. We generate models and then give them to the clients, so they can come up with real-time predictions and recommendations in addition to reporting."
"It is among the best, even if not widely known."
"The platform has been very consistent and responsive."
"SEEBURGER is a global company who offers a presence not only in the United States, but is also international across the globe, offering world-class services, a 24/7 support model, and managed services, with about 95 percent of a million files a month SLA, 99.9 percent uptime, and a response time normally under four hours if there is an issue at all."
"We can use it to script and monitor processes."
"The tool's performance doesn't get affected by transformation loads. You can write any number of rules, filtering criteria, transformations, etc."
"It's nice to have that in one system, versus using multiple systems, and it has also increased the level of efficiency in our company's operations by about 30 to 40 percent because everything is on one tool, supporting many people at the same time, worldwide."
"What would have been a manual process of transmitting data items around between us and third-parties has been automated, and the automation, along with the efficiency around time and cost, has improved our organization, with around 20,000 financial and order transaction messages a month now being automated."
"The ease of integration of the SEEBURGER product into SAP was pretty seamless. There wasn't any trouble, there weren't any complexities."
"Ninety per cent of our sales order processing is automated through our SB BIS 6 system."

Cons

"We get decent support. It's okay but not great."
"They should build a functional architecture based on queuing."
"Transformation Manager reporting could be better. There are better options for reporting tools these days. We use Microsoft BI sometimes, but Tableau is becoming too expensive. Microsoft BI's visualization features are maturing."
"There is room for improvement in the solution's visualization tool."
"Difficult in handling large amounts of data, like when the file has more than 100MB in size."
"Frontline support, or first-level support though, gets a rating of 4/10. Most of the time, they seem to be very bad at understanding the critical nature of an issue and they rarely manage to fulfill their own SLAs."
"There are a few capabilities that have come out a little late. TIBCO introduced its container edition way back; SEEBURGER is only in the initial phase of 6.7 and they are a little slow in releasing newer features."
"We don't have much access to the logs or what's happening. So we have to log a ticket with SEEBURGER. We only get a message that something has failed... we have to open a ticket with SEEBURGER for them to tell us exactly what the issue is... I would like us to be able to be more self-sufficient."
"There might be some improvements they could make to the portal, but they're not anything that stops me from working."
"We are a little locked in with understanding the errors that we receive. We are working with their support to prevent these issues when they come into the database. We use a SQL database and believe they can do better when it comes working with large databases. We have had few instances where the system is hanging, which are most likely from the database. We are working with their support to find out the problem and fix their system. We have tried to use their notification system to prevent these issues, but they need to improve their monitoring system."
"That is the component that we definitely have the biggest issue with."
"We occasionally get ZIP files. Sometimes the ZIP file has one file inside of it, and sometimes the ZIP file might have 30 files inside of it. We have been working with SEEBURGER to enhance their PKUNZIP process to be able to unzip multiple files in a single workflow instead of just one file. This is still something that is in process."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It is an expensive solution."
"Pricing, compared to the tool that we had earlier, is cheaper."
"We pay for a maximum number of setups, then we pay per customer map, and we pay maintenance on each one of those. BIS provides the flexibility to pay as you grow. The price of each customer map is €200 and the hourly rate for maintenance is fairly reasonable."
"Our licensing model is based on transactions. We have a base service contract which is priced against a volume of transactions and another volume of individual transactions, which are covered by one service agreement. Then, we have development services on top of that. Our annual spend is around £80,000. It's about mid-priced, as there are some cheaper alternatives out there and some more expensive ones. It's neither cheap nor expensive. It's somewhere in the middle."
"It has a very goofy pricing model in the sense that they have so many components and it's not very clear what components you require to do your work. When you ask for that, you learn that there's a surcharge for them. It's not that you buy a product and you can use all the compatibilities. They have all these different bits and pieces of it and you have to pay extra for all those things."
"We have additional ad hoc development costs, but those vary depending on if we're bringing on another third-party into our systems via the EDI integration. So, that's highly variable."
"They have options for every budget. You can book Cloud Services, starting with a few hundred Euros per year or month, depending on what you want, or you can even buy huge landscapes and operate them on your own. The pricing is fair compared to others."
"The pricing is cheap. In fact, when I saw the pricing, I thought, "Really? What's the catch?" But the functionality that we get out of it, for the price we pay, is great value."
"They need to be more competitively priced. When it comes to training, they need to lower their prices. It shouldn't be so specific. Maybe they should outsource training to another company. From what I can see, their training is pretty expensive, and they don't do anything for free."
