Tool consistently aids in effective threat detection and monitoring but could benefit from improved log source management and resource optimization
One major area for improvement in LogRhythm SIEM is the lack of volume measurement capability in terms of storage. There is currently no way to determine how much data is being consumed in terms of gigabytes, terabytes, or petabytes from particular devices or environments. This information is crucial for planning future storage needs and scalability. The system monitor (collector) agent has issues with resource consumption. Even when not actively collecting data, the agent continues to consume significant CPU and memory resources, which can be particularly problematic for small business environments with limited resources. LogRhythm SIEM could improve by adding more default device support. While they have good default settings for devices such as Palo Alto firewalls, custom log sources often require extensive work. Increasing the number of supported devices with built-in policies and functionality would reduce the need for custom work. Competitive SIEM tools often provide more comprehensive coverage for various devices and vendors.

Technical support is knowledgeable and quick to respond
It is used for compliance Gathering information Scheduling It needs to have better reporting.  More than five years. We have not encountered any issues with stability. We have not encountered any issues with scalability. I would rate the technical support very well as they are…

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"All in all, it's one of the best SIEMs, as a total package, that I've worked with."
"Automations are very valuable. It provides the ability to automate some of our small use cases. The ability to integrate with other products that use an API is also very useful. LogRhythm has a plugin for it that we can connect and start to move down towards the path of a single pane of glass instead of having multiple or different tools."
"LogRhythm's GUI is easy to explore, and we also like other features, such as its integration with other security solutions, log correlation, and the deployment of use cases."
"From a security standpoint, it's the solution to have, in regards to LogRhythm."
"CloudAI has definitely enhanced our security operations; it helps me understand what the users are doing almost instantaneously, it helps me understand what these users are doing in a daily report, and it helps me really feel why our users are doing certain things, why they are authenticating to certain servers."
"The major feature of this solution is its easy configuration which helps different team members to work on it effectively. This kind of feature is not available in other solutions because of a request for specialised schemes for configuration report extraction and searching. Another feature that I really admire is the significant improvement in the compliance in the auditing process by the solution. Our organisation-specific complaints require where the mailbox data needs to be forwarded, stored and searchable for a certain time period. This solution categorises data based on different types, which include cold, warm and hot data. These features allow faster and easier extraction of any data even if the event was occurring several years ago. I also like other features, especially user behaviour analysis and automation. If suddenly someone accesses your side or an unusual traffic is recorded from a user the solution flags it very effectively."
"LogRhythm has increased productivity because all the tools that we need are in the web UI, allowing us to find threats on our network fast and efficiently."
"We went through a competitive comparison of the three leading platforms out there, and it was an easy win, not only from the technology side, but from the company with its support."
"I would rate the technical support very well as they are knowledgeable and quick to respond."
"We have not encountered any issues with stability."

Cons

"We are seeing performance issues with the appliance."
"I would say that the information is out there somewhere, but they don't have the best support site. They just don't."
"NextGen SIEM's integration with other software is good but could be improved."
"We have to use tech support pretty regularly and it is sometimes not very good."
"Better correlation of all events: We seem to get a lot of misinterpreted data coming from multiple sources."
"In the next release, I would certainly like to see more HIPAA compliance. I would also like to see more integration with Palo Alto Networks, particularly their Traps, which is their endpoint solution."
"I would really like to see some type of group or global management for RIM policies,"
"We have had some issues that have taken a long time to resolve, various technical issues that have taken longer to resolve than we desire."
"It needs to have better reporting. "
"It was very complex. There was poor native correlation. "

Pricing and Cost Advice

"LogRhythm's pricing and licensing is extremely competitive and it's one of the top three reasons we continue to invest in the platform."
"We have seen a measurable decrease in the mean time to detect and respond to threats. As it comes out new features and new releases, the window is becoming a lot narrower because you can pivot a lot more with the data. Therefore, the new features and enhancements are reducing that."
"The support which allows more customized to the environment when we are deploying new systems is called Professional Service and is very expensive. The technical annual support and there is an annual fee."
"On a scale of one to ten, I'd rate the pricing of this solution as a seven - not too expensive but not cheap either. Regarding licensing costs, it varies depending on factors like being a partner or an end user, but there are no additional costs aside from standard licensing fees for the basic SIEM solution."
"In comparison to the competition, they are more affordable. This allows us to do more with less."
"The product is inexpensive than other tools."
"NextGen SIEM's pricing is moderate."
"The setup and licensing for small and medium size businesses is straightforward, though when it comes to the enterprise it pays to keep in mind the possibility for complications given all the extras and add-ons that may be required."
"Do a PoC. Make it detailed so it can help later."
