Offers customized features that allow us to see whether students visited the platform and watched the provided videos
An improvement would be to have it support physically challenged students, who we think should be able to participate in some of our courses. If the learning management system could support blind students or students with learning disabilities, it would expand the reach of education by providing tools that support challenged learners. In future releases, I'd like to see more features that support challenged students, as I just mentioned above. This is because of the university's goal to make education accessible to all groups without discrimination. If we can have more tools that support students who are challenged, that would be very good. If AI could help, that would be nice. We want to support learners who are remote and provide learning to disadvantaged learners or certain groups of people. AI would come in very handy if Moodle had such capabilities.

Good automation and dashboards with helpful customer support
TalentLMS is packed with instrumental features that are pertinent to a successful Learning Management System. Of these, the most impactful features are: 1. Automation. Notifications can to automated to notify users of assigned courses, remind users of outstanding courses, and email PDF certificates upon successful completion. 2. Rewards and Recognition. This feature makes it fun, competitive, and engaging via a point system and recognition of top learners. 3. Customer Support. The customer support team was amazing when I first began using this solution. They scheduled video meetings with me to personally demonstrate alternative solutions to issues I was having with data management. 4. Dashboard. Data is readily available in the form of interactive dashboards with modern, crisp data visuals. This shows the performance of the LMS, highlighting areas that can be improved and recognizing strong points in the business operations.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The most valuable feature is the community. Moodle is a completely open source application and provides a lot of development knowledge. The other features we find valuable are the LTI tools, integrations and BigBlueButton."
"Cost-effective and intuitive."
"Moodle has a vast array of features which are really useful for the work our company does. Moodle hosts the courses through online systems and also offers quizzes and badges which our customers frequently use."
"It doesn't take long to learn how to use it and to set up basic courses and things like that."
"The valuable features of Moodle include its open-source nature, which makes it free to use, and the supportive community that assists with any issues."
"The monitoring aspect is important for students."
"Moodle integrates with many third party plugins, which has enabled us to make use of the latest technology. During the Covid 19 period, we used a plugin called BigBlueButton to facilitate online learning which was quick and easy to do."
"A really nice thing about Moodle is that it is very robust and flexible, and one of the big advantages of Moodle is that it is open source. It also has a lot of free documentation."
"It is one of the least expensive learning management systems I've ever worked with."
"The setup for TalentLMS is easier than Cypher LMS."
"Notifications can to automated to notify users of assigned courses, remind users of outstanding courses, and email PDF certificates upon successful completion."

Cons

"Sometimes, discrepancies arise when the information is not updated or lacks precision, potentially leading to the model producing misleading or incorrect outputs based on its training."
"The multi-tenancy system within Moodle could be improved. IOMAD is what makes the multi-tenancy possible but this comes with many issues."
"Moodle's weakest point is the user interface."
"For a first time user, especially someone who is non-technical, Moodle is difficult for them to understand and they often need assistance."
"Moodle is missing a subscription-based system where learners can subscribe to available courses and make the payment for those courses."
"The solution should have more student-centric details in the modules."
"The solution could be improved if support was an integral part of the whole solution. There are a few challenges in terms of performance due to Moodle being a free-to-use platform but these can be overcome with the use of their support team."
"The UI and interface of Moodle could be greatly improved. There has been some improvement in recent releases by Moodle but there is still a lot to be improved upon. It is challenging to get buy-in from different stakeholders when they see what it looks like."
"Regarding improvement areas, when I upload animated training packs in Microsoft PowerPoint format, the animation and transitions are lost. This makes it static."
"The built-in builder has some rather serious limitations."
"The problem with TalentLMS is that it has some bugs. If you need to upload an image, then it will cause trouble. It is not actually stable."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"This particular organization is a relatively small academic institution. It is a single campus, not very big, with 4,500 to 5,000 total students. It is not a big faculty. There are no hard sciences other than undergraduate-level hard sciences. So, Moodle is functional, and it is relatively simple because it is open-source software. It has sub advantages, and it is inexpensive. Small schools with small enrollment numbers just can't afford the more expensive ones."
"It is a one-time registration with the Moodle site. There isn't a yearly or monthly fee."
"Moodle offer a 14 day free trial and then requires payment."
"In terms of cost, it is available at no charge."
"It varies depending on the partner you're going with. It depends on whether they are a certified partner or not. It also varies depending on the demand. Usually, with Moodle and other LMSs, there is concurrent licensing. It's hard to figure out the best way to do it at the company that is selling the LMS. Moodle is usually one of the most cost-effective LMSs you can get."
"This solution offers a free-to-use version which can be deployed only on-premises and is what we are using. Moodle also offer support based and cloud based subscriptions. Organizations can select the appropriate package based on their needs. Moodle offer reasonable pricing for the use of their solution."
"Moodle is a free open-sourced solution. This is one of the best aspects of Moodle."
"Moodle have a very robust licensing system that is user friendly. It's not very expensive."
"You can't beat this solution for the price."
