Manages extensive utility billing applications efficiently with trusted performance and robust support
Currently, I have a very good experience with Oracle Multitenant. The pluggable database is easy to handle and manage, sharing resources efficiently. However, Oracle license pricing is an issue due to its high cost. Our organization is compelled to reduce CPU usage by seventy CPUs because the Oracle license cost depends on it.

Users appreciate the mix of in-memory architecture and ease of backend management
The most valuable SAP HANA features are that, compared to Oracle, there is less administrative work and less complex work to handle, making it very straightforward. The tool itself takes care of the backend work. The main benefits SAP HANA provides to users include its architecture, which combines both column store and row store capabilities. Some places find the row feature important, whereas others find column store important. It allows some tables to be stored in a column base, others in a row base, and the In-Memory functionalities are mostly the highlight of SAP HANA, especially compared to disk-based memory users. This was the main reason SAP HANA was introduced initially.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The database becomes pluggable. Inside this container is called a pluggable database and each application contains this pluggable database inside Multitenant. We can then share resources like control files, memory, etc. This lets you stop and start each application without impacting the others. This resource sharing is the most valuable feature"
"It's easy to use and works great."
"I would rate the scalability a ten out of ten. Our clients are mostly medium and enterprise businesses."
"You can scale the solution as needed."
"Maintaining databases is a valuable feature for us."
"Our primary use of Oracle includes writing queries for retrieving data for customers without worrying about the customer ID, user ID, as it is automatically connected to each query."
"The stability of Oracle Multitenant is excellent, and I would rate it a nine out of ten."
"Multitenant has a container database with many pluggable databases."
"The in-memory database is excellent."
"It is very stable and very innovative. You can integrate many applications with it."
"I like the integration process. Also, the data is trusted by our management, and we use the data from transactions for analysis."
"We like that the product is both vertically and horizontally scalable, allowing us to do around 86 percent compression of documentation from 50 to seven terabytes."
"SAP HANA's most valuable features are monitoring, reporting, and price and stock control."
"It's user-friendly so long as you use it frequently."
"The main feature is that the processes are very flexible, they are able to be adapted to the business and their departments."
"This is a feature-rich product and I like all of them."

Cons

"While the product is overall excellent, it is quite expensive."
"Oracle license pricing is an issue due to its high cost. Our organization is compelled to reduce CPU usage by seventy CPUs because the Oracle license cost depends on it."
"It would be beneficial to include this solution with Oracle Enterprise, but Oracle charges additional fees for it."
"It can be complicated to scale up the solution, but it's scalable."
"The user interface for this solution can be made better."
"From the scope of improvement, I would say that people are adopting new query options. Certain databases like MongoDB adopt new query options so that they can just pull the data."
"Technical support could be faster."
"There are many functions where changes are not easy to implement, and we try to avoid modifying these areas due to security issues and the complexity of maintaining them."
"The relationship with a partner that sells SAP could be better. We depend much more on our own development, and the partner is for selling us the solutions, so we need them to be able to supply help and answers. The partner isn't very helpful, and we have to rely on our own knowledge and research."
"A documents preview could be helpful."
"Technical support could be better."
"The deployment of SAP HANA is far too complicated and takes far too long. The typical implementation time is between six months and two years."
"The bid process needs to be improved."
"I would have rated the solution higher if this version was not missing some key features the newer version has."
"There could be better management for faster updates, last year there were some changes in India to the e-invoicing feature."
"The solution's development platform should be more flexible and scalable to adapt to other solutions."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"This solution is a little bit pricey."
"The price is worth the quality."
"For me, I will go with it if I have the budget. Some features are nicer than before, but at the end of the day, you always have a limited budget. I prefer to upgrade and get a specific hardware when possible. At the end, you will have to make a compromise. You will not get everything you would have liked to have."
"People who are technical will accept the cost, but financially they will assess whether this solution will bring them revenue or not. People often ask, how will I profit when the cost is so high?"
"The pricing for SAP HANA is high. You pay a lot for the license, and you also have to pay for some add-ons."
"The tool is expensive compared to other products, like Oracle R or Microsoft, but it offers a range of all the company's functions."
"The price is on the expensive side, at eight out of ten, with ten being expensive."
"SAP HANA is very expensive here in China. My company bought the SAP ERP suite, which includes SAP HANA. For others who use SAP HANA as an analytical database, CPU numbers will affect the pricing, so as a solution, it's costly."
"SAP HANA is very expensive for small to medium businesses."
"SAP HANA is an expensive product."
"The price is high and could be a bit cheaper."
