Has successfully supported tenant data separation and enabled strong analytics capabilities
We use VPD, Virtual Private Database, for the multitenancy. We are selling products and using Oracle Multitenant for tenants, for building the product for our customers. We have many customers, actually thousands, and the main objective is to separate data from one customer to another The…

Performs well with high database and reporting performance
We face difficulties replicating the AC DOCA table, which is a huge table, from S/4HANA to SAP HANA BAS, Business Application Studio, or HANA Studio using SLT. For developing Power BI reports using the AC DOCA table, we are replicating full data daily. We want to implement delta load, and while we used OData service for one client, the delta OData service link is not properly updating delta records. Licensing costs with SAP HANA are very high. Due to high pricing, many clients are moving from BW on SAP HANA and S/4HANA to Azure SQL. I have worked with several clients who have moved all data flows to Azure and developed Power BI queries on top of Azure. Many clients are also using Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The certification costs are also very high, more than ₹1,40,000 INR. Previously, it was ₹30,000 to ₹40,000. I want to pursue three certifications but am unable to do so due to the cost.

Pros

"The stability of Oracle Multitenant is excellent, and I would rate it a nine out of ten."
"The most valuable features are the speed and ease of use."
"The best thing about Oracle Multitenant is its ability to consolidate multiple databases into one engine."
"It's easy to use and works great."
"In the past it would take about five hours for us, on a weekly basis, to clone one database or one environment, and now it takes less than two hours, saving a lot of time over the weekends."
"The most valuable features are the speed and ease of use."
"There are only benefits to using this solution."
"The analytics tool, Oracle Analytics Server (OAS), is the main important component of this solution and in the analytics part, the VPD handles all the necessary functions effectively."
"If you want to scale with new processes and new reports, that's fairly easy."
"This solution did improve my organization, as we had some changes to better our organization, especially in the procurement process."
"What I like most are the dashboards and pervasive analytics."
"The benefits include high database loading performance, superior reporting performance, and ease of use."
"The feature I found most valuable in SAP HANA is modeling. I also like that the solution has good integration and you can integrate it with any system, even third-party systems."
"The most value for us was in terms of using it to issue tenders online. We host our server, but it is open to the public, so clients who want to buy those tenders were able to go online, put their tender documents up, and we could evaluate them using SAP."
"The solution is currently very stable."
"SAP is great for what it does."

Cons

"Oracle is too complex. Anyone that has experience with Oracle knows that their product design or idea may be very good, but when you go to work it will take you hours because it is very complex."
"The solution lacks a GUI for commands."
"The user interface for this solution can be made better."
"It needs to have some more granular control over IO resource allocation."
"Oracle Support is relatively unprepared for this. It has improved, but it still has a lot of room for improvement."
"This solution is a bit complicated when collecting from containers - that feature should be a bit better."
"Even though we say Unplug Plug Upgrade is a very good feature and it does work, we are seeing that sometimes it takes longer than what we expect for larger databases."
"It would be beneficial to include this solution with Oracle Enterprise, but Oracle charges additional fees for it."
"Technical support has been more helpful than before but still need improvement."
"The JDBC connectors are very slow."
"A documents preview could be helpful."
"More standards would help in the future."
"The JDBC connectors are very slow."
"I think that the pricing is high and it needs improvement."
"There could be better management for faster updates, last year there were some changes in India to the e-invoicing feature."
"The deployment of SAP HANA is far too complicated and takes far too long. The typical implementation time is between six months and two years."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The price is worth the quality."
"For me, I will go with it if I have the budget. Some features are nicer than before, but at the end of the day, you always have a limited budget. I prefer to upgrade and get a specific hardware when possible. At the end, you will have to make a compromise. You will not get everything you would have liked to have."
"This solution is a little bit pricey."
"The tool is expensive compared to other products, like Oracle R or Microsoft, but it offers a range of all the company's functions."
"The tool has a high price. I rate the solution’s pricing, one on a scale of ten, where one is expensive and ten is cheap."
"It is expensive, which isn't a problem for us because SAP HANA is processing the data so fast."
"Price-wise, the product falls on the higher side of the spectrum. There is no need to pay for maintenance and support additionally. Support is available for bug fixes in the product."
"SAP HANA is very expensive here in China. My company bought the SAP ERP suite, which includes SAP HANA. For others who use SAP HANA as an analytical database, CPU numbers will affect the pricing, so as a solution, it's costly."
"SAP HANA is an expensive product."
"It comes with a significant cost."
"The price of this product is good."
