Consolidated cloud security has reduced manual work and has automated vulnerability remediation
I elaborate on my rating of SentinelOne support by mentioning that there was some time where the troubleshooting took a longer time. In fact, there were many meetings going on. The availability of the document on the internet is on a lesser side because as an engineer, I would want to know about the troubleshooting aspects of this particular tool. When I am facing a customer, I do not prefer to bring the vendor to every call and try to resolve it, as it takes months and months. It would be better to have a training session with the engineer on site to explain and train properly. This is not the case with SentinelOne, so this is the only thing I have a complaint about. I do not have any other room for improvement to suggest within SentinelOne itself. However, I would really want the AI assistant for the threat hunting part to be more accessible. They have it, but they are making it licensed, so it is a bit on the higher end.

Agentless cloud security has improved attack path visibility but still needs stronger real-time blocking
Yes, as per my experience, it has been very helpful. In our organization, we did not find any major or priority one kind of alerts or risks because we had a very good infrastructure structure and cybersecurity architecture built in our organization. Orca Security helped us find what vulnerabilities or gaps existed which we could improve within our architecture. It helped us in such a way that we used to close the open ports and only allowed internal IPs for necessity. For staging environments and for prod we had DOS protection. If network traffic showed that anybody was trying to flood our systems, we would only accept all and our client-related IPs or an approved list of vendor lists we would have. We would get to know where the gaps are and where the improvements we could make. Being an analyst class engineer, I could use my brain in those areas and it was very helpful to have Orca Security in my arsenal.

Helps with risk assessments for containers, assessing security, and ensuring container compliance
I rate the overall product a nine out of ten. Customers can conveniently view all companies in a single dashboard if they have different companies. This feature eliminates the need for different solutions and separate installations. Moreover, the solution extends beyond servers, encompassing various platforms such as VMware and Kubernetes. Additionally, end-users can install the solution from their client's perspective.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"I would rate SentinelOne Singularity Cloud Security a ten out of ten."
"We noted immediate benefits from using the solution."
"SentinelOne Singularity Cloud Security offers valuable scalability suitable for organizations of all sizes, from small businesses to large enterprises."
"Overall, I would rate SentinelOne Singularity Cloud Security a ten out of ten."
"The features that stand out are threat detection using advanced artificial intelligence and machine learning, helping to identify and respond to threats in real-time."
"Singularity Cloud's ability to create custom correlation searches and reduce noise is highly valuable."
"The single-touch, agentless deployment is number one."
"SentinelOne Singularity Cloud Security is on top of protecting ephemeral workloads."
"Another valuable feature with Orca, something that's not talked about enough, is its ability to rank your gaps and your tasks... You can get visibility with agents and there are a lot of ways to do that. But the ranking and the context across the entire environment, that is what is unique about Orca."
"Orca Security saves resources because it provides the actual output on the screen with the package path."
"Orca Security has patented technologies. It's an agentless solution, so you don't need to install an agent. Instead, it contacts your account provider and fetches metadata, eliminating the need for snapshots or reserved space to copy client infrastructure."
"There are so many valuable features that I could list, but one that I appreciate is the PCI DSS compliance report."
"The reporting and automated remediation capabilities are valuable to me. They're real game-changers."
"Before starting with Orca, I was blind; think about someone who was blind and now they can see, it's a new world."
"If I consider the analogy of the house, I expected to be able to see under the floor, what I did not expect was to be able to see behind all of the walls and through the ceiling and through the roof and into the basement, and everywhere."
"The most valuable feature of Orca Security is the automated scanning tool, user-friendliness, and ease of use."
"Runecast is a good partner for VMware. Once we have installed it, we can see all the problems and issues. It also has VMware knowledge-based articles."

Cons

"Currently, we would have to export our vulnerability report to an .xlsx file, and review it in an Excel spreadsheet, and then we sort of compile a list from there. It would be cool if there was a way to actually toggle multiple applications for review and then see those file paths on multiple users rather than only one user at a time or only one application at a time."
"The cost has the potential for improvement."
"In the Analytics section, there is a tab for showing the severity of open issues by day. There are three options: by week, by month, and for more than thirty days. However, despite being aware of many issues open for more than thirty days, it shows no data available."
"Once all components, including the cloud piece and container runtime piece, integrate further and incorporate an AI layer for better comprehension, it will greatly enhance the utility of Singularity Cloud Security."
"We recently adopted a new ticket management solution, so we've asked them to include a connector to integrate that tool with Cloud Native Security directly. We'd also like to see Cloud Native Security add a scan for personally identifying information. We're looking at other tools for this capability, but having that functionality built into Cloud Native Security would be nice. Monitoring PII data is critical to us as an organization."
"It sometimes produces a high number of false positive alerts."
"The areas with room for improvement include the cost, which is higher compared to other security platforms. The dashboard can also be laggy."
"I would prefer to see SentinelOne Singularity Cloud Security develop into a single pane of glass for ASPM and CSPM."
"I experienced some problems with custom tags in Orca Security where I tried to separate the environment for business units so I could ask the tech lead responsible for that vulnerability to fix them."
"I would like to see an option to do security checks on a code level. This is possible because they have access to all of the code running in the cloud provider, and combining their site-scanning solution with that would be a nice add-on."
"Orca needs improvement in snoozing or dismissing specific alarms. Currently, snoozing dismisses all future vulnerabilities related to a CVE."
"The interface can be a bit cranky and sometimes takes a lot of time to load."
"I would be happy if they offered more automatic remediation options. They're working on that, but the more the better. For example, if they want you to harden a server, they would offer a hardening script that would be more aware of what's going on."
"The automatic scan only runs every 24 hours, and if an alert is remediated within an hour, it still remains until the next scheduled scan."
"The presentation of the data in the dashboard is a little bit chaotic."
"We are PCI DSS compliant, so we need to scan our environment externally with tools vetted by the PCI DSS organization; Orca doesn't scan the environment externally and only scans what's currently in the cloud."
"The product lacks network assessment capabilities. We cannot view our network assets or scan switches, routers, or IPs for vulnerabilities and issues."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The pricing tends to be high."
"As a partner, we receive a discount on the licenses."
"The pricing for PingSafe in India was more reasonable than other competitors."
"I understand that SentinelOne is a market leader, but the bill we received was astronomical."
"It was reasonable pricing for me."
"SentinelOne offers excellent pricing and licensing options."
"For pricing, it currently seems to be in line with market rates."
"It's not expensive. The product is in its initial growth stages and appears more competitive compared to others. It comes in different variants, and I believe the enterprise version costs around $55 per user per year. I would rate it a five, somewhere fairly moderate."
"It is the cost of the visibility that you get. When you really sit down and think about what do you need to do to secure an environment with a low impact on the business, and you take a look out into the world, I think this tool is well justified around cost."
"The pricing depends on how many assets you have running in your cloud and how many environments you have. If you have a dev environment, test environment, and a production environment then it's really important that you have coverage for all of them."
"Orca is very competitive when compared to the alternatives and is not the most expensive in the market, that's for sure."
"The price is a bit expensive for smaller organizations."
"Orca Security charges are based on cloud workloads. So, it's based on workloads. If we look at one feature, it might be expensive."
"The most expensive solution is Palo Alto. They claim to be very robust. The next most expensive is Wiz, followed by Orca and all the rest."
"We have a total of 25 licenses for this solution. The solution is on a pay-and-you-use model."
"Overall, the pricing is reasonable and the discounts have been acceptable."
"Runecast's pricing is cheaper than that of its competitors."
