Centralized management and automatic connections simplify infrastructure upgrades for prolonged usage
Sophos provides ease of use, functionality, security, efficiency, and competitive pricing. It offers centralized management and RED devices that are easy to configure and set up. Additionally, Sophos provides custom restrictions for secure internet usage and visualization features for malware detection. This contributes to the backbone of communication between the central office and the satellite offices, making it a reliable choice for infrastructure upgrades.

Virtual patching has protected critical workloads and reduced downtime across financial environments
The best features Trend Micro Deep Security offers include virtual patching and comprehensive protection from multiple modules such as anti-malware, web reputation, firewall, integrity monitoring, and log inspection. It is very user-friendly, easy to understand, and helps us integrate multiple products with Deep Security. The user-friendly aspect and integration of Trend Micro Deep Security have helped my team significantly. For example, we can integrate our SIEM product, Active Directory, and multiple platforms. If an operations engineer cannot find something or forgets about a suspicious activity, we can identify the suspicious thing with the help of the SIEM. With Active Directory, we maintain our compliance, checking which server has Deep Security and which does not. By integrating these solutions, we effectively maintain compliance in our environment. Trend Micro Deep Security has positively impacted our organization because we have implemented it for multiple purposes, primarily for server security. It is installed on both multiple virtual and physical servers with minimal performance impact. It has been extremely stable throughout our usage, with no major disturbances.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"When it comes to their firewall, it notified me about a possible infection."
"I highly recommend Sophos Virtualization Security. I rate the overall solution ten out of ten for its excellent features and support."
"The SVM deployment has very good performance."
"Using this solution allows us to set up rule-based access control."
"Overall, I rate Sophos Virtualization Security a nine out of ten due to its ease of use, security, and customer support."
"I like Sophos Virtualization Security's built-in antivirus and malware protection. The firewalls are pretty stable. It's just a matter of updating the virus signatures, and they're pretty good about providing those updates regularly."
"The most valuable features of the solution are VM security, VLP, and threat protection."
"It integrates well with the cloud; for example, AWS, and Google Cloud Provider."
"In terms of valuable features, I would say its intrusion prevention. Each and every IP connecting to the server gets scanned so we know everyone who is accessing our server and we can block whichever IP's do not belong to us at the firewall."
"Easy to scale, stable solution for workload and server security and protection. It's easy to set up and has a good ransomware protection feature."
"The most valuable feature is the virtual patching."
"You can scale the solution to different versions."
"It provides the type of data and availability that we need to have. We don't have to worry about intrusions."
"The file integrity and log inspection are game-changing features for us."
"In today's market for server security, I have never seen any other OEM's product which is close to it."

Cons

"The process of registering licenses for remote devices could be optimized as there have been instances where devices entered an unknown state."
"We are unable to reliably specify bandwidth limits for particular clients, which is something that needs to be improved."
"The solution would be improved if all of the advanced features were included in the SVM."
"I wish Sophos could offer the solution at a lower price, but I doubt they will."
"Sophos Virtualization Security requires more usage. For example, if you have a virtual service line of 100 nodes, you are unable to deploy them from the console to a particular environment."
"I would like to see some new features for improving the security part of the solution."
"The solution should focus on the EDR part and probably have an integrated data leak prevention module."
"The risk is very complex. We need our tools to be more intelligent, more automated, more detectable."
"Deep Security's reporting functionality could be improved."
"The solution could use more integration."
"The default reports provided don't provide much insight."
"Sometimes, the product is not very stable, but it is something that depends on the infrastructure in which the tool is used."
"As for what could be improved, I think it should come with an XDR facility without any extra cost. They're always releasing new features, but we need to pay extra for them."
"AWS products could become more compatible with intrusion detection products leveraging help from Trend Micro."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"For virtualization security, the cost is approximately $50 USD per seat."
"Depending on the subscription, the price ranges from $700 to $1,000. There's a subscription for the antivirus and malware and another that includes web and email. So you might need that extended subscription if you were housing an email firewall. Otherwise, you pay a flat rate for the firewall. It's not based on the number of users."
"It is a very expensive solution. It would be nice if they lower its price. Its license is based on the machines."
"If you need an additional 10 or 20 licenses, you will need to pay additional fees."
"There is a license for this solution and there are extra features you can purchase."
"If you want to scale the solution you will have to adjust the license."
"Trend Micro Deep Security is average compared to other products on the market; it's neither particularly expensive nor cheap."
"The solution is offered at an average price point"
"Most of it is annual at this stage."
"From a pricing perspective, I would say the product is economical...The payments are made on a yearly basis towards the licensing of the solution."
