My main use case for Contentful is to create the content for a website for a bigger company as mine, and I'm also a backend developer and design the Contentful model and the content that uses it. A quick specific example of how I used Contentful for my website is the e-commerce website for a bigger company in Germany.

Content modeling has supported complex websites but has highlighted costly gaps in publishing workflow
Pros and Cons
- "Contentful is stable."
- "There was no return on investment. It was very expensive to implement all the needed specialties a company needs for its public publish strategy, to publish the content in different countries, different markets, and different languages."
What is our primary use case?
What is most valuable?
In my experience, the best feature Contentful offers is the application plugin mechanism. The add applications I can add to Contentful to customize the application is highly beneficial.
What I appreciate most about the application plugin mechanism is everything around the deployment and the chosen front-end framework for my project was great, and React also. There are some limitations, which is in the nature of how the plugin mechanism was designed. The iframe technique was the blocker to implement SSO for connecting to other services. However, there are other techniques you can use.
Besides the application framework, something that stands out about the features is that the publishing mechanism can be improved further. With the start of 2025, the local-based publish was introduced by Contentful. That is a great feature, but it had some limitations. Backend implementation for validation, the bulk validation was no longer supported for this feature. This is a big bug. Contentful never lined out the timeline when it can be fixed, and I have two bugs open on Contentful now. That is not favorable for me.
What needs improvement?
Contentful can be improved to have a full-featured free account, perhaps with fewer content types. However, with all features, a free developer could test everything without having a company that subscribed to an enterprise account, which would be great.
The rate limit on the management API is a big deal for most developers and is something that would make Contentful better. The inability to search for JSON objects, meaning content types that contain fields with JSON objects and looking for some field values in the JSON, is not supported. It would be nice to have something like this.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using Contentful since 2018, for eight years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?
Contentful is stable. It is really stable.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
Contentful's scalability is fine. Sometimes it was going slower, but most of the time there was a fix available by Contentful. The stability and scalability were good.
How are customer service and support?
The customer support reacts relatively fast if you have the right subscription. I would rate the customer support a nine on a scale of one to ten.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I previously used a different solution from IBM. I do not remember the name. It was a well-known system from IBM. On one hand, and on the other hand was Drupal. Both were on-premise, and the company looked for a SaaS solution. Contentful made sense a few years ago, and we developed for a few years with Contentful.
How was the initial setup?
I cannot tell you much about the pricing, setup cost, and licensing. It was in the field from another colleague. I think it was easy, and I cannot tell you anything about that.
What about the implementation team?
I had a team of five developers dealing with Contentful, but we are facing some bugs, and the support was not as good.
What was our ROI?
There was no return on investment. It was very expensive to implement all the needed specialties a company needs for its public publish strategy, to publish the content in different countries, different markets, and different languages. This was a concept that Contentful does not support out of the box, and we had to deal with a complicated content model. It was very expensive to implement, but we had chosen Contentful, and so we had to deal with it.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
I evaluated other options before choosing Contentful. I do not remember the names we evaluated. It was in late 2018, and I cannot recall which specific alternatives were considered.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Dynamic content has transformed how we manage store-based promotions across kiosks and mobile apps
Pros and Cons
- "Contentful has positively impacted my organization as it upscales the revenue and enhances my mobile and kiosk application appearance and feel with dynamic content."
What is our primary use case?
My main use case for Contentful in that recent project is image content management, including image content and descriptions that we are not getting from our server. Examples include launch screens, dynamic banners, and product images. Some product images we are getting from Contentful.
I will give you an example of how I used Contentful for managing those images and banners in my project. I am working on a kiosk and mobile application. For the kiosk use case, we have a launch screen where we are showing a few banners, and the banner is totally based on the store. For instance, there is a store X where I need to play a promotional banner for a tendy at 4.9 dollars, and there is a store Y where I want to promote a tendy with 3.9 dollars. In that scenario, I use it in the kiosk. For the mobile application, I use it extensively. We integrated a loyalty platform, and for all the loyalty information, we are fetching from Contentful. We are configuring the loyalty data from Contentful and retrieving it. Also, for some product images, we are using Contentful.
These are the major use cases which I am using.
What is most valuable?
The best features Contentful offers in my experience are the management of the content. I can configure my content based on the store, time zone, and time frame. I can configure my data on a specific store and a default store. I can have the last updated data. This makes it too easy for me to manage my dynamic content.
When I talk about configuring content by store and time frame, that flexibility helps my team and my workflow. For example, I want to play a promotion in my kiosk only from 10 AM to 7 PM. After that, I want to play a different promotion. I would just configure it with the help of Contentful. I will use the time slot or time frame where I will show a promotional banner, X banner, from 10 to 7. After 10 to 7, I will show the default banner.
Contentful has positively impacted my organization as it upscales the revenue and enhances my mobile and kiosk application appearance and feel with dynamic content. We have integrated it for the loyalty as well. So it helps us to retain our customers with the dynamic content of the loyalty and dynamic promotion from the loyalty, which we are configuring into Contentful. Also, for promotion purposes, we are using Contentful, so it is totally worth it.
What needs improvement?
As far as I use Contentful, it is totally fine. There is no improvement for now. As I am using it for only six to eight months, I am not the correct person to judge or prejudge Contentful. I want to explore more as I am an active user of Contentful.
For how long have I used the solution?
I am using Contentful for the last seven to eight months in one of my recent projects.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
Contentful is stable in my experience, and I find it totally stable.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
In terms of the scalability part of Contentful, it is totally fine, and I have not faced any challenges in my past experience.
How are customer service and support?
My experience with customer support is that I have not reached out to them. It has been working fine, so I have not needed it yet.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
In the initial stage of the product I am working on, we chose Contentful, so we have not explored anything else.
Before choosing Contentful, we did not evaluate other options, as we have not explored any other tool.
How was the initial setup?
I have seen a return on investment, and I can share relevant metrics in terms of money saved and time saved. It saved money and resource time. If I were implementing dynamic content management in-house, it would take a lot of effort to implement and then integrate. Contentful is a platform where I can just get the license and start working on that. So it is quite easy, and with its help, we are able to get the data from Contentful. Obviously, if we are using Contentful, we just need to configure our data with no worry about how Contentful manages our dynamic data.
What about the implementation team?
I am not the right person to answer this question as we have our separate team who finalizes it. There is a finance team who takes all the decisions regarding costing and everything. I am on the tech side, so I can help with the technical part.

What other advice do I have?
All the features I use, I have explained to you, and I am pretty much in love with Contentful. I would rate Contentful a nine out of ten. I am in the exploring phase, that is why I am deducting one point.
I choose a nine for Contentful because of its performance, and it is bug-free and easy to implement. Contentful is easy to integrate. With the help of GraphQL, we can easily handle my Contentful data. That is why I gave a nine.
My advice to others looking into using Contentful is that if you have a use case where you need to dynamically manage the content, then you should definitely go with Contentful. Contentful has a very stable product and is bug-free. First of all, it is bug-free and easy to configure. Anyone from the team can easily configure our Contentful. I am giving this review a rating of nine out of ten.

Content workflows have become faster and teams create branded landing pages independently
Pros and Cons
- "We have definitely seen a return on investment with Contentful, as we have saved hundreds of thousands of dollars in licensing fees and additional vendor fees and have also saved approximately months of time being able to spin up landing pages and content while maintaining a small team without relying on external agency or department support."
What is our primary use case?
My main use case for Contentful is as a Web CMS. I have used Contentful in my last two roles to create new landing pages and additional content across our various different language sets of our website. I used it at Trade Beyond in my current role and previously at my last role at Brightcove. The challenge that it solved was being able to spin up pages and content quickly and easily so that I could help activate my team to take control of their regions.
What is most valuable?
The best features Contentful offers for my use case around CMS are the ability to spin up web pages and having widgets to design them to fit the branding and layout currently used on the websites that we have managed using Contentful.
The widgets help with branding and layout by allowing you to structure pages in the same ways or mimic the look and feel of existing pages with new standalone landing pages that we created. My favorite widgets are the top tiles and being able to include imagery and design.
Contentful has positively impacted my organization by helping us simplify our workflow, become more productive and efficient, and ensuring that we are able to stay on brand and maintain consistency with the content that we push out on our website and online.
Contentful improved productivity and efficiency by saving us time. We used to have to spend approximately three times the time to create landing pages using our previous solution, and it was much more complex. This has definitely saved us time and reduced external support that we need, and it has also required less support from other team members within our organization. Those outcomes have directly improved our productivity and efficiency.
What needs improvement?
I think Contentful could be improved if it could include built-in localization, meaning translation of language, and allow for creative editing of visual and imagery.
There are some other areas that could be improved collaboratively to make it more seamless with handoff between different team members, but I think that would cross over into being more of a project management tool rather than a content management system.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using Contentful for around four years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
Contentful is very stable.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
Contentful's scalability has been really seamless and we have been able to roll it out across other areas and departments and regions.
How are customer service and support?
We have not had to rely on much support from Contentful's customer support, but on the rare occasions we have, they have been very timely and extremely helpful and we have been able to solve our issues within 48 hours on every occasion. I would give the customer support a rating of nine.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I previously used WordPress in quite a few other roles, and the reason I switched was for the same reasons I have given as being benefits of Contentful.
How was the initial setup?
My experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing was pretty smooth and seamless. At Brightcove, Contentful was already in place when I joined, so I had more of a renewal involvement. The pricing setup and licensing was all very smooth. At Trade Beyond, I helped us transition from our previous vendor to Contentful, and the whole process was very seamless and easy to navigate.
What was our ROI?
We have definitely seen a return on investment with Contentful. We have saved hundreds of thousands of dollars in licensing fees and additional vendor fees. We have also saved approximately months of time being able to spin up landing pages and content using Contentful. We have definitely been able to maintain a small team and not have to rely on external agency support and external department support, though it is a bit hard to measure.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
My experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing was pretty smooth and seamless.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
Before choosing Contentful, I evaluated other options such as WordPress, Contently, and Contentful.
What other advice do I have?
My advice to others looking into using Contentful would be to make sure you are clear on what you are looking to achieve and how you think a CMS provider will be able to solve your challenges. Once you do that, if you have similar challenges to myself and my company, I would suggest Contentful and recommend them highly. I am very happy and content with the platform. I would rate this review an eight.

Content management has transformed our web pages and now supports fast migrations and updates
Pros and Cons
- "Website management has become very easy, and content updates to websites are straightforward."
- "I wish Contentful would provide a better feature for publishing all content entries at once."
What is our primary use case?
I am Niketan Naidu, working at LTIM, and I am using Contentful for our content management system and website. I have been using Contentful for three years, and it has been excellent work. We use Contentful primarily for our website content management system, with the full website built upon the content management system powered by Contentful.
We manage all pages from A to Z. We have built a page template, and for each page we create, we generate dynamic routes in the Next.js application, retrieving data from Contentful and building all the pages. It is not limited to just a product page or landing page; it encompasses all pages of the website.
We are also using Contentful SDK for space-to-space migration as provided by Contentful's powerful CLI tools. We use this for migrating assets or entries from one space to another space easily. This is a significant advantage.
What is most valuable?
Contentful's GraphQL marketplace application is excellent and useful. We can query immediately and see the results of the collections we create. Contentful also has localization features. However, I believe the only limitation is with localization; locale-specific rules and permissions are not at the extent or level we need, so we cannot provide permissions at the locale level. This is the problem.
Here is the scenario: we have multiple DDA groups that work on Contentful updates. We want a specific DDA group to work on specific Contentful content only, which can see, read, write, and delete on that specific locale only. We do not want other locale content of that space to be visible when we have multiple locales. Currently, we only have a limitation where the edit feature can be restricted to the locale, but we cannot restrict the read, delete, and create functions for that specific locale.
Contentful has provided custom roles and permissions, but in my opinion, it should be at a more extensive level, enabling us to restrict users at the locale level so that a user sees only the content of their specific locale. A user cannot see the content of any other locale if they are not provided the permission.
Content management is simplified, and team collaboration has improved. For workflow timing and content updates, there is some limitation in content updates, as manual work takes considerable time. However, most aspects—including content management, Contentful CLI tools, Contentful roles and permissions, and GraphQL query management—have positively impacted our operations. Website management has become very easy, and content updates to websites are straightforward. We can easily update the website content.
What needs improvement?
I wish Contentful would provide a better feature for publishing all content entries at once. Additionally, if any validation errors occur, handling them in a better way would be beneficial. Changing the state of entries for querying to the CLI tools would also be valuable. If Contentful could provide a better parameter for changed state entries, that would be excellent. Most importantly, the publishing option for publishing all changed entries at once would save considerable time.
I would recommend that roles and permissions be improved as soon as possible, as that would be a valuable feature.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been working for 4.5 years in my current field.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
Contentful is very stable. I did not see any issues.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
Scalability issues are handled by our organization's admin team. They will be in contact with the customer support team. If there are any issues, we report them to our organization's admin team, and they check with support.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
We used Sitecore previously. We converted all websites to modern web technology using Next.js, so we switched to Contentful for the modern features.
How was the initial setup?
Setup and pricing are handled by our organization's admin team. Currently, I do not have much information on this.
What was our ROI?
I would say time saved is the key ROI. With Contentful, we can migrate entries using the CLI and update content easily once we become habituated to it. Time was saved most of the time.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
Setup cost and pricing are handled by our organization's admin team. Currently, I do not have much information on this.
What other advice do I have?
Organizations can use localization if they have the same content and should watch out for that feature. They can use the CLI for easy migration in Contentful. Exploring more on Contentful GraphQL queries, Contentful SDK, and Contentful CLI is beneficial. Contentful web app is very easy to learn, and the learning curve is simple. It is an easy solution.
I would like to highlight the roles and permissions features. I would request the team to look into it and provide that feature, as it would be excellent. I provided this review a rating of 9.

Content management has become reusable and efficient while rich text formatting saves coding work
Pros and Cons
- "Contentful has impacted my organization positively because it is the best headless CMS, and it is very useful for my organization."
- "I have seen a return on investment with fewer employees needed and time saved, but the money costs are quite high."
What is our primary use case?
My main use case for Contentful is for authoring purposes, such as storing data and retrieving data from Contentful by using Contentful APIs and managing content.
A specific example of how I use Contentful for authoring or managing content is that I integrate APIs. There are many APIs available for managing content. First, I integrate Contentful in our code and from there, by using their APIs, I retrieve the content from Contentful. In Contentful, there are fields and models in which I create some models and some fields for storing content. I make fields and models in a way so that they can be reusable for other projects and components as well. This is how I'm using it and it is very useful.
What is most valuable?
Contentful is very easy to learn because the beneficial aspect I discovered is that we are able to use reusable components. If we make one component, we can use it for another component as well. The integration part is very easy, and anyone who wants to learn Contentful can learn it in a few months. It is very useful. There are features such as Rich Text, which handles data formatting so we don't have to work from our code. This is the best feature I have experienced, the Rich Text.
The best features Contentful offers in my opinion are the models, the fields, and the Rich Text. We can manage content according to the UI—whatever the UI is, we can manage that content in Contentful accordingly. This is the best feature I have found. It literally reduces the code, so a coder doesn't need to think about content, where to hold it and where not to hold it.
These features help my team's workflow. For example, if I have five to six components in my projects and there are limitations of 50 models we can create, we can use those 50 models in our project, and anyone can use that.
Contentful has impacted my organization positively because it is the best headless CMS, and it is very useful for my organization. Content management is very easy with it. When we started using Contentful, we stopped worrying about the content, where to place it and how to manage it, how to design it, or how to show it in the front-end. These things are managed by Contentful, which has impacted our organization very positively.
Since using Contentful, it has saved a lot of time for our team. We don't need to put content in our code and make the project heavy. We use the content in Contentful, integrate those APIs, and get the content from there. We are using it in every project; Contentful is very useful.
What needs improvement?
I think there are small things that can be improved in Contentful. Some things are very complex. When we are using Rich Text, we need to integrate that. It is not very easy to understand the Rich Text part, but it is very useful in that sense.
The most important area for improvement is the documentation and exam pattern. When I go through the documentation, I get a video for every topic, but there are many complex things which I am not able to understand because they give only one chance to pass the exam. I think there should be two attempts for passing the exam; it is very difficult to pass that exam in one attempt. I faced that issue, so work on the documentation and the exam pattern, allowing at least two attempts.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using Contentful for two years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
In my experience, Contentful is stable.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
Contentful's scalability in my projects is very much scalable.
How are customer service and support?
The customer support for Contentful is very good.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I previously used Sanity before Contentful. We could make models and schemas in our code, which would then be reflected on the browsers, allowing us to manage it accordingly for any of the projects.
I think Contentful is the best option to use and I did not evaluate any other options before choosing Contentful.
What was our ROI?
I have seen a return on investment with fewer employees needed and time saved, but the money costs are quite high.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
The pricing, setup cost, and licensing for Contentful are very high.
What other advice do I have?
I rate Contentful an eight out of ten. Eight is a good number.
I chose eight out of ten because some things are very complex in Contentful. We cannot manage content according to some functionalities. If I compare it with other content management tools available in the market, I rated it an eight because some are very easy to access, very easy to learn, and very easy to manage in some parts.
My advice for others looking into using Contentful is that if you are ready to invest money and want a quality tool where you can manage your content very precisely, then go for it; it is very good to use. My overall rating for Contentful is eight out of ten.

Headless content workflows have accelerated campaign launches and simplify multi-stack delivery
Pros and Cons
- "Contentful has helped serve clients better by allowing campaigns to be launched quickly and pages to be developed rapidly, enabling focus on the structure of the page while putting the content on Contentful, which reduces the time to make the page live."
What is our primary use case?
I use Contentful to manage content-heavy websites for clients, where all content related to pages is stored, such as product pages, landing pages, and the homepage.
The preview API is used heavily, which allows editors to create pages and preview them on their machines to see how content will look on the website.
What is most valuable?
Contentful offers many features, including functioning as a headless content management system that can be integrated with any tech stack, using a CDN to deliver content which is significantly faster than serving through a single server, and providing a UI that is very easy to use, allowing users to navigate around easily and perform their normal tasks.
The most valuable feature is the headless capacity of Contentful because Nuxt is used for the front end and Shopify for back-end operations, so Contentful bridges that gap easily and allows content-heavy pages to be managed.
Contentful has helped serve clients better by allowing campaigns to be launched quickly and pages to be developed rapidly, enabling focus on the structure of the page while putting the content on Contentful, which reduces the time to make the page live.
Pages that previously took around a week to launch now take two to three days less, depending on the page size and complexity.
Contentful has allowed the team's work overhead to be saved, as previously there was back and forth for multiple changes requiring code deployment multiple times to see those changes. By using Contentful, content can be changed directly and seen updated on the live website, which saves around 30% of the time that would have been spent.
What needs improvement?
One thing that could be enhanced is the UI since it is currently only available in light mode and does not have a dark mode.
No issues have been found with the performance of Contentful, and many integrations have not been used with it.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have used Contentful for around two plus years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
Contentful is very stable.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
Scalability is not an issue as Contentful auto-scales and no issues have been faced regarding its scalability.
How are customer service and support?
Customer support is fantastic.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
Other options such as Sanity and Brightspot were evaluated.
What other advice do I have?
Contentful receives a rating of nine out of ten because there is always room for improvement, and one improvement was suggested, so in my opinion, nine is a very good rating.
The advice to give is to go through the material provided on Contentful's platform and their learning platform as well, because doing so will make Contentful's platform more cohesive, which will help to get up to speed with the product. My overall review rating for Contentful is nine out of ten.

Content management has shifted to producers and empowers faster content updates and publishing
Pros and Cons
- "Contentful has positively impacted my organization as it has been a major breakthrough."
- "Contentful needs to be improved for migration, not only for migration, but from lower to higher environments as well, as the schema diffs and everything are not working as expected."
What is our primary use case?
My main use case for Contentful is for migrating our Oracle ATG server into Contentful as a migration project.
During that migration project, we created multiple content types and developed a custom app where we map the ATG server code to our content types. We used that mapping to import the particular content to Contentful.
After the migration, we used this particular content for the website, specifically for our client Sephora, where we utilized all this content.
What is most valuable?
Contentful offers many best features including Preview, Custom Apps, migrations, Merge App, and workflows.
We used the preview feature whenever we wanted to see how particular content looks, and at that time we ran our server locally and tested it. Additionally, we used custom apps for building bulk editors and multiple features where we could reuse some of the code.
Contentful has positively impacted my organization as it has been a major breakthrough. The producers can automatically update their content without relying on developers, which is really helpful for the producers.
I could say we saved around 60% of the time for developers. Previously, we maintained all the content, but now producers handle that, which allows developers and producers to publish their content immediately when they want to update it.
What needs improvement?
Contentful needs to be improved for migration, not only for migration, but from lower to higher environments as well, as the schema diffs and everything are not working as expected. Improving the CI/CD pipelines would be greatly helpful, and it could build similar capabilities to Builder.io for enhanced growth when using Contentful.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using Contentful for more than five years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
Contentful is stable.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
Contentful is scalable. We can scale the application to any level we want without any problems regarding scalability.
How are customer service and support?
Customer support is good. There are three levels of support available, and level one support resolves issues within 15 minutes to one hour.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
We previously used ATG Oracle Cloud, which is too old and requires developers to handle the cloud architecture and content, leading to our migration to Contentful.
What was our ROI?
I have seen a return on investment. Previously, we used to have 10 developers for the ATG Oracle cloud, but for Contentful, we only need two developers, and once it is streamlined, producers can handle everything without the need for developers.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
I evaluated Strapi, but Strapi requires everything to be done by the developer only, including in-house premises and deployments, while Contentful allows us to do everything on the fly.
What other advice do I have?
Others looking into using Contentful can use it seamlessly without relying on any other deployments. Everything is present in Contentful itself, and any custom apps can also be deployed within Contentful without needing separate servers.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Content management has improved authoring and now delivers faster, higher performing websites
Pros and Cons
- "I advise using Contentful as the first option because it is scalable and stable with all features included."
- "Contentful would be improved if integrations could be made easier."
What is our primary use case?
I am using Contentful for content management system. I code and make a website from it, fetching the data from Contentful. I use Contentful for images and contents. I work on Contentful for my website projects.
I am currently working on my Digistep website project. To fetch the data, I first upload content in Contentful, including images and media in the media section. After that, I fetch the data in my code, which appears in the browser as output.
What is most valuable?
I use Contentful for content management system and performance optimization. Using Contentful increases my website performance to approximately 90 plus performance. In PageSpeed Insights, the performance shows 90 plus after using Contentful.
My best experience is that Contentful is very easy to use and helps with authoring purposes. A non-technical person can easily work on Contentful from the authoring end. That is the best part of Contentful.
For integrations, I use Contentful through GraphQL API and Content Management API and many more. Contentful is very useful. After using it, the data with large memory size is reduced and the page reloading capacity is increased.
The page speed is increased because when I test my website performance in PageSpeed Insights, it shows good performance.
What needs improvement?
Contentful would be improved if integrations could be made easier. If a non-technical person wants to integrate the code, they will definitely struggle because they do not have any coding background. That is what I need to improve in Contentful.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been working in my field for approximately four years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
Contentful is stable.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
Contentful is scalable and easy to use.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I have used a CMS for the first time in my organization, which is Contentful.
What other advice do I have?
I advise using Contentful as the first option because it is scalable and stable with all features included. My company is a customer, and we use Contentful as a service. I would rate this review ten out of ten.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
Hybrid Cloud
If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?

Content workflows have become simpler for non-technical teams but could offer deeper features
Pros and Cons
- "The best features Contentful offers are its APIs and how easy it is to integrate them."
- "Contentful has not helped my organization or our customers achieve any measurable benefits, such as saving time or improving workflows, as we have not measured that."
What is our primary use case?
My main use case for Contentful is optimizing images and videos. While people use Contentful to build websites, Contentful does not provide an inbuilt image and video optimizer. ImageKit fills this gap, allowing people who use Contentful to optimize their images and providing a digital asset management solution inside the Contentful UI itself. That is the kind of integration I am working with in Contentful.
I have a website and want to optimize my images and videos using Contentful to build that website, which is very easy. I can use my own frontend and then use the API to build that website, while also integrating ImageKit, which is my current organization. It is a mixture of these two approaches.
What is most valuable?
The best features Contentful offers are its APIs and how easy it is to integrate them. Feature-wise, the majority of CMSs are the same; I have used Strapi, and feature-wise, those are similar. The ease of use and the way Contentful provides the APIs and how easy it is to fetch the data directly and use it in your frontend is the best part. I have not explored many features, having mostly built a basic web page, so there could be features that I am not aware of, but the ones I have used were quite intuitive and easier to use.
Contentful's impact on my organization is that we do not use it very much. Contentful has not helped my organization or our customers achieve any measurable benefits, such as saving time or improving workflows, as we have not measured that. It does help customers who are using Contentful, but I have not quantified it.
What needs improvement?
Contentful works well for me; I might need to explore it a bit more to identify improvements. As I mentioned, I have been using it for a specific task, which it accomplishes quite well. I built a web page and integrated ImageKit successfully, so it works well in that way. Perhaps in the future, I can provide more feedback for this question.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using Contentful for around a year, mostly integrating it with my current company, ImageKit, which is an image CDN and image and video CDN, and that integrates well with Contentful. That is how I started working on Contentful.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
Contentful is stable in my experience; it is quite stable. The UI works well, as I did not encounter any issues with it and the APIs seem to work without problems.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
I have not scaled Contentful to that level, so I would not be able to comment, but I would assume it is scalable.
How are customer service and support?
I have not had any experience with customer support, as I managed to figure out the majority of things using the documentation and other resources. Therefore, I did not need to reach out for support.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I have used multiple solutions before Contentful because I work with many customers using different systems. I have used WordPress, Magento, Shopify, Strapi, and then Contentful. Strapi and Contentful stand out to me because they are next-generation CMSs, where the APIs and functionality are much easier to understand. It is JavaScript-based, making it a very easy way to start building websites. While I have not switched away from others, I see a definite improvement compared to WordPress and other traditional CMS systems.
How was the initial setup?
My experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing is that I did not use the price plan; I was using the free plan, which did what I wanted it to do. Therefore, I cannot comment on the cost. The setup was easy, which I think would be the same even for the free plan and the pricing plan, but since I have not used the paid tier, I cannot speak on it.
What about the implementation team?
I was using the free plan which did what I wanted it to do. Therefore, I cannot comment on the cost.
What was our ROI?
I have seen a return on investment with Contentful, as it definitely saves time. Even if someone is not technical, they can provide a structure, and then someone from the technical team can pull data. Contentful gives a lot of control in terms of what you want, allowing even non-technical people to contribute positively. As a SaaS, it also helps significantly since you do not need to host it and deal with associated complexities.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
My experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing is that I did not use the price plan; I was using the free plan, which did what I wanted it to do.
What other advice do I have?

Contentful has not helped my organization or our customers achieve any measurable benefits, such as saving time or improving workflows, as we have not measured that. It does help customers who are using Contentful, but I have not quantified it.
My advice to others looking into using Contentful is to definitely try it because if they have a use case of providing some sort of tool for their non-technical people to build things, Contentful stands out. I have used Strapi, which can be a little more technical and tougher for people to understand. Contentful, in contrast, enables non-technical users to build things while their technical team can then integrate it.
I would rate my overall experience with Contentful as a 7 out of 10.

Content management has streamlined dynamic page creation but still needs simpler environment data moves
Pros and Cons
- "Contentful has positively impacted my organization by making things easier, as I am able to create new pages immediately without significant additional development effort."
- "Contentful could be improved in the following ways. It would be much easier if I could move data from one environment to another without any CLI tools."
What is our primary use case?
My main use case for Contentful is to set up content for content tools and entries for my clients as I create website pages using Contentful. I developed a custom page where clients can easily create pages from Contentful itself.
I am currently developing a website using Contentful that can be dynamic, specifically focusing on how I use content types for my clients.
What is most valuable?
The best features Contentful offers are easy data management, separate environments for different stages such as QA, UAT, production, and staging, and the ability to create dynamic pages using content.
Contentful has positively impacted my organization by making things easier. I am able to create new pages immediately without significant additional development effort.
Contentful has helped my organization in specific ways. Changing data has become much easier, so I do not have to deploy every time data changes in my application. If clients need more pages, I can build them immediately without any development work.
What needs improvement?
Contentful could be improved in the following ways. It would be much easier if I could move data from one environment to another without any CLI tools. An option to move data from one environment to another would be beneficial, so I do not have to move data manually.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using Contentful for the last six months.
What other advice do I have?
I would advise others looking into using Contentful that it would be a good opportunity because it significantly reduces development effort and makes it easier to manage changes. I would rate this product a 7.
