My use cases for Alletra Storage MP B10000 primarily include the data stores on the VMware cluster and also SAP, as we have an SAP on-premise that provides a different array to supply the storage for the SAP servers, while everything else throughout the globe serves as data storage for VMware.

The feature of Alletra Storage MP B10000 that I appreciate the most is the product line, especially since the Alletra MP is bringing to bear quite a lot of features that are important in the different plans, including file services, block storage, file, and everything. The older storage products we have were limited to just block storage, and we're really excited about the Alletra MP and where that's going to go, which we plan to continue when we do our data center refresh next year with a much larger array.

An example of how the features of Alletra Storage MP B10000 have been benefiting my organization is through the reliability and stability we experience, as the engineering team that takes care of it, plus my team that reports up to me, are very comfortable with the technology, which has been reliable, and HPE's support has been fantastic. Anytime we have issues, such as a failed drive or code updates, they are very helpful, and I think part of that is brought to us by the GreenLake program, having that dedicated team to keep us aware of updates, but generally, we have experienced reliability with no failures.

I would like to see Alletra Storage MP B10000 improved in terms of the program's speed, as the administration, creation of change orders, issuance of those orders, and shipping of products take a while. There's a backend machine that HPE has to go through, and we shared with them a month ago at a user group that we want to see improvements in the efficiency of that backend, as no questions arise about the technology, it's really just the paperwork required to get a contract out that is a little slow.

The solution's scaling abilities affect the operation of my business significantly, as I see it as a key feature that prevents us from being locked into a certain maximum size, and with the Alletra MP, we are able to scale quite large.

I would rate the support I've received from HPE a nine, simply for the fact that no one's quite perfect, but concerning the storage itself, they're pretty damn close to perfect.

I cannot speak to the solutions I considered prior to switching to Alletra Storage MP B10000, as that was a long time before my time, but this year I reevaluated what we were doing and why, ensuring our pricing was lined up with the market by evaluating both servers and storage technology as well as the intangibles of each vendor's support organization, leading me to the comfortable conclusion that HPE still remains the best choice for us.

I have seen a return on investment, which is a little more nuanced, as with Alletra Storage MP B10000 being an operational expense allows me to do a lot more with fewer dollars, spread over the course of the contract, and that helps bring new technology in or expand what I need to, compared to capital costs.

My experience with the pricing, setup costs, and licensing has been generally favorable, as the account team is pretty strong and experienced. They do their best to get the machine out, and regarding pricing, this year I compared it with other vendors, and HPE is still on par with what the other vendors have out there, so I'm comfortable with the pricing.

The main point that made me come to that realization is some of the intangibles. While pricing is on par and we know what we'll pay whether we go with Dell or stay with HPE, the team that takes care of our organization has been doing so for the last 10 years, providing on-site support quickly to replace parts, fix issues, and help us troubleshoot, with my account rep Rick Beltz and his team having the necessary resources. He keeps us updated and we have routine meetings about new technology, along with events like Discover allowing us opportunities to meet other customers as well as HPE and partners to find resources.

I am not using or managing my storage AI scale through Alletra Storage MP B10000 at this point, as we do not have an AI presence yet. It is still in development, though the storage we have, especially in the MP line, gives us that foundation, and we're ensuring that when we refresh, we refresh with the proper storage to enable that, while we are still defining what our use cases are for AI.

The solution's data reduction technology has reduced our data center power costs. I cannot specify the exact amount, but I can say that we average about a 2 to 2.5 to 3-to-1 reduction, which obviously reduces the amount of storage required and results in less power being needed because we don't require as much storage.

The importance of having independent scaling of performance and capacity for my storage system lies in serving different workloads, as I can configure the various workloads to take advantage of the processing power within the arrays.

My deployment model for Alletra Storage MP B10000 is all on-prem today, while one of the key areas we're looking at during our current visit is the hybrid cloud, with Azure Local being another key theme of the Discover event regarding HPE's collaboration with Microsoft.

The features of HPE Alletra Storage MP B10000 that I appreciate the most are availability for the company. These features benefit my organization because uptime is better for the company.

Managing and monitoring my global block storage environment from the solution's single cloud console is very simple for me as the administrator. It is simple since it is very easy to create hosts.

The ability to scale capacity and performance independently makes for very easy operation.

The solution has helped us lower costs.

It's helped us reduce time spent on capacity planning.

Regarding DR, the RPO and RTOs are very good. It's very important for the company to be able to recover our data easily. It's flexible. The time to recovery becomes very fast.

The administration is very straightforward. The uptime has been good.

I do not want to see any additional features. For me, it's okay.

The administration UI is only in English, not Spanish.

I have been using HPE Alletra Storage MP B10000 for one year.

I would assess the stability and reliability of HPE Alletra Storage MP B10000 by saying the experience has no downtimes or crashes, and the performance is good.

HPE Alletra Storage MP B10000 scales with the growing needs of my organization in terms of performance for applications. We have expanded usage for scaling.

I evaluate customer service and technical support as so-so. They take a long time to return the action plan after I send the logs. It takes them one to two days to respond. On a scale of one to ten, I would rate customer service and technical support an eight or nine.

Before adopting HPE Alletra Storage MP B10000, I was using other HPE storage solutions to address similar needs regarding performance, cost, administration, scalability, and support.

My experience with deploying HPE Alletra Storage MP B10000 is good, with no problems for now. The typical administration worked for me. It was easy. Everything can be done with a simple click.

I have seen a return on investment from HPE Alletra Storage MP B10000. Our previous storage was 3PAR, and it is basically the same, it is good.

I have no visibility on licensing. I'm on the technical side. 

I considered only HPE storage before selecting HPE Alletra Storage MP B10000; no other options such as IBM were on my list.

My main use cases for HPE Alletra Storage MP B10000 are virtualization and database.

The features of HPE Alletra Storage MP B10000 that I prefer the most are the snapshotting and ease of administration. These features have benefited my organization by providing time and cost savings.

The ability to scale capacity and performance independently impacts operations positively, as increasing capacity is effortless; you just plug it in, and it's bigger. The solution's AI-driven predictive analytics and performance reporting give us a picture of which VMs are being used the most, so we know if we have to adjust how they're set up. These features have helped reduce the time spent on capacity planning.

The solution enables the line of business or DB admins to self-provision storage. The ability to self-provision storage has helped reduce the time required for storage provisioning and management because of the ease of provisioning; it just doesn't take long to do it.

They need to put back in the feature in which you can export volumes by set instead of individually. I mentioned this in a meeting I recently had with them.

I don't have a feature set I'm looking for right now for the next release.

I have been using HPE Alletra Storage MP B10000 for eight months.

I have not experienced any downtime, crashes, or performance issues.

We have not had to expand this yet.

I cannot fully evaluate customer service and technical support because we haven't had to engage them yet. On a scale of one to 10, I would rate customer service and technical support an eight, though we really haven't used them much yet.

Prior to adopting HPE Alletra Storage MP B10000, I was using the predecessor three-par products to address similar needs.

I would describe my experience with deploying HPE Alletra Storage MP B10000 as fairly easy. We had paid for the startup service, so they completed most of the setup. We just had to provide the necessary configuration items.

The process involved dealing with the GreenLake system online for registration before the system would set itself up, though I faced challenges with that part.

We have seen a return on investment with HPE Alletra Storage MP B10000. It provided a 2X improvement.

My experience with pricing, setup costs, and licensing was good. Though I'm not really the money person, I'm technical, it was a fairly easy process.

Before selecting HPE Alletra Storage MP B10000, I considered Hitachi Data Systems and IBM Flash. What stood out in my evaluation process, both positive and negative, when comparing the solutions, were the previous feature set, my previous use of the product, its predecessor products at our company, and overall value.

My advice to other organizations considering HPE Alletra Storage MP B10000 is that it's a good choice.

Our main use cases for HPE Alletra Storage MP B10000 involve a lot of VOD infrastructure within my company, where we store the content so that we can play it out to the clients. This is where we store most of the content.

The features of HPE Alletra Storage MP B10000 that I appreciate the most include the high RAM, which allows us to extract the data quickly, and the GUI, which is much more intuitive than the competitors. 

These features benefit our organization by enabling us to provide low-latency VOD content to the clients.

We need to ensure that the GUIs are intuitive so that when an issue happens, we can easily navigate through it and fix it. Everything has been smooth so far with the product.

HPE Alletra Storage MP B10000 could be improved by integrating it with GreenLake, as this would enable us to do end-to-end monitoring across both on-prem and cloud environments better. It has a lot of capabilities, but we haven't yet put it in action.

I haven't seen any issues with HPE Alletra Storage MP B10000 in terms of scaling capacity and performance independently, which has positively impacted our operations and helped lower storage costs. From a capacity perspective, it's very flexible. If we demand a capacity increase because of content increase, it's easy. We don't see any issues in that matter.

I evaluate the customer service and technical support for HPE Alletra Storage MP B10000 as excellent so far. On a scale from 1 to 10, I would rate customer service and technical support for HPE Alletra Storage MP B10000 as a nine because I don't really deal with troubleshooting, and I'm commenting from what I heard from the team.

My experience with pricing, setup, and licensing for HPE Alletra Storage MP B10000 shows that pricing was higher, but we understand that because of the stability it provides. It has its advantages and that's why it's priced high in comparison to others.

Before selecting HPE Alletra Storage MP B10000, we considered other solutions, including Dell EMC storage options, and there are other companies that are not as good as Dell and HP. 

It comes at a cost because with HP, things are much more stable, so that's why we decided to go that route. In our evaluation process, what stood out positively was that from a technology perspective, the HP Alletra solution was better, but from a costing perspective, it was higher. 

It had pros and cons, and we had to weigh them out and come up with a decision.

I have not experienced any downtime, crashes, or performance issues with HPE Alletra Storage MP B10000. 

My advice to other organizations considering HPE Alletra Storage MP B10000 is that the HPE model itself is successful because they really make sure that they future-proof your solution, so the solution becomes feature-rich. 

There are many features and capabilities that the solution is capable of that we're not leveraging yet. Going with the big players is recommended because they know what they're doing, and at the same time, there's a great track record and great references all over the world. 

On a scale of 1-10, I rate this solution a 10.

We use the solution for general compute for our VMware infrastructure. We use it for some niche radiology pack solutions.

We're seeing a reduction in the actual amount of data being stored. There's more room to grow. It saves us time and increases efficiency. It is set it and forget it. It frees us up to do other things.

The ease of use, the reporting, and the setup are excellent. It's all very easy. 

The deduplication that we're getting is exceeding our expectations.

It provides a cloud-like experience on-prem for managing our global block storage environment. It has simplified things for us. We don't have a big team, so having a simplified, automated process goes a long way for a small but nimble team. 

From the partners that we use to set it up, scaling out is very simple by just adding nodes.

The solution definitely helps us meet the objectives of our SLOs and SLAs. This is very important. We like to have options for on-prem and cloud. 

It's definitely reduced downtime. We haven't had any so far. 

The solution did help us reduce our operational expenses. Going off our older 20K models to the new Alletra, it gives a better TCO over a ten-year period.

The classifying of the data could be better. I'd like more advanced features for metadata and data classification.

I've been using the solution for six months. 

The stability is very good. We haven't had any issues. 

We haven't had a chance to scale yet. 

Technical support has been good. 

We used to use 3PAR. We switched to take advantage of newer technology and NVMe storage. 

The deployment process was super-easy. We had them up and powered on, accepting data transfers in less than a day. 

We have a partner that helped with setup and licensing. 

We've only had the solution for six months and have yet to see an ROI. 

The licensing was easy. We leveraged our partner to set up the pricing, et cetera. It was straightforward. 

We looked at Pure Storage and NetApp. The partner system we had was very knowledgeable and made the choice easy.

We're early on in our deployment, so I'd rate it eight out of ten. We have yet to scale and have not increased capacity. 

The solution offers primary storage for our VMware environment.

We're still in the process of moving our workload over to it. We're going from an undersized array with SSDs to a brand-new technology with NVMe storage, and it's going to allow us to run our applications without having the kind of latency that was causing performance issues for our end users. Also, we're going to be able to do sandbox replication between our two data centers. 

The scalability is very good. 

The performance, stability, and price. Are excellent.

We're able to provide a cloud-like experience while managing on-prem.

It simplifies management a lot. My engineer made a couple of quick videos that included all we really needed to know how to train other people to do the work they needed to.

It's crucial for us to maintain 100% data availability and have that guarantee provided by GreenLake. We're a healthcare organization. We run hospitals and clinics. We need that uptime.

We're a big VMware shop. We do a lot with snapshots and things like that. We run our epic environment. We will run our epic environment on it, and we'll do snapshots for backups, snapshots for standing up, nonproduction, and test environments. I'm moving from one data center to another and using this as a storage target for it and planning on doing it without downtime. Disaster recovery will be an important aspect.

The acquisition cost was better than what we were looking at. I actually like the support mode where the software is on a subscription. It's going to force my leadership team to stay with the support. That's been an issue in the past where we've got to the end of the line with storage and then kept trying to run it without support. It's not a good idea. It always bites us. Therefore, we went with five years of support so that we could get a better deal out of the gate than the traditional three years.

We just started using the solution. With support, occasionally, we have a little trouble escalating things.

I primarily use the solution for three weeks.

Scalability is fantastic. It's got a clear path to increasing controller size to increase processor cores. It's using the Block storage. It's going to be wonderful for us.

I'm running two different models for primary storage. We're also putting in one for our Epic production database, and it's going to be two nodes with 32 core processors.

HPE support overall's been really good. Right now, we're in that space between deployment and support. When something's not right, we need to figure out if it is a support issue, or a deployment issue. Issues were primarily with compute, though. We didn't add any issue with storage that needed any support yet.

We used different solutions and had trouble with the performance setting. We were running a Unity 650.

The deployment was very easy. We spent one day with everything racked up and another day setting up the storage, provisioning a few servers, and making sure everything worked. It's straightforward and easy to do.

We had an HPE field service engineer out. He was with us for a couple of days. 

The pricing was very competitive, and it was better than the Dell EMC that we used to use. They made it easy to come back to HPE. Have a long history with HPE Storage, and it's just really never let me down. Since we were able to get it at a competitive price point, it was a really easy decision to make.

We looked at Pure Storage. We looked at IBM Storage.

It's rock solid. We were away with another vendor for a few years as a result of the merger we went through. And now we're coming home to HPE, and I couldn't be happier.

I'd rate the solution ten out of ten.

For the most part, looking at how we consume data and pay for data at the end of the day is the advantage. The pay-as-you-go model is a much easier way to go.

Moving to a consumption model is highly desirable from the client side. everyone seems to be moving in that direction. 

It provides a cloud-like experience on-prem. It simplified it for the most part. When you look at a lot of the storage and historically how it's been done, you're doing a lot of forecasting, a lot of business justification, a lot of purchasing of hardware, and oversizing for growth, et cetera. The pay-as-you-go model is a much more simplified way of doing things. And it offers more flexibility.

The scale capacity improves and simplifies the experience in terms of growth and performance. A lot of clients I work with have performance requirements. I work heavily in financial and healthcare segments and those need 24/7/365 performance with no downtime. 

GreenLake helped to reduce our operational expenses.

The marketplace should improve. There should be a more robust variety of vendors. There should be more details about the vendors as well. It's hard to figure out what people really do and why. 

We do not use it internally; however, many of our customers do. We are part of the GreenLake infrastructure, and we work with clients to ensure we're integrated appropriately with those products. 

The solution is stable from what I have been told. I haven't had any complaints. 

This is a scalable solution. It's one of the most highly desirable capabilities. 

I've been pleased with the experience when dealing with technical support. Every one has been very responsive to the issues we have had.

Since we're a third party, we support everybody that has cloud environments, Azure, AWS, et cetera. The benefit of GreenLake is that it brings that same experience to the on-premise environments. A lot of our clients, particularly in the financial space, particularly in the care space again, especially when dealing with a lot of sensitive information, and they don't like that information being leaked out or leaving the premises. So, having an on-premise version of a cloud-like experience is highly beneficial.

I'm not on the deployment side of the product. From what I've heard, most people seem pretty pleased with the setup experience. I haven't had many people point out specific deficiencies. 

I'd rate the solution nine out of ten. They could improve the marketplace.

We primarily use the solution for storage provisioning and running demos. 

It helps us reducing the complexity in order to manage your storage systems. Simplifying the management of every array from several locations is difficult. One of the most important things for us is to reduce complexity, managing, and operating tasks. Our goal was not to have a lot of different consoles for every device. It unifies everything.

I really like Intent-based Provisioning. You don't need to know a lot about storage or where to place your data since the platform and artificial intelligence will help you do that.

The unified management experience has been great. That's a huge advantage. 

Having all the different services in the GreenLake platform makes it really easy to switch between the different services the platform provides. Having everything integrated in one is a really good advantage.

The solution's 100% data availability guarantees our operations and businesses. Every second you lose, you're losing money. It's really important to have that 100% availability. Also, these days, with the rise of ransomware and so on, having guaranteed availability is essential. 

When it comes to disaster recovery, the solution allows us to meet and reduce our RPO and RTO strategies by 75% to 80%.

It's simple to manage and monitor our global block storage environment from a single cloud. It's also very intuitive.

The solution has reduced the amount of time we spend on storage management. We spend less time monitoring. It's saved us about 50% of our time. With everything integrated into one platform, there's less moving around. Plus, we receive email alerts and updates and so on. Management becomes faster and easier. 

A huge advantage of disaggregated architecture is that it allows clients to scale up to meet their needs. For clients, you can also start over-provisioning. Compared to other solutions, it helps users save a lot of other resources. 

AI-driven predictive analytics and performance reporting are helpful. If there's a problem in the environment, it will be caught before it occurs. This helps ensure that daily operations aren't affected by issues.

Our line of business or admins are enabled to self-provision storage. They have all the visibility of the different storage solutions no matter where they are. It gives users complete visibility and also allows them to manage capacity planning for the future.

The solution helped reduce the time required for storage provisioning by 70% or 80% or so. It's easy and intuitive. 

We've had clients have some problems where it was really difficult to solve issues. They needed to apply some APIs, queries, and so on, and it was quite difficult. 

I've used the solution since it was released. It's been a few years now. 

I'd rate the stability ten out of ten. 

We have six to eight people that use the solution overall. We only have the solution at one location. 

I'd rate the scalability ten out of ten. 

We've dealt with technical support in the past, and they have solved our problems. We've been happy with their level of service. 

We did not really use a different solution. We've used other HPE arrays and did not have a cloud console.

The initial setup is straightforward. We were able to deploy it within one day. Two or three worked on the deployment. 

There isn't any maintenance needed once it is set up. The invisible upgrades make it easy to update.

Maybe purchasing through GreenLake is more expensive than a traditional buyback, however, it's cost-effective since it allows you to access many different features and services that you don't have with a traditional purchase. 

We're an HPE partner. 

I'd recommend the solution to others. It's a new approach to storage provisioning that simplifies everything. Anyone can manage and operate it easily.

I would rate the solution ten out of ten.

My use case is mainly for virtualization. Most of the workloads are virtualization. They're running virtual machines on there. Now I'm also deploying it for containerized applications. I also have a small Kubernetes stack storing its data.

I am a long-time HPE storage user and what I like the most is that they picked the best of both worlds and merged them together in one platform. 

I can start small. I can scale up. I can scale out. I can scale the capacity independently of the performance. 

The most important feature is that it's easy to manage. It has integrations with my application and with my software stack.

It's so easy. We have the full life cycle management doing updates, and it's just a button, so it makes life easier. 

The ease of management has the biggest impact. That directly impacts my daily life. With easier management with one console, the application team can use the same tool. It's much more efficient. The communication, the enablement, it goes much faster, and we are much more efficient.

The evolution over the last year has been good. They are doing a great job and have a good roadmap. 

We've saved a lot of time. However, how much time saved would depend on the number of actions or how you are measuring.

It improved your storage performance in iOS due to the technology that they're using and the NVMe Storage.

Today I get a better deduplication level compared to the previous generations. That means the price per gigabyte or terabyte is lower for me. 

It's still a block environment. The file storage is too big. If they can lower that so I can store files and objects on the same device, that would be great.

You need two different boxes for block and file storage. They aren't using the same hardware. It's the same hardware, yet not a compiled solution. I'd like one box in my data center. 

I see some features from InfoSight in the GreenLake management platform. However, it's not on par yet.

I've been using the solution for about a year now. 

HPE guarantees 100% availability. As long as I have electricity, it is stable. I've had no downtime. I've done updates and everything is a click of a button and nothing fell offline during the update. I've had no complaints so far.

The solution is easy to scale up and out. 

I haven't had to call customer service yet. That's a good thing. Most of the time, I could figure it out myself. If it is on par with my previous generation Ultra and Nimble Arrays then I don't expect to have a major issue with them.

The solution is a CAPEX for me. I'm not using it as a service with monthly or yearly billing. It is very competitively priced compared to my previous solutions. 

I'd rate the solution nine out of ten. 

I would recommend the solution to others. It's easy to install, set up, configure, and maintain. It makes my life easier. 

I have an account on HPE GreenLake. I log in. I create a company profile/a customer profile. From there, I adapt switches and access points to manage them centrally on this GreenLake portal.

The feature I like is that I can create a template and apply it to multiple switches. I don't have to do the same task on every switch, and the same goes for access points. 

It's central management, with the features that come with central management.

So, instead of having to configure five switches from scratch, they inherit the default config when adapted to the portal. That's a good thing.

As with every central management solution, you don't have to do the same thing over and over on each device. You can do it once and apply it to many devices. That's what central management is about.

My main concern is that changes made on the devices take a long time to configure and show their status. It's very inconvenient how long this takes. For example, if I configure five switches at a time. They all come with the same default name, so I have to identify them somehow. I select the first switch, change its name, and save the configuration. But it still has the same default name. So, I'm having a hard time figuring out what configuration has been implemented... Is it configured? Why is it not shown in the portal?

I'm disappointed with the portal. 

The debugging of devices could use improvement. Connection problems on devices as well. Better logging within GreenLake to understand what's happening with devices—why something isn't working, those kinds of things.

I have been familiar with this product for six months now. 

From my limited experience, I would rate it a nine out of ten. I haven't had any problems with its reliability and stability yet.

We have around 20 switches and maybe 30 to 40 access points. We are on our way to implement this. So far, the scalability is fine. 

I would rate the scalability a seven out of ten.

We used just the command-line interface (CLI).

It was our partner that suggested GreenLake, so we switched.

I would rate my experience with the initial setup a five out of ten, with one being difficult and ten being easy. 

HPE GreenLake is a cloud-based solution.

I understand it is a fairly new solution, and I'm hoping for improvements. Until then, I cannot recommend it.
