We use this solution as an adjudicator for an insurance company.
We are a development enterprise, and we sell the solutions we have to our customers. We have several customers that use our solutions in Oracle OBIEE. We are resellers.
We use this solution as an adjudicator for an insurance company.
We are a development enterprise, and we sell the solutions we have to our customers. We have several customers that use our solutions in Oracle OBIEE. We are resellers.
The dashboard and analysis are the most valuable features of this solution.
I would like to see Machine Learning included in this solution.
We have been using Oracle OBIEE for almost ten years.
Oracle OBIEE is a stable product.
The scalability of Oracle OBIEE is good.
If you combine all of your customers there are almost 150 users.
Technical support is fine.
We are also experienced using Tableau. We have the same application ruling in both technologies.
Tableau is deployed on the cloud.
Pricing is an area that could be improved.
I would rate Oracle OBIEE a nine out of ten.
In respect of the rates comparison, the client uses the solution to generate BI reports around relevant data.
I like the solution's stability.
I have encountered certain performance issues which have required us to play around with and streamline the data. The performance could be better.
Regarding the announcements, the data integration should be simplified, as the work is also with the clients. Since we have our different sources of data, those integrations must be maintained, which translates into a cost for our clients. Simplifying the process would save them a lot.
As one of our clients is using Oracle OBIEE, we have been with the solution for ten years now.
A great feature of the solution is its stability.
I have not had experience with technical support.
I was not involved in the installation process.
The technical team is actually divided between us and our clients. Some of the reports are being built by the client engineering team, so I am not aware of the relevant account. There are around five to ten people who manage the auxiliary activities concerning the reports or donate any data entry forms to them. This is the type of working we have been undertaking.
Simplifying the data integration process would save our clients considerable costs.
Our clients would be in a position to address any licensing costs. I cannot comment on the account, since we only make use of it.
The solution is also cloud-based.
I have been using the solution for quite awhile and, in line with what is reported in the media, I would recommend it to others. While each business scenario should be examined independently, I feel the solution definitely warrants use.
The solution offers a wide range of software tools to meet various needs, such as those concerning reports, developer solutions like APEX and the integration of data.
The ability to migrate from one version to another, such as doing so from version 11 to an upgraded 12 of Oracle business environment, can be difficult. The usage is not straightforward.
I have been using Oracle OBIEE for perhaps two years.
The solution has private deployment and only in respect of on-premises products.
I rate Oracle OBIEE as a ten out of ten.
I use different servers in OBIEE that are reflected as different subject areas on the application, and I can use one of them. For example, I have one subject area for marketing, the second for finance, so I have two subject areas available. I can use one of them that's not available for designing each function. Each file has or also contains mobile options. If the best model is a different file, I have to import it.
I like that Oracle OBIEE comes with more options. For example, more options with data security, user security, and other security. It's more complicated than Microsoft, but it gives you more options. They also added the part for machine learning, which is good.
It would be better if it had a wide range of visualization options. For example, Microsoft Power BI has an extensive range of visualization options, but it's not available in OBIEE. There are also some conflicts because it's complicated, but the cloud application is easier. They added some features for ETL with the on-premises application, but we need a different or a separate application for ETL in the cloud. In the next release, I would like to have more AI features.
I've been dealing with Oracle OBIEE for about two years.
The initial setup is complicated and time-consuming.
We are a very big organization with many different data sources. For large organizations like ours, I would recommend OBIEE. If we are speaking about a medium or small company with limited data sources, then I may recommend Power BI.
On a scale from one to ten, I would give Oracle OBIEE a nine, especially for organizations using large datasets.
We use this solution as a BI tool for data analysis.
The most valuable feature is the reporting.
The performance could improve and in a future release, they could provide more virtualization options.
I have been using Oracle OBIEE for approximately two years.
The solution is stable.
Oracle OBIEE is difficult to scale.
We have approximately 20 people using this solution in my organization.
The installation is complex and they could improve by making it straightforward.
I would not recommend this solution.
I rate Oracle OBIEE a five out of ten.
The flexibility to work with this on the cloud only if you would like is very helpful. There are fewer log-ins required. It's easy to connect to the live system.
The initial setup was straightforward.
The solution is stable.
We've found the technical support to be very helpful.
The solution has great reporting and forecasting capabilities.
If I want to develop a new repository, any new table, any new schema that I want to incorporate into the RPD, then in my local schema, can't directly connect to the cloud. I do not have complete end-to-end access to it. In such cases, I need to install some local DV. I don't know if that is the right path or not, however, as far as I'm concerned, I'm just creating some tables, some sample space in my local DB and from the DB I just try to import into my local RPD in order to publish to the cloud. It is double work. If I'm in a non-cloud environment and I need not connect to the local DB, I need not re-import everything into my local space. I can connect to the available on-premise DB and connecting to that on-premise DB I can create the RPD.
In terms of linking to the cloud, there are many restrictions. From a business standpoint, it is a great way to approach things. That said, from a developer's standpoint, it's a bit tough to develop the code and progress the code to the next environment like that.
There's a lot of redundancy, especially in relation to creating the code. Developers, in fact, have to deal with many hurdles, including security restrictions and vendor communications.
I've been using the solution for the next nine years at this point. It's been almost a decade.
The solution is stable. In fact, we are working to build out capabilities so that users who might use Tableau or Power BI can handle reports and other tasks right on top of this product. We're working to make it even more flexible for future users. So far, it's going very well.
Technical support is pretty good. I have no complaints as, whenever we raised any kind of tickets to them, within a short time, within a week, they have closed everything and solved the issue. We are pretty impressed. They have provided a wonderful solution as of now and whenever we've raised a new patch request, the upcoming patches have been fine.
The initial setup is not overly complex or difficult. It's quite straightforward. A company shouldn't have too many issues with the process.
I typically handle the initial setup for clients.
The solution is a bit expensive for a lot of clients. Many might not have the funds available for Oracle products. Most believe it to be a costly product. Nobody has compared it to the other reporting tools, however. They might not understand the costs involved.
We are just Oracle customers. We handle several clients. We don't have any kind of owned Oracle products, however, we are giving support to Oracle clients.
We use multiple deployment models, including the cloud and on-premises.
One thing from an Oracle standpoint is that we only concentrate on Oracle products - whatever the number of products you have in our chain. There are certainly other business users that also use Tableau as well as business objects and maybe Power BI. These are competitive reporting tools. The same users of Oracle might also have similar tools within one of those solutions.
My intention is let's migrate everybody to Oracle in order to connect certain scenarios on how to migrate those existing tools to Oracle. We're asking: what are the core competencies, what are the advantages of using this Oracle tool, and what are the flexibilities in order to migrate from these other solutions to Oracle. With Tableau, for our client, we have conducted several demonstrations on how to migrate the particular Tableau reports to OBIEE via the DV.
The way in which we have developed preferred reports has impressed them. They help play with their existing repositories as well. They can easily connect to their repository to an existing OBI repository to the direct source tables so they can easily use external additional sources. They can easily connect all their existing models and they can play here and there and experience all of that flexibility they have there in Tableau currently. We've written a custom SQL where they can create, they can dump everything in, and extract.
On the other hand, for particular business users, if they want to change the logic to Tableau it is not feasible for them. We are here for them to give support from Oracle and we need a lot of knowledge from business stakeholders to come up and check the flexibility by using this Oracle product on top of their other reporting areas.
I would 100% recommend Oracle, especially to people who on other platforms and want to adopt new typical areas specific to the cloud. If they want to enhance their reporting capabilities, Oracle is perfect for them. If they are looking for forecasting, this solution is great. There's a kind of flexibility you just won't typically see in other solutions.
I'd rate the solution at a ten out of ten.
In terms of features, everything is good. It is also stable and scalable.
It is complex for designing RPD, and it can be simpler. Their support can also be improved in terms of response time.
I have been using this solution for eight or nine years.
It is stable. We didn't have any issues.
It is scalable.
I have contacted them, and they are generally good, but sometimes, we get a late response.
I would recommend this solution to others. I would rate Oracle OBIEE an eight out of ten.
It is mainly used for dashboards and functional reports. It provides a standard operation report from transactional systems. We are using its latest version.
Some of the dashboard capabilities are good. The dashboard capabilities that tell you what kind of reports are available and provide you a summary of the reports are valuable. It is easy to navigate and easy to download reports into Excel to utilize them.
It should have more self-service capabilities.
I have been using this solution for nine years.
Its stability is good.
It is scalable. It is a standard enterprise tool.
Its user base would be easily up to 2,000 users. The users that we have are spread across different functions. We have some people who handle the inventory and financials.
We do get technical support from Oracle, and we are satisfied with it.
We didn't use any other solution.
It is pretty easy and very straightforward. It is just a web link that you click. After you have the access and everything is set up, you can just easily access it.
We didn't evaluate other products. It is something standard.
We plan to keep using it. It is not going to go anywhere. It is there. It doesn't have too many self-service capabilities, but it is good for the purpose that it serves.
I would rate Oracle OBIEE a seven out of ten.
We are using it for analysis purposes for different areas, such as sales, production. We are also using it for the financial data and quality module. We have customer complaint dashboards and all sorts of things.
It helps our senior management in reviewing the performance of sales, production, and customer complaints and taking decisions accordingly. These are the areas for which we have designed custom warehouses. All the data is available on a daily basis. They can see the performance on a daily basis. They can look at the performance of the Sales site, pending dispatches, and inventory status. All these things are available in custom dashboards, which helps them in making decisions easily.
The primary reason for using OBIEE is connectivity with Oracle E-Business Suite. It makes it easy to connect with our Oracle E-Business Suite. There are the standard dashboards available, which we sometimes use, and now we are looking for customized dashboards.
In the on-premises version, the feature for connecting and selecting the data between the databases looks a bit cumbersome, but I am not sure. The person who is using it takes a lot of time to design a data warehouse. When I ask him why is it taking this long, I get a response that this is something that he has to design, and there are different tools that are available. He has to write the ETL and design the warehouse according to the customer's requirement, which takes a lot of time.
Its visualization should be enhanced, and there should be a feature where you can easily create your custom data warehouse.
I have been using this solution for approximately seven years.
It is very stable. It is much stronger than any other solution that I've seen till now. I have heard that Microsoft's solution goes down, but Oracle is very stable.
Scalability is available. It depends on how you want to scale. Right now, we want to define our custom databases and custom warehouse. Therefore, we are creating customer data warehouses, and accordingly, we are designing our dashboards in a custom application. You can also connect it with any third-party software.
They are very good. We are on support right now, and they are providing support whenever we need it. They provide prompt support through their portal.
It is straightforward. Basically, if you look at the technical part of it, it is very simple. You can just follow a step-by-step process, and you can easily finish it.
It is reasonable, but it depends on how you're going to use it. There are no costs in addition to the standard licensing fees.
I would rate Oracle OBIEE an eight out of ten.
We are a system implementer and Oracle OBIEE is one of the products that we provide to our clients.
The most valuable feature is the visualization.
The data warehousing, data storage, and data wrangling are all features that are in there, and it's one of the better products out there.
A good thing is that for large datasets, it's very stable, especially when you have an Oracle database.
I would like to see the data wrangling features enhanced.
This product is not easy to use and there is a steep learning curve.
I have been using Oracle OBIEE for three years.
The latest release of this product is very good. However, I don't know how well integrated it is with products that are non-Oracle.
I would rate this solution a seven out of ten.
