Our main use case for One Identity Safeguard is privileged access management, where we need to secure control and monitor highly sensitive privileged accounts.

We use One Identity Safeguard for password storage and management for all privileged accounts, including admin accounts and service accounts. We also use it for Just-in-Time privileged access to provide the least privilege access possible for users.

One Identity Safeguard offers excellent features such as smart session auditing and forensics, transparent session proxy, password injection with no exposure, and real-time command and video blocking.

We rely most on smart session logging, smart session auditing, and forensics, which are valuable for our day-to-day tasks, along with password injection, which helps us securely pull passwords and automatically inject them into sessions, enhancing our security and aiding in auditing.

Regarding session proxy, One Identity Safeguard can sit on the network similar to a router, remaining completely transparent to both the user and the destination server while silently managing and injecting passwords and recording sessions in the background.

One Identity Safeguard has positively impacted our organization by contributing to a significant drop in compliance and audit overhead, aiding in the preparation of security audits that were previously chaotic, making the process much simpler now, and improving operational efficiency and admin satisfaction.

One Identity Safeguard could be improved by providing a unified management experience, as historically it has been split into logical units, and it would be beneficial if they could provide out-of-the-box reports and visualization, addressing the high resource overhead for privileged analytics.

Regarding One Identity Safeguard's AI capabilities, I believe they are still in the transformation phase, particularly with session monitoring, and once implemented fully, the advanced role mining and peer group analysis provided will help us improve further.

I cannot provide feedback on the accuracy and reliability of One Identity Safeguard's AI capabilities because we are not currently using the AI version; we may be deploying it next year.

I have been using One Identity Safeguard for more than six years.

In my experience, One Identity Safeguard is stable.

One Identity Safeguard's scalability works effectively in our large organization, as it successfully handles everything we need.

The customer support for One Identity Safeguard is very good, providing timely responses based on the SLA, with high-priority tickets receiving responses within an hour. I would rate the customer support around eight.

Before switching to One Identity Safeguard, we were using Thycotic Server, which was not as user-friendly, leading us to switch to One Identity Safeguard.

The deployment of One Identity Safeguard was very quick, taking only one or two days.

The deployment affected our privileged users smoothly, as we transitioned from another solution where users adapted quickly due to One Identity Safeguard being user-friendly.

We provided training for users that took approximately one week, plus one month of training for administrators, which was very helpful for getting everyone on board.

Before choosing One Identity Safeguard, we evaluated CyberArk, but it was more costly, which influenced our decision to consider One Identity Safeguard due to its lower cost.

My advice for others considering One Identity Safeguard is to define the architecture early, as it will be helpful, and to consider using One Identity Manager alongside it, as they can integrate effectively. I would rate this solution an eight overall.

I have been working with Safeguard by One Identity platform for the last one year, which is the PAM solution. We are using it as a Privileged Access Management solution as a point of security, as the first point of security towards managing PAM and PIM. We use it for securely managing privileged credentials, controlling administration access, and monitoring privileged sessions. We also monitor the vaults for compliance of the logs, which have been forwarded to our SIEM platform for further security controls and monitoring.

We use it for our privileged sessions, which has been acting as a centralized password vaulting and automated credential rotation platform. The automated credential rotation feature is the best feature I have used, and I have never seen it in different products as of now.

The onboarding was seamless. We have onboarded approximately 500 to 1000 users to the PIM. Certain users have certain accesses that need to be limited over specific time frames and as per their administrative requirements. This has been managed through that platform, and we have not observed any kind of issues.

Secure Remote Access feature is for our hybrid and remote employees, safeguarding our environment from external threat actors and preventing attackers from trying to access our network by using this Remote Access Privileged Access feature.

The integration was quite easy. We have FortiGate and FortiClient VPN in place, and it has been a seamless integration with this platform, enabling us to get access to the Remote Access feature over OneLogin. We are now managing and getting access to our critical systems by using the jump host available with this feature.

This integration has improved our enhanced security. It has been acting as a centralized vault which reduces our risk of credential theft, misuse of credentials, and prevents compromised hosts and privileged accesses to our critical hosts through this integration.

I would rate this at eight.

The features I find most valuable are the password vaulting and the auto-rotation features like password security complexities and the OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities. It is suggested to rotate the password into certain time frames which are recommended by the security team, and this has been performed by using this application. We have been monitoring session monitoring via the SIEM tool. These logs have been forwarded there. MFA integration is also available, which has been helped by One Identity. We have managed OneLogin and One Identity implementations into our organization, and these real-time privilege alerts and vault alerts are being monitored. These are quite valuable things for us.

The features I liked the most about Safeguard by One Identity are the password vaulting and the automatic password rotation feature. MFA integration with the OneLogin platform was seamless as the organization is the same for them. Detailed audit logs are also available while clearing our audits. While troubleshooting, we need those audit logs, which have been forwarded over the SIEM, with reports sent to the admin team to get those reviewed if there are any certain changes made by the team which are not known to them.

Privileged users and systems are getting protected by using these solutions, and all privileged users access this portal with their credentials quite easily. It has been eliminating their overhead to manage this manually or access manually. Admin overhead gets reduced due to it, and the overall efforts are reduced.

There were no negatives observed. All observations were positives like the self-service access granted to users. Users can request privileged access to the portal, reducing dependencies on administration for every request. Built-in approval workflows are also available, so all these efforts have been reduced from manual ones.

I would like to highlight a couple of points, which are UI modernization. In the new world of AI, we are thinking about how AI can be helpful for detection capabilities in PAM solutions and easier reporting flexibility. There should be a chatbot feature in Safeguard by One Identity so we can easily find out the SOPs and documentations. By using chatbots, we can directly ask queries to them, and they can respond with the solution or steps.

The chatbot is the only suggestion I have as of now.

I have not observed any stability issues.

As of now, we have implemented it for more than 250 users, and there have been no issues observed. It has been scalable.

The setup was quite simple and easy for us, with help from the support team, which has been quite helpful for us in implementing this feature.

The vendor support was with us during the implementation phase. They helped us with the initial implementation and all of the documentations.

For end users, we have rolled out SOPs on how to manage and access the tools which are in the environment and critical servers. The SOPs have been built for that. For management, training sessions have been introduced by this vendor like OneLogin.

The team was there to support us in terms of integrations.

This is our first PAM solution.

The setup was quite simple and easy for us, and getting help from the support team, which has been quite helpful for us in implementing this feature.

Regarding the setup, it was quite easy and intuitive for us to get to know how we can onboard it. All the SOPs and the documentations are available on their portal, so it was easy.

The vendor support was with us during the implementation phase. They helped us with the initial implementation and all of the documentations.

This has been integrated with our SIEM platform, which is the central monitoring platform for the SOC environment for cybersecurity. The team has built certain use cases related to the threat environment for abnormality detection, unusual logins, and false logins. Such use cases have been built into the SIEM platform. This is the external integration.

The integration into the SIEM platform was supported by the syslog method, which has forwarded these logs. It was supported so that all of these details have been transferred to the SIEM easily, and all the fields and logs have been mapped as per the supported mechanism.

It took approximately three months to go into production.

I was not part of the admin team evaluating alternate solutions, so I am unable to answer this question. I am the user of this product as of the date.

Regarding the usability and functionality, the UI is quite intuitive and simple to handle for new users. Whenever new users are getting access to it, with the help of the documentations which are cleaner in format and easy to access, all of the things are in place with the help of the initial dashboards. We get to know what all of the functionalities are there.

While considering Safeguard by One Identity, customers can do the POCs if they want to, but however, in terms of feature-wise, it is a good product to have. It has all of the features required for a PAM solution. I rate this solution at eight out of ten.

I have been using One Identity Safeguard for the past three years. One Identity Safeguard is one of our champion PAM tools that our organization uses. We started using One Identity Safeguard for our very premium accounts and clientele accounts where there were a lot of cyber threats or cybersecurity issues.

With our privileged accounts, the main issue we face is doing any sort of integration through API, as that becomes very susceptible to threat attacks. We are using PAM tools during our API integration to ensure security.

There is one thing that we are currently focusing on, which is detecting behaviors or threat behaviors to improve our analysis of threat detection.

As I mentioned earlier, this past trend analysis of all these threat attacks, flagging up the red issues, is something very good and happens in a proactive manner. One Identity Safeguard has definitely strengthened our operational security because what they do is combine your password with a secure solution and analyze any deviations such as unusual password activity.

One Identity Safeguard is a game changer for us, especially for rapid business expansion and building trust with our clients.

The only thing that we are looking for is to reduce the false alarming in the system to better analyze genuine concerns.

I need more improvement on the product trials and the signup features. Easing the initial deployment would benefit new users. We have requested that real-time privileged threat analytics be made very customizable to the specific business and IT environments.

I have been using One Identity Safeguard for the past three years.

I will give a stability rating of more than 90 percent for One Identity Safeguard, as I have never seen it crash or slow down during updates.

We have seen enormous productivity enhancement, measured through client feedback, with our ratings never dropping below 4.2.

We are always in touch with customer care, which is available 24/7, and issues are resolved through a ticketing solution very efficiently.

We were using a PAM solution from Automation Anywhere but switched due to issues with their licensing and lack of support.

For us, it took three to four months because we had multiple layers of negotiation regarding pricing and licensing.

For those who manage it, I think about one to two days of training is required, and existing users can use it within a few hours.

It was pretty seamless for them; this solution does not feel like a burden to them and they did not have to compromise their existing routines.

I would say the pricing was a bit on the higher side, but we had a good rapport that led to a favorable pricing model.

We have not been able to evaluate other options due to time constraints given by one of our clients.

One Identity Safeguard is a one-stop solution for all your privileged account management needs, and I recommend experiencing it before making a decision. My recommendation is to choose One Identity Safeguard for a long, secure, sustainable future in managing privileged accounts. I gave this review an overall rating of 9 out of 10.

My main use case for One Identity Safeguard is that it serves as a secure, strong PAM solution, and we are using it for PAM authentication.

In daily work, we use One Identity Safeguard for privilege access management, including secure PAM authentication, password vaulting, access request approval, session monitoring, and automatic password rotation for privileged accounts and service servers.

Apart from PAM authentication, we also use One Identity Safeguard for secure privileged session management, auditing, compliance, tracking, and centralized control for critical administrative accounts. It helps to improve security, accountability, and operational efficiency in daily infrastructure management.

One Identity Safeguard has improved our organization's security posture by providing centralized privileged access management, secure password vaulting, and session monitoring. It has helped to reduce manual password handling, improve compliance and audit tracking, and increase accountability for privileged access activities. Overall, it enhances operational security, streamlines access management, and reduces risks related to privileged accounts.

We have seen improvements in multiple areas. It helped reduce risks related to privileged account misuse by enforcing secure password management and session monitoring. We also saved operational time through automated password rotation and centralized access control. From a compliance perspective, auditing and session recording made it easier during security reviews and audit processes, improving overall accountability and traceability.

One Identity Safeguard offers several strong features for PAM. The best ones are password vaulting, automatic password rotation, privileged session monitoring and recording, role-based access control, and approval workflows. I also appreciate the centralized log management, auditing and compliance reporting, and integration with Active Directory and enterprise environments. Features such as session playback, real-time monitoring, and REST API support are very useful for daily administration and security operations.

The feature that has had the biggest impact on my daily operations is the password vaulting and automatic password rotation. It has significantly improved security by eliminating manual password sharing and reducing the risk of unauthorized access. It also saves operational time because administrators can securely request access through One Identity Safeguard without knowing the actual password. Session monitoring and auditing also help a great deal during troubleshooting and compliance reviews.

One additional advantage is that it provides centralized control and complete audit visibility for privileged access activities.

One Identity Safeguard is a strong PAM solution, but there are some areas for improvement. The initial deployment and integration process can be complex in large enterprise environments. The user interface and reporting can be improved to make administration and troubleshooting easier. More simplified integration with cloud platforms and third-party tools would also help.

One Identity Safeguard is a stable and reliable PAM solution in our experience. We have seen good performance with minimal downtime, especially for password vaulting, session monitoring, and privileged access workflows. It handles enterprise environments well when properly configured and maintained.

One Identity Safeguard is highly scalable and works well for enterprise environments. It supports scaling through clustering, distributed architecture, and high availability options, which helps handle growing numbers of privileged accounts, sessions, and users efficiently. In our experience, it has managed increasing workloads and integration without major performance issues.

Customer support has generally been good in our experience. The support team is knowledgeable and helpful, especially for One Identity Safeguard's standard deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting issues. Response times are usually reasonable, although complex enterprise-level issues can sometimes take longer to resolve and require escalation.

Earlier, we were using a more manual approach along with basic privileged account management processes. We moved to One Identity Safeguard to improve centralized privileged access control, password vaulting, session monitoring, compliance, and overall security management in a more scalable and enterprise-ready way.

The initial deployment of One Identity Safeguard took a few weeks, including setup, integration with Active Directory, policy configuration, onboarding asset accounting, testing, and user access validation. The timeline mainly depended on the environment size and security requirements.

One Identity Safeguard has been integrated with Active Directory, cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure, and various Windows and Linux servers for privileged access management. It also supports integration with enterprise applications, SIEM, log monitoring tools, and automation workflows to improve security and centralize access control.

The integrations were manageable overall, especially with Active Directory and standard Windows and Linux environments. Cloud integration with AWS and Azure required additional planning and configuration, but the documentation and available connectors helped. Some advanced integration and custom workflows were more complex and required careful testing and coordination with security and infrastructure teams.

A moderate level of training was required initially, mainly for administrators handling deployment, policy management, integration, and troubleshooting. For end-users, only basic guidance was needed for the access request and password retrieval workflows. Overall, the team adapted quickly after hands-on usage.

We have seen a positive return on investment. One Identity Safeguard helped reduce the manual effort for password management and privileged access handling, which saves operational time for administrators. It also improved compliance and audit readiness, reducing time spent during security reviews. While it did not directly reduce headcount, it improved efficiency and centralized control and reduced security risks related to privileged accounts.

One Identity Safeguard is positioned as an enterprise-grade PAM solution, so the cost is on the higher side.

During the evaluation phase, we also looked at other PAM solutions such as CyberArk, BeyondTrust, and Delinea. We compared them on security features, integration, deployment complexity, session monitoring, password vaulting, scalability, and overall operational requirements before selecting One Identity Safeguard.

The deployment was relatively smooth with minimal disruption for privileged users. Initially, users needed some adaptation to the access request and approval workflow. After onboarding and training, the process became streamlined and improved overall security.

The integration improved operational efficiency and security by centralizing privileged access management, reducing manual password handling, and improving visibility through auditing and session monitoring. It also helps streamline access workflows across multiple platforms and environments.

The advice would be to properly plan the PAM implementation before deployment, especially around privileged account discovery, access policies, integration, and user onboarding. Start with the critical systems first and then gradually expand across the environment. Also, involve security, infrastructure, and compliance teams early in the process. I have given this review an overall rating of ten.

My main use case for One Identity Safeguard is for privileged access management to control, monitor, and secure access to critical systems, servers, and applications used by administrators and IT teams.

A quick specific example of how I use it for privileged access management in my environment is that when an administrator needs access to a critical server, they request access through One Identity Safeguard instead of using shared credentials. The system grants time-bound, approved access, rotates the password automatically after the session, and records the entire activity.

The best features One Identity Safeguard offers include Privileged Password Vaulting as the first one. The strongest features are Session Recording and Password Vaulting with rotation and Just-in-Time Access, which together give strong control and visibility and audit readiness.

The Session Recording feature specifically helps my team and makes things easier for audits or investigations by giving a clear, time-stamped playback of privileged activities. It removes guesswork, speeds up audits, and ensures full accountability for admin actions.

One Identity Safeguard has positively impacted my organization by improving our security posture, eliminating shared privileged credentials, increasing visibility into admin activity, and making compliance audits faster and more reliable.

One Identity Safeguard could be improved by simplifying the user interface and initial configuration process, especially for first-time users. More customizable reporting and clear in-app guidance would also help teams onboard faster and get deeper insights without additional effort.

I have been using One Identity Safeguard for about one year.

One Identity Safeguard is very stable and can handle the workload easily; I have not seen any downtime.

One Identity Safeguard scales well as the environment grows. It handles increasing numbers of privileged accounts, sessions, and cloud targets without performance issues, making it suitable for expanding and hybrid infrastructure.

Customer support has been responsive and knowledgeable, being effective at resolving technical issues.

The integration with my cloud environment and infrastructure systems was moderately easy. Core cloud and infrastructure integrations were straightforward with proper documentation, while fine-tuning policies and access workflows required some initial effort. Once configured, the integrations have been stable and reliable.

Administrators required moderate training to understand configuration, policies, and workflows, while end users needed minimal training since access requests and approvals are straightforward. Overall, onboarding was manageable with some initial guidance.

I have seen a return on investment through reduced audit effort and fewer security incidents related to privileged access, along with significant time savings for IT and security teams by automating access control and password management.

My experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing is that pricing is on the higher side, but aligns with the security and compliance value it provides. Setup costs were mainly related to initial configuration and training, and licensing was straightforward.

I evaluated other options such as CyberArk and BeyondTrust before choosing One Identity Safeguard.

User feedback has been generally positive around the solution's security and session recording and access control capabilities. However, some users have mentioned that the interface and initial learning curve could be more intuitive, especially for new or non-specialist users.

My advice for others looking into using One Identity Safeguard is to clearly define your privileged access use cases and policies before implementation. My main use case for One Identity Safeguard is as our centralized privileged access management, which is the PAM system, to safely store administrative passwords and also restrict temporary access and record high-risk sessions.

Whenever our third-party vendor or any internal team engineer needs temporary administrative access to fix any kind of database or One Identity Safeguard issues, a timed credential that automatically expires is issued. The entire troubleshooting session is recorded for security.

The best features One Identity Safeguard offers include secure credential vaulting, live session recording and playback, and just-in-time access workflows that prevent engineers from having permanent admin rights.

I find myself relying most on the live session recording feature. Being able to look up a specific command used during an administrative session and jump directly to that video timestamp makes finding security or operational mistakes very quickly, which is valuable for us.

One Identity Safeguard has positively impacted our organization in many ways by providing privileged access security and improving compliance. The overall access management, the better visibility we are getting into user accounts, and the better compliance controls are helping us in many ways.

I think the initial setup of One Identity Safeguard could be more simplified, and the dashboard customization could also be improved. Apart from this, the feature sets and the efficiency of the solution are very outstanding.

The biggest breakthrough was that it saved our time, and the deployment was very smooth, with the vendor team helping us significantly.

We have seen a great return on investment with One Identity Safeguard due to its automation and AI capabilities.

For the end-user training, we provided just a few hours of training, and they started using the solution without needing much training. For the solution management, we provided three to four weeks of training properly so they could manage it easily. Now we are able to handle it smoothly.

We have not evaluated other options before choosing One Identity Safeguard.

I would advise anyone looking for or considering One Identity Safeguard to carefully map out your asset hierarchy and account discovery rule before doing the main rollout. Spend time grouping your servers and target databases logically on paper first, and after that, you can go for the deployment.

We have integrated One Identity Safeguard directly into our DevOps. Thanks to its API-first design, we hook it up into tools such as HashiCorp Vault, allowing our automated build system to securely pull hardcoded secrets and API keys dynamically during deployment.

The integration with our DevOps tools was very smooth and easy.

The feedback I have had from users regarding the solution's usability and functionality has been very positive.

One Identity Safeguard provides great features with a smooth process and a very good amount of stability, so there is no need to improve as of now, but it might be required in the future.

Regarding deployment, we have not faced any disruptive issues; it was very smooth for our privileged users, and after a short initial adjustment, they were able to access the system through One Identity Safeguard without issues, thanks to training and clear communication that minimized disruptions.

The training requirement was very minimal, taking less than one week for training the employees, and once they had a good amount of knowledge about One Identity Safeguard, they were ready to go.

We have seen a good amount of return on investment, saving our employees time and money while providing security; it has helped us reduce manual efforts by around 30 to 40 percent.

The experience with the pricing, setup cost, and licensing was straightforward, and the sales team was very helpful during the procurement and implementation of the solution, making it a great experience.

One Identity Safeguard has been the only solution used since day one.

For any organization, whether mid-size or large, looking into using One Identity Safeguard, it will be a really good solution for managing accessibility to critical devices with great security features and automation. Planning deployment carefully and understanding access requirements is essential, so start with the most critical systems first and then go for the less critical ones. My main use case for Safeguard by One Identity is privileged identity access management, session monitoring, and password management.

In my day-to-day work, we onboard the most powerful accounts and privileged accounts across the applications, platforms, and network elements into the PAM system, which is Safeguard by One Identity, and it has the inbuilt capability that supports session management, password management, and analytics.

Safeguard by One Identity offers simple web GUI, easy onboarding and management, and less complex architecture as its best features.

The web GUI and easy onboarding help my team because even less trained people can easily navigate it, and trained individuals can start using the tool easily without requiring any development or additional skills; it is easy to navigate and work on.

Safeguard by One Identity has positively impacted my organization, as in the past, we were using TPAM, the older product from the same vendor of the Fab solution, but this is a new version, a new generation tool which supports most of the new version products and new protocols, and it works well.

Safeguard by One Identity has been built most of the time to support the most recent products and versions in the environment, but sometimes in real-time scenarios, companies might be running with legacy systems or applications; during that time, you might need to build a custom solution that is not flexible enough, and I think additional efforts are needed to build solutions to support legacy systems.

I chose a rating of seven because I believe the product still has improvements that need to be made in terms of supportability for new applications, such as SaaS solutions, and it does not have any native method of managing cloud-based applications, which I believe is an area to improve.

Regarding Safeguard by One Identity's AI capabilities, I do not believe it has really good governance and security; I think it probably needs to be upgraded to incorporate all AI agents or AI-specific security-related features which have not been covered in the current version.

I have been using Safeguard by One Identity for more than five years.

In terms of Safeguard by One Identity's reliability, I believe it is fine, and we do not see any major problems with it.

Since switching to this newer version, it improved compliance, the onboarding time reduced significantly, and it supports API calls and automation processes, so overall onboarding time has been significantly reduced.

I would advise others looking into using Safeguard by One Identity to consider it if they are looking for a budget-friendly option, easy installation, and quick setup; however, if companies require many custom solutions and support for legacy environments, it might not be a good fit, and they may need to explore other options. If any environment is trying to work with newer tools or AI-specific protections, this tool is probably not evolved to that level, so I believe you need to assess your requirements first. I would rate this product a 7.5 out of 10.

I use One Identity Safeguard mainly for managing and securing privileged access like controlling admin accounts and monitoring sensitive sessions.
