A stable and user-friendly solution for analytics and planning
Pros and Cons
  • "The SKU, the story build all are user- friendly. For the story build one just has to drag and drop it. And for the table, you just need some sort of selections and everything there."
  • "There is plenty of room for improvement. They have different products, and you need to integrate all of them to have one functionality. For example, data extraction happens in Datasphere. Then it would be best if you had some connection between the Datasphere and the SAP Analytics Cloud to get the data, as this is causing headaches sometimes. The knowledge base and Jedox also could be more meaningful. I have tried to search for some specific knowledge base and technology base, and I didn't find them. I have learned it by trial and error. There is room to improve the integrations between the different products. The AFS, and the Data action, need improvement. Sometimes they release new tools and updates, but not in my area."

What is our primary use case?

The solution is used for planning and budgeting.

It is a stable product. I rate the stability a nine out of ten.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

It is a scalable solution. Fourteen consultants are using the SAP Cloud for planning and budgeting and are impressed with it as they did not introduce any other tool. I rate the scalability a nine out of ten.

How are customer service and support?

Since it is a stable tool we did not have to contact the technical support team.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is a little difficult. It takes time to learn about the Datasphere and the SEB. Actually, I have joined an ongoing project, so I didn't know how much time it would take.

High availability, integrates well, but lacking features
Pros and Cons
  • "The most valuable feature of SAP Analytics Cloud is its integration with SAP."
  • "SAP Analytics Cloud should improve the dashboard."

What is most valuable?

The most valuable feature of SAP Analytics Cloud is its integration with SAP.

What needs improvement?

SAP Analytics Cloud should improve the dashboard.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using SAP Analytics Cloud for approximately two years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The stability of SAP Analytics Cloud is good.

I rate the stability of SAP Analytics Cloud a nine out of ten.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

We are using SAP Analytics Cloud 24 hours a day.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I have used other solutions in the past. Microsoft Power BI has more powerful features, such as a dashboard, overall management, and maintenance.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup of SAP Analytics Cloud can take a couple of hours.

What other advice do I have?

I recommend that companies using SAP consider not investing in separate analytics solutions in order to fully leverage the benefits of integration. This is because SAP utilizes the same database for administrative functions, such as Oracle for the ART. Consequently, the database itself does not offer significant advantages, as a connector is established between Oracle and other systems. While real-time integration is achievable, it does not adhere to the standard approach. Specifically, SAP S4HANA employs the HANA database for analytics while utilizing the Oracle database for ERP purposes. Therefore, it would be more beneficial for companies using SAP S4HANA to opt for SAP Analytics Cloud.

I rate SAP Analytics Cloud a seven out of ten.

You don't need much technical skill to set it up.
Pros and Cons
  • "It's easy to connect Analytics Cloud with other SAP solutions, and it's also effortless to deploy. You don't need much technical skill to set it up. It's as easy as setting up a tablet. I said tablet before. It's very easy to actually set up."
  • "SAP could add more templates to the platform."

What is our primary use case?

Analytics Cloud integrates your system with a platform, takes data from it, and interprets those data. We have two clients using it now.

What is most valuable?

It's easy to connect Analytics Cloud with other SAP solutions, and it's also effortless to deploy. You don't need much technical skill to set it up. It's as easy as setting up a tablet. I said tablet before. It's very easy to actually set up.

What needs improvement?

SAP could add more templates to the platform.

For how long have I used the solution?

We started using SAP Analytics in 2020, then moved the system to Azure. We decided to also use Analytics Cloud as the reporting tool. Analytics Cloud is similar to Tableau, Domo, etc.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Analytics Cloud is a highly stable solution.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Analytics Cloud is scalable because it's cloud-based.

How was the initial setup?

Setting up Analytics Cloud is straightforward. If you use SAP solutions, you can deploy it in a week because there are templates in the system. There are reporting templates you can leverage, but you can also build a custom template in the system. It depends on the number of reports, but it shouldn't take more than a week or two.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The license is very cheap

What other advice do I have?

I rate SAP Analytics Cloud nine out of 10. It's a very useful tool.

A great solution that is easy to use, publish and understand
Pros and Cons
  • "Easy to use."
  • "Sometimes we have difficulty connecting to a SharePoint list."

What is our primary use case?

We have a partner relationship with SAP Analytics Cloud and use an internal domain.

What needs improvement?

The product could be improved by establishing connectivity with SharePoint because SharePoint has a similar data set that could be valuable to end users and will assist in improving the visualization of a dataset. Currently, we can connect with different major databases. However, sometimes we have difficulty connecting to a SharePoint list.

For how long have I used the solution?

We have been using this solution for a year and a half.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The solution is scalable.

I rate this product a nine out of ten because it is easy to use, publish, and understand.

Good for planning and integrating with SAP systems, but needs better integration with non-SAP systems, big data, and social media
Pros and Cons
  • "Planning and integration are the most valuable features. It is useful for planning, and it is useful for integrating with on-prem or cloud SAP solutions."
  • "Its integration or connectivity with non-SAP systems, big data, and social media, such as YouTube, LinkedIn, et cetera, can be improved. This is where SAP has limited features as compared to other solutions."

What is our primary use case?

We are using it for enterprise-wide analytics. We have on-prem as well as cloud deployments.

What is most valuable?

Planning and integration are the most valuable features. It is useful for planning, and it is useful for integrating with on-prem or cloud SAP solutions.

What needs improvement?

Its integration or connectivity with non-SAP systems, big data, and social media, such as YouTube, LinkedIn, et cetera, can be improved. This is where SAP has limited features as compared to other solutions.

There is very little documentation. They could provide additional training and resources.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using SAP Analytics Cloud for the last two years, but overall, I have been using analytics for the last 15 years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

We found it to be pretty stable over the last two years.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

We hope so. We have not reached a level to be able to say how good it is and how quickly scalable it is, but we believe that it would be scalable. I do not have a proof point to say that it is 100% scalable.

How are customer service and support?

So far, we've been able to resolve most of the issues on our own. Their support is average. It is not great, but it is also not bad.

How was the initial setup?

Its setup is easy.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Its price is slightly on the higher side.

What other advice do I have?

I would rate it a seven out of 10.

A flexible, stable, and comprehensive BI solution that provides reporting, planning, and predictive analytics
    Pros and Cons
    • "It is a comprehensive BI solution that provides reporting, planning, and predictive analytics in one solution. You don't have to buy three different products. It is very flexible. It can be implemented very quickly. It has a lot of out-of-the-box scenarios that you can use for quick deployment."
    • "It should have the flexibility for scoping the story and models. When you use it in a three-layer architecture, you struggle with the fact that you usually have just one SAP Analytics Cloud tenant, and you have to switch the connections, which might be an issue for bigger developments. For the development role, there should be an option to switch between development and production scenarios."

Their support is fine. Its information and support pages are also very organized.

    How was the initial setup?

It is a cloud solution. You don't have to install it. You just buy the license and activate the users.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Its licensing is on a monthly basis.

I would recommend this solution. Generally, their roadmap is full of good innovations. They focus a lot on things that can be improved and bring the improvements that you don't even realize that you need. They are great.

A user-friendly and flexible solution that combines BI and predictive analytics
    Pros and Cons
    • "It's so user-friendly."
    • "I would also like to have more advanced features for predictive analytics."

What is our primary use case?

We use it for all our reporting right now. Everything is happening in SAP, and all dashboards are there, and all data comes through in real-time. We have thought management there, and Azure Operations Management is dependent upon SAP.

    What is most valuable?

It's so user-friendly. The configuration is done by the user, not by an IP or anybody. It's also very flexible.

    What needs improvement?

I would like to have some functionality when they have a live connection with our BW. Some of the functionalities SAP promotes, like integration, aren't available to me. I would also like to have more advanced features for predictive analytics.

For how long have I used the solution?

We have been using SAP Analytics Cloud for a few months.

How are customer service and technical support?

I'm not satisfied with technical support because they're taking some time. Sometimes I think they could be faster.

    How was the initial setup?

It's cloud-based, and no installation is required. Deployment time and the number of personnel largely depends on the project. The implementation time was less than three months, and I think it was quite easy.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I think we have 50 active licenses. Right now, I think it's okay, and it's fine for us. It's not that costly as such for the time being.

What other advice do I have?

I would recommend this product to potential customers.

On a scale from one to ten, I would give SAP Analytics Cloud an eight.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

    Public Cloud

If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?
