Robust system consistently elevates data visualization and seamlessly updates with user-driven advancements
Power BI is a general-use visualization system. I can express the performance of our network through high-level key performance indicators. It allows me to show detailed improvements in quality and safety and patient experience. I create improvement dashboards for task forces and work teams. I have built analytic dashboards that guide analytics, enabling research and dataset manipulation.

Seamless integration, collaborative features, and enhances data exploration
There are several areas for improvement in SAP Analytics Cloud. Firstly, features available in SAP Lumira are missing in SAP Analytics Cloud. Secondly, the predictive analytics functions, although promising, are currently only suitable for Proof of Concepts (POCs) and not for industrial-scale use. Lastly, the pricing model for the planning functionality is quite high and presents an entry barrier.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"My understanding is that the initial setup is pretty easy."
"Power BI pricing is generally considered more affordable than Tableau."
"The most valuable feature of this solution is real-time report tracking."
"The most valuable aspect of Microsoft Power BI in my field is the insights it provides from analyzing data. Sometimes, these insights go beyond what traditional analysis can reveal due to the large volume of data involved. In terms of improving our data analysis process, it starts with identifying data sources, followed by cleaning and filtering out irrelevant data. Then, we categorize and structure the data to achieve the best visualization and insights. Regarding Power BI's integration with other tools, although we haven't implemented it ourselves, it's known that Power BI can integrate with systems like SAP or ERP software, which could enhance our analytics capabilities if needed."
"We have found the solution to be stable."
"Provides good data flow related to the container and control flow."
"Other people can access data much more easily than before. Its usability is the main advantage, people in the company are using it."
"The main feature I find valuable is the possibility to work with an extensive amount of data."
"One of the most outstanding features is being able to use the dashboard with a touch screen."
"SAP is very scalable."
"The product's native integration with SAP ERP systems is particularly valuable."
"Easy to use."
"The tool's most valuable features are the BI and planning functionalities. I value being able to integrate smart planning with BI for analysis. The solution is user-friendly."
"All of the modules that we used to have separately in our on-premises solution are now integrated into one platform."
"The most valuable features are the visualization and user-friendliness."
"It's so user-friendly."

Cons

"The integration with other solutions could be improved for reporting aspects."
"They are improving it all the time. What would be nice is if they could respond to feature requests more quickly. They can provide faster support for new features."
"Real-time data integration is an area for improvement."
"Lacks the ability to copy data from BI into PowerPoint."
"I'm missing collaborations functionality to operate or to work connected with multiple people on a data source or on virtualization. There should be more collaborations functions, such as in Confluence. We haven't explored the solution sufficiently in this area, but at this time it doesn't look sufficient."
"Real-time updating needs improvement."
"The integration in Microsoft BI could improve for other solutions, such as Oracle DB and PostgresSQL. Additionally, the reporting from the databases to Microsoft BI should be in real-time and the overall performance could be better."
"You do need to do some hard coding for certain things in Microsoft BI."
"The general management of this solution could be improved. The graphics or icons could also be improved to allow them to integrate with other environments on the web."
"I would also like to have more advanced features for predictive analytics."
"What should be improved in SAP Analytics Cloud is the speed of importing information and data, e.g. from SAP S/4HANA. Gathering the data from the main database takes a bit of time."
"There is plenty of room for improvement. They have different products, and you need to integrate all of them to have one functionality. For example, data extraction happens in Datasphere. Then it would be best if you had some connection between the Datasphere and the SAP Analytics Cloud to get the data, as this is causing headaches sometimes. The knowledge base and Jedox also could be more meaningful. I have tried to search for some specific knowledge base and technology base, and I didn't find them. I have learned it by trial and error. There is room to improve the integrations between the different products. The AFS, and the Data action, need improvement. Sometimes they release new tools and updates, but not in my area."
"They need more support for more languages, Python for example."
"The solution should include other scripting languages as well, such as Python."
"The main area that needs improvement is visualization."
"AI doesn't work as well with SAP live connections."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The solution's costs are quite reasonable given the range of features provided."
"Regarding cost, the initial investment wasn't too high, but ongoing licensing could add up."
"We pay for users who are publishing on the cloud. The desktop version is free. Its licensing is on a yearly basis."
"Once the trial period for the BI service is over, the cost is approximately $10 USD per user, per month, so it's quite reasonable."
"Microsoft BI for desktop is free to use, and you can download and use it."
"This solution came free, it was offered by Microsoft with our E3 license."
"The premium licensing is approximately $5,000 per month which is pretty expensive."
"Microsoft BI is free for the personal edition, but there is also a paid-for professional version."
"The platform is about 50% more expensive than Power BI."
"The pricing of this product is reasonable."
"Its pricing is okay as compared to its competitors."
"Its licensing is on a monthly basis."
"It is a bit expensive, but really worth it, especially if you are already using other SAP tools."
"The product is expensive."
"Its price is slightly on the higher side."
"It is not the most expensive one. You have to do the cost-of-ownership analysis and take a lot of things into consideration to come up with the conclusion that it is cheaper or not, but its price is reasonable. It provides value for money."
