I started using the solution during a phase of ransomware in Latin America. Suddenly, ransomware attacked every system, and various vendors began offering solutions that could stop it. That's when I went for SonicWall Capture Client.

The solution's valuable feature is having a broader scope of OS, it works with old systems as well
Pros and Cons
- "The solution serves as a very stable platform."
- "They should improve their user interface."
What is our primary use case?
What is most valuable?
The solution's valuable feature is having a broader scope of OS. Where other solutions work only with specific systems, Capture Client works with old systems as well. For example, it works swiftly with Windows 7, and many financial institutes still use that OS on ATMs. Thus, it becomes easier to deploy and sell.
What needs improvement?
The solution's management console looks a little bit old. They should improve their user interface.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using the solution for the last five years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?
The solution serves as a very stable platform.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
The solution works fine in terms of scalability in Latin America. For example, if a user buys fifty licenses for 100 users, they observe the utility and grow up on that number. Talking about a real case scenario, I sold 50 licenses to a customer and the number scaled up to 700 licenses in different ranges by the end of the year.
So, scalability is never an issue; we can add users easily.
How are customer service and support?
I have used the SonicWall support portal. I mainly use it for firewall issues. It's pretty good and very accessible.
How was the initial setup?
The setup was pretty straightforward.
What other advice do I have?
The solution is affordable and has an MSSP scenario for security. Also, it is easy to use and very effective. It works fine with old operating systems. The solution helps the workstation work faster, unlike other solutions that are heavy on the process.
I rate this solution as a ten.

Network Security Engineer at PT Wahana Piranti Teknologi
Intelligent and user-friendly with a modern UI; has a good rollback feature and knowledge base
Pros and Cons
- "Overall, what I love the most about SonicWall Capture Client is its management console. SonicWall Capture Client also has the intelligence to tell you which computer is online, what OS it uses, etc. I also found the rollback feature and SentinelOne integration valuable in SonicWall Capture Client. Rollback is a powerful feature of the solution because it's similar to locking your endpoint during an attack, so you won't have to pay the hackers, particularly during ransomware attacks. That feature in SonicWall Capture Client allows you to get back your endpoint or make your endpoint right again after an attack. I also like that it isn't complex to remove the engine error from the endpoint because you only have to provide the security key from SonicWall Capture Client, so the process is simple. It's not complex."
- "An area for improvement in SonicWall Capture Client is TenantCloud support. Suppose you want to implement SonicWall Capture Client. You'll have to register it on MySonicWall. Then once your SonicWall Capture Client license expires and you don't want to renew it, you can't delete it from your MySonicWall account, so that's an area for improvement."
What is our primary use case?
My use case for SonicWall Capture Client is implementing it for a company with around fifty thousand users on every endpoint device and server.

I'm an expert on endpoint security products such as Kaspersky, Malwarebytes, etc. SonicWall Capture Client is the best endpoint security product I've ever used, so I have no suggestion for additional features for SonicWall Capture Client.
For how long have I used the solution?
It's not been long since my company started working with SonicWall Capture Client as a distributor of SonicWall. My company uses the trial version for one month or thirty days to provide endpoint security to customers. It's a POC. The last time I used SonicWall Capture Client was three months ago.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
SonicWall Capture Client is a stable product. It's also a reliable product.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
SonicWall Capture Client is a very scalable product.
How are customer service and support?
My rating for the technical support and knowledge base for SonicWall Capture Client is five out of five because even when I called at midnight, the team helped me and provided me with solutions.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I've used a local antivirus called SmadAV before using SonicWall Capture Client, and SmadAV was a terrible product for me. It's a local antivirus solution here in Indonesia.
I'm handling Fortinet and Palo Alto for endpoint security in my current company, but I'm still learning about those two solutions. Of the three solutions, SonicWall Capture Client, Palo Alto, and Fortinet, I love SonicWall Capture Client most because it has a beautiful, modern UI. My experience with SonicWall Capture Client is three years, so I find it user-friendly. Features-wise, on the other hand, Fortinet would win over SonicWall Capture Client because Fortinet has a lot more features than SonicWall Capture Client, and Fortinet also has more products than SonicWall.
How was the initial setup?
Setting up SonicWall Capture Client isn't very complex as it's user-friendly, similar to almost all SonicWall products. The initial setup for SonicWall Capture Client isn't as complicated as other solutions.
MySonicWall also contains a good knowledge base, so it's easy to set up
SonicWall Capture Client.
I'd rate the setup a four on a scale of one to five.
How long the deployment of SonicWall Capture Client takes depends on how many devices you want to implement it on. In my case, I only profiled the links and downloaded and installed the agent on my laptop. Then I checked the management console to ensure that my data matched the registered device information on SonicWall Capture Client, and that's it.
What about the implementation team?
I did the deployment of the SonicWall Capture Client myself.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
Here in Indonesia, SonicWall Capture Client costs five hundred thousand rupiahs for every endpoint. If I'm correct, you only have to pay the licensing fee, and there's no additional fee.
To me, the pricing for SonicWall Capture Client is four out of five.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
I've evaluated Kaspersky, Malwarebytes, Fortinet, and Palo Alto.
What other advice do I have?
I'm using an endpoint security solution from SonicWall called SonicWall Capture Client.
SonicWall has integrated with SentinelOne.
SonicWall Capture Client is deployed both on the cloud and on-premises. On-premises, SonicWall Capture Client is used with the firewall, then its management console is standalone.
I used the latest version of SonicWall Capture Client.
After deployment, SonicWall Capture Client doesn't require any maintenance.
The company I was with has thirty users of SonicWall Capture Client.
I'd recommend SonicWall Capture Client to others because it integrates with SentinelOne, and SentinelOne is number one in endpoint security. If you have SentinelOne, it's good, but having SentinelOne, then SonicWall Capture Client would be better.
My rating for SonicWall Capture Client is eight out of ten.
My company is a partner of SonicWall Capture Client.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
Hybrid Cloud

Consultant at a tech services company with 501-1,000 employees
Not mature enough, lacks stability and consumes a lot of storage
Pros and Cons
- "The initial setup is straightforward."
- "It takes technical support too long to resolve an issue."
What is our primary use case?
We are using the solution as an antivirus that is an endpoint protection system.
What is most valuable?
The solution has this very useful rollback feature, in which even if the system is infected by the worst malware or ransomware or anything, your data won't be lost. It will roll back to the previous version, the safest version. It's very handy to have in case of an attack.
The initial setup is straightforward.
The costs are very reasonable.
What needs improvement?
We realized that after deploying it, after installing the SonicWall Capture Client, there was a performance impact on the system. It used to consume a lot of storage and memory, and other resources. That isn't great. It's an aspect we hope gets fixed. It must consume less storage, less CPU, and other resources.
In general, the performance issue was the major problem. A user was not able to access his documents, the basic files and all, and that caused a major issue for him.
It takes technical support too long to resolve an issue.
For how long have I used the solution?
I've used the solution over the last 12 months or so.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
The stability isn't the best, as it can make the system run slow, which affects performance. It's not the number of users that affects it. However, we found that the process itself was consuming a lot of system resources.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
We originally procured the solution for 20 users, however, we are working on expanding it currently.
How are customer service and technical support?
We've dealt with technical support in the past. They are okay. However, it does seem to take quite a while to resolve issues. They need to resolve things faster. It shouldn't take so much time.
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup is not difficult or complex. It's straightforward and simple. A company should have no issues handling the process.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
The solution is a SaaS model. The licenses renew on a yearly basis. The pricing overall is quite good. However, we weren't very happy with the product itself and therefore don't know if it is worth it to spend the money we have on it.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
Before choosing this solution we didn't look into other options. We tested this product out with 20 users, however, it failed our testing requirements.
What other advice do I have?
We are a SonicWall partner.
I wouldn't recommend the product to others. It's not quite stable and not very mature yet.
I'd rate the solution at a four out of ten. We aren't very satisfied with its capabilities.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?
