PROS

Talend is cost-effective compared to other tools like Delphix, offering similar capabilities at a lower price point.
It offers wide integration capabilities with Salesforce, SAP, Oracle databases, PostgreSQL, and Jira.
The ability to generate code efficiently and integrate Java makes Talend flexible for diverse needs.
Automation of data loading processes reduces manual effort, improves data accuracy, and accelerates data availability for reporting.
Talend includes valuable features for master data management and offers extensive data DB components and cloud versions with TMC for data preparation and stewardship.

CONS

Talend Data Integration lacks concurrent licensing, requiring additional seat licenses as project headcount changes, leading to challenges in managing licenses effectively.
Unidentified bugs require follow-up with Talend for resolution, and critical updates can take time to implement.
Technical support needs improvement, and there is no local data center; everything is cloud-based, which might affect customer satisfaction.
The absence of a scheduler in the open-source version necessitates the use of external tools like Windows Scheduler for job management.
Processing large data volumes can consume significant resources, and the high license cost can be burdensome for small companies.

I'm very passionate about this solution because if you look at any other tool that costs around $200 - $300,000, like Delphix which costs you a million dollars, Talend is very cheap and is almost is at par with what others can do. There is one thing which Delphix does which Talend cannot do, but overall, I would say apart from that, if you're looking for a solution, you should give it a try.

Talend Data Integration has had a measurable impact on our organization by automating daily data loading processes, reducing manual effort by around three or four hours per day, improving data accuracy with error rates dropping by more than 70%, and enabling reporting teams to receive fresh data at least 50% faster for earlier and more confident decision-making.

Talend Data Integration has positively impacted my organization because it is used for master management data, which I think most other components lack, but Talend Data Integration has that capability for using master management data as standard data.

Flexibility is a key feature I appreciate about Talend Data Integration, especially the integration of Java within it and the ease of integrating with multiple source repositories such as GitHub and Bitbucket.

The product's integration with PostgreSQL and Jira has been helpful for us. Its performance is good. However, we do not use it for large data sets.

There are no concurrent licenses, they only have seat licenses on cloud. That's the whole challenge. For example, if in any project your headcount increases or decreases, you do not have that concurrence and you have a seat license, you run into challenges because you have to procure a few more licenses for getting the job done.

Talend Data Integration can be improved by reducing the license cost, as it is a bit high compared to other tools, which can be a burden for small-scale companies wanting to buy a license.

If I am designing something in Talend Data Integration, I cannot backtrack in the flow. For example, if I read data from a source and transform it before applying complex aggregation in the third step, I cannot join this data with the second step.

Sometimes there are bugs which are unidentified and we have to follow-up with the Talend team to resolve them. In a critical situation, it takes time for them to update patches.

Due to using the open-source version of Talend Data Integration, which lacks a scheduler, our current approach involves developing jobs in Talend, exporting them as Java packages, and utilizing an external scheduler, such as Windows Scheduler, to manage the scheduling process.

The tool's technical support needs to be better. It doesn't have a local data center but pushes everything to the cloud. They need to check in with customers to see if they're happy and how well the solutions work. They need to assign a customer success manager for the accounts they sell.
