I am trying to think about its advanced alerting features; we do not use it too much for that. We do get it to report through to our help desk system and if a threshold gets broken, then a ticket is cut immediately. We do not work too much with Grafana Enterprise Stack directly; we use the free version. Everything that we do, we develop ourselves, so we do not really deal with them too much. Grafana Enterprise Stack is quite difficult to improve upon because they bring new features and new dashboards and plugins and things at such a rate that we keep on having to look every couple of months to see what new features they have come out with, and then we try and integrate them to what we have got. Grafana Enterprise Stack is complex and not easy or simple. It would have been a lot simpler just to get a packaged product, but all of the packaged products we have looked at do not have the flexibility of measuring a whole environment. It takes a little while to get things to work because you have to sort of read the manual and try different things until you get it to work. Sometimes you have issues with things not working exactly how you want; there are holes in your data or the graph does not come out like you expect it. You have to massage it and enrich data and things like that to get it to work.
The layout is good, but I think it needs some enhancement based on my experience. I might not have gotten deeper to understand more details, but I believe it needs more improvement. Scalability and customization are great features of Grafana Enterprise Stack. It has good flexibility to make enhancements or customization within the module. I hope for enhancement within Grafana Enterprise Stack inside dockerization or containerization mechanisms such as Docker or Kubernetes. This improvement could increase customers significantly as most IT engineers worldwide use orchestration or containerization solutions. It would be beneficial to add documentation, especially official documentation for installation and plugins to work with orchestration tools or solutions.

I believe there are some areas for improvement in the product. Something that could be better is the time series functionality. If we choose a longer time range, it averages out some of the visibility, which actually suppresses the burst in the nature of traffic. That still needs to be looked into, or they might have addressed it, but we might have not figured out how to solve such problems.
Increased visibility would help improve the solution. Compared to other APM tools, Grafana Enterprise Stack supports all technologies, including AWS and Azure. If Grafana Enterprise Stack could display transaction queries in dashboard format similar to New Relic, it would provide more options and capabilities for users.
The connection between metrics, logs, and traces could be improved. Currently, one needs to ingest labels and timestamps for them to be connected, however, drilling down sometimes takes time. It would be beneficial to have a unified view for troubleshooting services.

I find Grafana really hard to configure. It's difficult to build the dashboard, and it's non-intuitive. In my opinion, it's very difficult to work with Grafana.
One area for improvement is if Grafana had its own data source. This would enhance its functionality. Additionally, integrating AI capabilities for automated self-healing and reduced manual interventions would be valuable.
In terms of what Grafana provides, it just provides the charting tools. Everything else is third-party. It's like Node-RED. Node-RED is free, and you can choose an application, but that application depends on the person who's supporting it. If they decide not to support it, then you're stuck. However, I believe that it can't be improved or changed because people have to make money and make a living from it. Nothing will ever be changed. It depends on the software. Same as Windward. Windward just decided it could not support a large number of customers, so it focused on high-income, low-volume clients. Whereas Node-RED has millions of followers and fantastic support, the same as Grafana. Grafana is partly free, but it's your problem. That's how all these companies work. If you're big and you pay a lot of money, they'll pay attention to you.

I have encountered occasional issues with false inputs or incorrect data in Grafana, but I am not sure whether these stem from the tool itself or our configuration. In terms of improvements, while Grafana serves our monitoring needs well, additional functions like enhanced application flow visualization could be beneficial for providing more comprehensive insights into our systems.

The tool needs to show only fewer updates.

The solution should include integration with Power BI.
