I use Cisco Prime Network Registrar to manage the WLC, wireless controller. In my organization, approximately 1,000 people work with Cisco Prime Network Registrar.
What is our primary use case?
What is most valuable?
The best features of Cisco Prime Network Registrar are that I can monitor all the controllers and access points. In the dashboard, I can see all the access points and controller.
What needs improvement?
The improvement I would like to see is related to licensing. Nowadays Cisco is forcing us to get licenses every three years. They launched new things on the license, calling them smart licenses, and they need to work on the licenses. Aruba takes the license only once, but Cisco asks multiple times to renew the licenses, and it is very costly. Apart from licensing, Cisco Prime Network Registrar is good.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using Cisco Prime Network Registrar for the last one and a half years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
Cisco Prime Network Registrar is a stable product.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
Regarding scalability, I would rate Cisco Prime Network Registrar a ten.

I rate the technical support for Cisco Prime Network Registrar an eight out of ten.
How would you rate customer service and support?
Positive
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
Overall, I am satisfied with Cisco Prime Network Registrar, but nowadays in the market, there are more features than Cisco Prime. I can see in Aruba WLC that it has more features than Cisco Prime Network Registrar.
My thoughts on the pricing for Cisco Prime Network Registrar is that it is expensive.
Cisco Prime Network Registrar is deployed on-premises, and we are using it on-premises. Now Aruba is giving a cloud-based solution.
What other advice do I have?
Regarding policy-based management in Cisco Prime Network Registrar, I did not use that. As for leveraging APIs with Cisco Prime Network Registrar, I have not used any APIs.
The importance of redundant configuration and failover capabilities in my network operations is highlighted by our use of a networking concept called GLBP for redundancy, and we are using HSRP as well. If you are talking about device redundancy or failover, we are doing the stack concept.
I purchased Cisco Prime Network Registrar through a partner purchase.
I would recommend Cisco Prime Network Registrar to other users, but it is expensive. I rate this product a nine out of ten.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
