The major use case for Dell Cloud Disaster Recovery is that if a request or customer needs to back up data and implement disaster recovery, which is mandatory in Egypt, all huge companies or small and medium companies have to implement a disaster recovery solution for their main site infrastructure data center.
What is our primary use case?
What is most valuable?
The product includes a compliance management feature. Through the Dell account manager, customization is made, as the automated orchestration feature in the product helps to minimize human error during the recovery process.
We send a Live Optics invitation to customers, and this file collects data from the customer, including input and output per second and the uses of capacity, disk, and core used in the environment.
We collect this data by the Live Optics tools and send this report to the account manager, who can size the solution after that.
The installation process for Dell Cloud Disaster Recovery is easy, and we already have the experience for installation and implementation. If we need any help, we have engineers in the distributor company in Egypt. We already have the Dell deployment option, which can be offered from day one from the Dell configurator, so implementation is not a problem.
What needs improvement?
A negative aspect of Dell Cloud Disaster Recovery is that it requires maintaining stock. In the Middle East, it takes much more time to get this product to the customer, between four and six months, which is a long time for the customer to wait. Products such as Data Domain, PowerStore, and PowerFlex all take much more time to bring to the Middle East. The only concern is the availability of stock in the Middle East.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been selling this product for approximately one year with a food and beverage company in Egypt, so I have been selling this product for a long time.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
The product is very, very, very stable. When talking about stability, the product is usually very stable.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
Dell Cloud Disaster Recovery is a scalable product. When speaking about scalability, they are scalable.
How are customer service and support?
The technical support from Dell Technologies is the best option. I would give a rating of ten out of ten when asked to rate support from zero to ten, where ten is the best.
How would you rate customer service and support?
Positive
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I have worked with disaster recovery with other vendors such as HP, Cisco, QNAP, and Iomega. Dell Cloud Disaster Recovery is better than Cisco and better than HP, but it cannot be compared in price and performance with a brand or vendor such as QNAP and Iomega when you compare Dell Cloud Disaster Recovery to those.
