What is our primary use case?
McAfee Web Protection is for our entire system, regardless of the brand. It is implemented in all systems through an agent.
It is an agent-based solution, with the agent installed on all systems.
We have anywhere between 35 and 40,000 nodes.
How has it helped my organization?
It is functional. It has reduced risk and downtime while also ensuring regulatory compliance, which is critical.
There will be no productivity enhancement, but it will indirectly enhance because it cannot be stopped at any time. If there is a problem, we can resolve it quickly, increasing the user's and customer's confidence.
What needs improvement?
I believe it is functioning satisfactorily. It is always possible to improve, but it is currently working satisfactorily.
When there is a fault and our customers or users have a problem, we must step in. Those configuration and fine-tuning tasks should be completed prior to release. Particularly in the case of a DLP solution. Because DLP is a customized solution, this is more relevant. There is a lot of customization, but even during the learning period, there is a learning curve.
The initial setup could be simplified, there is a learning curve during the implementation.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have worked with McAfee Web Protection for approximately, three to four years.
I would have been working with the latest version.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
McAfee Web Protection is a stable solution.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
McAfee Web Protection is scalable.
We have approximately 35,000 users in our organization who use this solution.
How are customer service and support?
Inspira provides both technical support and maintenance. They have a specialist, a special engineer, who handles it directly, and our bank has a team as well.
Inspira provides direct support, and they may also contact McAfee.
There are various levels of support available.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
We used cloud services for testing purposes. We used Amazon cloud services.
Depending on the solution, there are a variety of options. There are several options such as Endpoint, WAF, NAC, and SIEM are currently available. A variety of solutions are implemented.
It was a third-party implementation by Inspira.
McAfee also provides an endpoint solution. McAfee's DLP is also present.
Previously, we had used Trend Micro and Symantec.
There is a method we had to upgrade our systems, a solution was required, and it had to match the three, four solutions from one company that were going to be cheaper, and there is a bidding process, whoever comes first, based on quality and cost, wins the competition. The requirements were speed, quality, and cost. Because Symantec was about to be renewed, our renewal would be more expensive.
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup is complex in the beginning. However, now that it has been properly configured and the bandwidth has been increased, it is running smoothly.
What about the implementation team?
Inspira, a third-party consultant, assisted us with the installation.
It does require some maintenance.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
The license number would be approximately $35,000. We are within the license limit. Otherwise, the solution will not work because of the central licensing policies in place. License numbers are not provided if the license is not obtained, and those systems will no longer be updated. It needs to be updated on a daily basis.
What other advice do I have?
I recently retired from the banking services.
I would rate McAfee Web Protection a nine out of ten. Because the experience changes over time. Overall, there will be some learning curve, when we implement, I believe nine is adequate.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
On-premises
